Y50-70 display blinking rate increases exponentially on 40% memory usage

I upgraded my new laptop of lenovo Y50-70 to win 10 about 1 month ago. Since that time I noticed that my screen would now and then Flash. I looked for a solution and I had a lenovo... Web site deactivation of 2applications in the Manager of tasks in safe mode. He helped abit because the flicker rate slowed, but it never disappeared.

I investigated the system of som time now and I have found that when the memory usage goes up to about 40% flickering display rate increases exponentially. I have 8G of RAM, GTX 960 2 GB graphics card so I don't expect a problem when running my usually of programs. I won't even do games even if I know that the machine can handle but I guess it would be much worse if I tried.

Please give me a permanent solution.

  • Y50 - 70 - display Windows 10

I just got a new touch Y50-70. Nice machine, I guess. But I put Windows 10 on it, and a part of the text is under 1 mm. Clear, but TINY. And the small icons are much more difficult to understand. Several dialog boxes are not resized, so you can see some of the fields inside of them, and some are completely hidden.

I went to settings > system > display > allow advanced settings > advanced resizing of the text and other items and reset the title bars, ToolTips, range of titles and Message boxes. but many things is not functional.

Any ideas where to go from here?

Mod edit: System model added to the subject line to improve visibility / clarity

I finally compromised at a display resolution of 2048 x 1152 and a scale factor of 150%. It increases the size of the desktop icons to take up more screen real estate and leaves a large part of the text and other smaller icons that software engineers had designed to look at, but offers a useful compromise.

    Hello @Thiet,

I understand that your notebook display flashes intermittently, and I would be happy to guide you to a resolution!

According to the diagnosis of flickering screens on a dispute with screens of laptop (Windows 7 and Windows 8), the problem is caused by a defect in material on the screen or other components of the laptop. • Latitude E6440 display blink when connect you to an external monitor via hdmi to VGA Converter

    Hi Dell Community,

Please help me diagnose what's wrong with my new laptop.

My laptop is Dell Latitude E6440, but whenever I connect external monitor to my laptop HDMI via HDMI port to the converter VGA, the external monitor still flashes randomly every two seconds. This VGA HDMI converter / works fine when I used it on the other laptop.

Currently I still have the chance to try my laptop HDMI port to connect directly to a HDMI monitor because I don't.

Is it that someone has the same problem with me? Thanks for your help.

Dell currently manufactures replacements of main card to resolve this problem. They will be available at the end of July. Please make sure you have a current subscription and contact support to be eligible for replacement.

  • Updated November application nonpaged memory being increases dramatically and expanded memory is abnormally low.

Last Tuesday, I installed the following updates on most of my servers (WinServer2003).  Since this related restart, not expanded on a server memory has continued to increase.  Normally, it levels out at about 60 000 KB and then rises slowly at a rate of approximately 5 000 KB per week.  Since the restart of Windows updates, last Tuesday, it rose to almost 250 000 Ko in a little over 3 days.  (I restarted Friday hoping that it was pure coincidence that would set a restart - no luck).  It increases at a rate of approximately 50 000 KB per day instead of 5 000 KB per week.

While rises in nonpaged memory, expanded memory is strange.  Normally it fluctuates wildly around 210 000 KB, but now it seems to stabilize in a constant 100 000 Ko.

  • How can I fix a sudden and drastic increase in memory usage?

Before we begin, I have slight issues since the middle of last year, but I thought nothing of it. Commissioning using a good part of the memory of Firefox was normal, and I could launch alongside my other programs very well. However, there are about 3 or 4 days Firefox started to peak in the use of memory, to the point where it slows down my entire computer down, will not load pages and it is usually a mess. I always make her close, too, because whenever I close it classically, it is always open in the background. I had the problem of a few months back, but it was never a big problem until lately. I thought, at first, it was the result of some programs that installed as part of another program installation. I had no problem with the installer, considering that it comes from a forum trust for game design official theme, by a veteran member. However, he installed several toolbars and multiple programs. I went through all of the registry of them, my cleared them, uninstalled, everything was gone. However, this problem of memory made its ugly resurgence later. I uninstalled, reinstalled. Did not work. I tried to reset firefox, but it remained open in the background, and I couldn't reset it. I disabled my addons (those that I use it for over a year now), nothing. I tried to open Firefox with all the addons disabled, but it remained open in the background and refused to reopen correctly. I'm actually on another browser right now because Firefox no longer works for much... I also put a few attachments until you see the increase in question. It starts at about 270 000 K (although the screenshot shows approximately 312 000), then after about 4 or 5 minutes on my site, shoots up to more than 1,000,000 and it basically stops working. If anyone has any additional steps they think I could take, I'd appreciate it.

