XPS430-SATA2-4 does not recognize drives
I am installing an SSD in my 5 years, with the latest version of the BIOS A01 and Windows7 32-bit XPS430. SATA HDD / SDD and DVD are recognized by the BIOS, if I put them in the SATA ports 0 or 1.
DDI or DVD are recognized if I put them in the 2-4 SATA ports. SATA is set to "RAID ON" if I select the alternative "RAID Autodetect / ATA ' there is no difference to be able to see a 4 SATA2 devices. I tried to force the device plugged into SATA port on IT, but at the start, what the BIOS reports an error that the device does not exist.
I tried swapping cables and leads PSU so believe I eliminated errors here. Philip Yip has been useful (see the thread), but without success. My only thought would now connect the internal DVD to port eSATA via an appropriate adaptation set.
Can anyone in this community about me other suggestions?
Thanks in advance.
OK, this is not the procedure. You must locate the RTCRST_PSWD jumper on the motherboard. It should be on pins 3 and 4. Move to jump pins 1 and 2 for five seconds, then bring it back.
And, Yes, this will cause the system to lose all the BIOS settings. Then I suggest that you write.

It sounds everything works correctly on your laptop computer and the operating system recognizes the drive correctly. But only the Nero application makes some problems.
Well, it's not easy to say why Nero does not recognize the drive.
I recommend you to check the Nero Web site.

For example the infoTool can locate the fault.
You can also try to use the Nero driver - CleanTool.exe and RegistryChecker.exeHowever, it is a 3rd party apps and I think you should ask for help using Nero.

First project does not recognize drive
It is a crazy problem. I am trying to open a first project I've been working a few days ago. I have not changed anything about the location of the media files. From the opening, see the media files dialog box opens indicating that this area is offline. I click on search. The drive that contains the media files does not appear in the dialog box locate even if it is mounted and displays it on the desktop. Other projects who have media on the same drive are fine and grateful for this player. I have all backup media. But I'd rather avoid relinking routine.
Hi Geoff, there.
Sorry for your frustration with the OWC RAID. I talked to the kind people at OWC for NAB and they have found a solution to this problem which is really weird, but apparently works.
- Select the OWC drive on your desktop.
- Press CMD + I to get the information for the reader.
- Click the icon of OWC for the reader.
- Press Delete, the icon disappears.
- Restart Premiere Pro.
- The OWC RAID appears in media browser.
- Reconnect your film now that the RAID is mounted in Premiere Pro.
I hope this helps. Please file a bug here.
Thanks to the staff at OWC to share this info with me.
It really pay to NAB Show sometimes!
Thank you

Setup does not recognize driver not
Howdy, well, I'm getting more and more desperate. I'm reinstalling XPPro on my xw8000. As you know, you need to press F6, wait a little and then you will be prompted to load the SCSI drivers, downloaded from HP, put it on a floppy disk. Then I get "txtsetup.oem be found." I used numorous diskettes and re-uploaded the driver many times. I did this same procedure that precedes a happy successfully, so I don't understand what's not this time. Does anyone know?
Of after this post, format the disk in the computer you plan to use and then redo the floppy and try it. Who would have thought it?

Tecra A4 - upload of Firmware does not recognize drive
First of all, my CD/DVD-R + RW doesn't write not any CD or DVD for the last 3 years.
Second - as always, when I get the toshiba on firmware updates, I tried to update according to the instructions, but I get the message not connected disk target.I followed all the instructions again more carefully, but no use. I received today a new update of the firmware. and I can not always up to date, I get the message "Target drive is not connected.
No operation troubleshooting? Help? suggestions?
This is the second update of the firmware that has failed. even the previous update firmware failed with the same error.
Another question: why only the updated easy to use? Its complex process even for the updates. Throat!
I was in a bit of hope that if I can update the firmware, it might help me to write at least CD now after 3 years... but even the FW updates do not work...
Hmm... any suggestion why I can't write CD or DVD?
I followed the suggestion given in my previous posts on the same problem of CD, but of no use writing finally! I would like to see the day where I can at least write a simple CD using my toshiba tecraA4. !I only have an idea why you can't record CDs or DVDs
1. the player is default
2. you have Sonic DLA installed. If so, uninstall it. The program changes RW optical drives of a hard disk. This is why written CD fail. There is no way optical writing as nero or whatever you use. -
Accidentally deleted some system files and now the computer won't allow me to install anything. Tried to install a new cd player to replace a corrupt, but it does not recognize drive. All the driver and OS install CD. Help.
Fix missing files:
Try to run the checker system (CFS) files. Press start, select run, type: SFC/scannow
SFC will ask your installation disc (which you must have if you are going to re - install), put it in the drive when requested. Leave the SFC to replace all missing or corrupt files.
To resolve the startup problem:
Check your BIOS Setup and make sure the optical drive is enabled and listed before the hard drive in the boot order. When you start, there will be a message, "type any key to boot from the CD-ROM." Type any key (execpt shift, shift caps lock, NumLock, etc) will cause the CD to be initialized in the installation program. (I use the space bar, it's an easy target.)
In addition, it would be useful to know a few more things: 1) what edition and service pack level of Windows XP you are running? (2) what is the model and manufacturer of the optical drive, please?