Start Firefox in Safe Mode to check if one of the extensions (Firefox/tools > Modules > Extensions) or if hardware acceleration is the cause of the problem.

    • Put yourself in the DEFAULT theme: Firefox/tools > Modules > appearance
    • Do NOT click on the reset button on the startup window Mode safe

Start the computer in Mode safe mode with network support Windows (on the startup screen, press F8) as a test.

Make a check of malware with several malware scanning of programs on the Windows computer.
Please scan with all programs, because each program detects a different malicious program.
All of these programs have free versions.

Make sure that you update each program to get the latest version of their databases before scanning.

  • How to increase my graphics card memory?

    Hello everyone.

I currently own a laptop DELL Inspiron N5010 Intel 15. I wanted to increase the memory of graphics (Radeon HD 5470 512 MB) by sacrificing a few RAM. As I scoured the internet for a solution of most positions to do through BIOS Setup. The problem is that my computers BIOS Setup has no option (entered by pressing the F2 key on the start screen). It has hardly any options at all.

  • Commit charge increases until no virtual memory

For several days there, I get pop-ups that my virtual memory is low. Finally, the system enters in what appears like safe mode and finally crashes. This only happens using browsers to e-mail and another a few sites, no game, no diffusion... nothing of any bit intensive and nothing different from what I did for many years on the system. I used to be able to leave the system for days or even weeks and never had clear the cache. Now, the validation fees just guard increases until it reaches 100 percent. Physical memory ranges between 35 and 60 percent. I read several other Q & as on this question on this forum (thanks!), but all are less than 2 years, so I don't want to search old bugs. Here are more details.

Windows 7, 4 GB RAM, ~ 100 GB of free HD.

Known to the recent changes to the system: Adobe Flash and Java. I can't be sure if these updates have been before or after the beginning of the question of memory. Firefox has an update, but it was certainly after that the problem started - the update has not solved the problem.

Browsers are Chrome and Firefox, both up to date. It seemed that Chrome uses too much memory, and I read about the leaks memory with Chrome, so I spent a day or two to try to correct this and finally uninstalled Chrome. This has not solved the problem.

Finally, I did a restore of the system for you ensure that my game with expanded memory settings did not make things worse. The oldest available system restore has been 27/01/15 ~ 0700. This did not help either, but the problem may have started before that date.

    TIA,

    GD11

    @FL:

I checked. I have already switched off everything except (apparently) necessary files of Windows and Intel.

While you will lose some functionality, you can safely uncheck each item on the Startup tab. You should do the same with the items on the Services tab, but only after you have checked the box "Hide Microsoft services".

    Hello

Thanks for posting your query in Microsoft Community.

    I understand that explorer.exe increases the size of the memory and the screen freezes. I'll be happy to help you with your query. Let me ask you;

    1. When was the last time it was working fine?
    2. You did it no particular change in the computer before the show?

The issue could be related to any recent change in software or hardware on the computer or any third-party software conflict. In addition, it is recommended that you use unique security software at a time so that he would not come into conflict with other firewalls.

We will follow the methods below and check.

Method 1: Run the troubleshooter of Performance.

To optimize the performance of Windows, try to use the resolution of Performance problems to automatically find and fix problems. The resolution of performance problems check issues that could slow down the performance of your computer, such as how many users is currently connected to the computer and if multiple programs are running at the same time.

Open the performance troubleshooting utility by clicking the Start button , and then click Control Panel. In the search box, type troubleshooting, and then click Troubleshooting. Under system and security, click check for performance issues.

Method 2: Start the computer in safe mode, and then perform the clean boot in order to avoid any conflict of third party software.

Step 1: Start the computer in safe mode.

See: , start your computer in safe mode

Step 2: Perform the clean boot

Put your system to the clean boot state helps determine if third-party applications or startup items are causing the problem. You must follow the steps in the article mentioned below to perform a clean boot.

How to perform a clean boot in Windows

Note: see 'How do I reset the computer to start normally after a boot minimum troubleshooting' to reset the computer starts normally after troubleshooting.

    Additional information:

Hope this information is useful. Please feel free to answer in the case where you are facing in the future other problems with Windows.