Why my mac does not recognize my hard drive or SD cards?
I got a new Macbook Air last month. Since I had so much problems with it - mostly because if you plug in anything whatever in the SD card slot or USB drives, it does not recognize them. I own a mac before, as well as PC laptop dell, so I am aware of the problems when formatting the discs everywhere, but even when I plugged a new passport hard drive, the computer couldn't find. Similarly, you may not find all the SD cards when I tried to use the SD card.
What is going with this? I am a photographer living, so I need constant access to these two. This new model has some new method for transfer of files from the external hard drive etc.?
Close, then connect the mac to a power adapter, disconnect all external devices.
reset the SMC
Reset the management system (SCM) controller on your Mac - Apple Support
reset all external then pulls even deleted
Once you open a session reconnect the external hard drive
If the drive is connected with a hub of party 3rd do not use it and connect the drive directly to the mac
Connect the external hard drive and open Macintosh HD/Applications/Utilities/Disk Utility disk utility
The drive appears in the list of external devices?

iMac does not recognize the hard drive device
iMac does not recognize my new WD My Passport for Mac external hard drive.
I have a late 2009 21. 5-inch iMac with Mac OS X Lion 10.7.5 version and I have USB 2.0 ports. Memory is 4 GB 1067 MHz DDR3.
I made sure that my Finder preference displays drives and external drives. I tried to see if would recognize a DVD and it does.
I was hoping to save my data to be transferred to a new Mac.
Any help will be appreciated
Hello amfisher,
Thank you for using communities Support from Apple!
If I understand correctly, you are unable to see your new external drive to an iMac 2009. I'll be happy to try to help with this.
So that your iMac to see it, it may be necessary to reformat the drive. The best format for use with your Mac's OS X Extended (journaled).
Format an external hard drive for use with a Mac
- Connect the hard drive to a USB port on your Mac.
- Open disk utility.
- On the left side of the disk utility window, select your external drive (or one of its partitions).
- Click the delete or delete button on the toolbar.
- On the Format menu, choose Mac OS extended (journaled).
- Type a name for your drive, and then click clear.
- After that the drive is deleted, close the disk utility window.
This should allow you to copy files to the disc.
Your computer has software called Time Machine. It is a fantastic software for backing up your computer. Information on how to use Time Machine is available here:

Power mac g4 does not recognize the DVD/CD drive. It has worked very well in Leapard
I just newly installed Tiger on my PowerMac G4, and now it does not recognize the DVD/CD drive. I did all the updates and it does not see the DVD in the DVD drive. It works perfectly before a new clean install DVD of the Tiger.
What is your indication that the DVD is not recognized?
Run the utility disc with the disc in the optical drive. The drive will appear in the sidebar of disk utility?
I did all the updates and it does not see the DVD in the DVD drive.
If you put another type of disc in the optical drive, as a music CD, it is recognized?

External CD drive does not recognize the CD burned on El Capitan.
Using El Capitan 10.11.5 and an external hard drive, I have burned successfully mp3 files iTunes CD - I can play on the computer itself - but an external CD drive does not recognize, even if the Player recognizes the discs once engraved on Snow Leopard and previous models. What's wrong? I burn "at the fastest possible speed," as I have always done.
What CD format? If you burn it to a CD mp3 this is not very common for a standard CD player to be able to read those. You may have burnt the other CD audio CD format.
