Y560 Problem USB

Since I formatted, o of the 2 right (SATA/USB and the USB port) USB does not work. It is powered, it can turn on my stand fan, but it will not read USB Flash drives, external hard drives or power my mouse. What's wrong? The other two on the left side works fine

I solved my problem, but the disadvantage is that I have practically re-installed Windows 7 Home Premium. All my files were left untouched, although the installation took most of the day, but it worked for me.

What I've done and what I would say, it's getting a DVD of images from here and burn (make sure to get the right one):
http://www.PCWorld.com/article/248995/how_to_install_windows_7_without_the_disc.html

Download/install Win7 SP1 to match the DVD image links in the previous link. Basically, the disk you install must match what is currently installed on the hard disk.

Follow this guide: the exploitation of a repair installation (in fact an 'upgrade' to the same version, but he rewrote all of the important system files, keep your data in tact):
http://www.PCWorld.com/article/243190-2/how_to_repair_a_corrupt_windows_7_installation.html

It is a long process, but it worked for me. I tried the new chipset drivers, etc and nothing worked before that. Good luck to everyone who has this problem.

    Hello

A few months after buying my M30x, I bought an external USB HDD to 200 G. The drive kept just disappear during use, so I took over, but the repair shop said they found nothing wrong with it. How you introduced me what s, update the BIOS 1.90.

In any case, after the upgrade everything seemed dandy for real,
and the drive worked fine. Fast forward to where the 2006/2007
I bought two more external drives, a 2.5 "160G and
a 3.5 "500G. The 160G is back to the store because he kept

Now, the 500G seems to work without problems and I did 200G of this already, but this week training started acting funny. First of all, I dual boot Win XP and openbsd. OpenBSD disk went all crazy and to attach and detach sometimes 48 times in a row... so I said okay, maybe a bug in their implementation of USB. I have run windows again (ugh) and start copying files autour just randomly and bam, the disk disappears, and I get a screen blue, followed by a quick restart...

at this point, I looked around as if there is an another BIOS update because my sixth sense tells me, it is still not right with 1.90, cause 2 operating systems may not be bad so I'm very inclined to believe that he is not yet 100% correct.

As much I know Toshiba does not provide any information what has changed with the new versions of BIOS and as a result, you could try only update the BIOS version and hope

The 500 GB HARD drive is great device HARD disk that needs a lot of power?

I m not an expert in openbsd, but you can disable the saving on the simple USB ports on Windows.
You can also try to remove the USB ports in Device Manager and after new restart you windows should recognize the ports again.

  • Satellite A660 - boot problems USB after BIOS update

    Hello

I own a Toshiba Satellite A660 and have recently updated the BIOS with the latest version (1.80). Since then, the laptop freezes on the splash screen (the one with the Toshiba logo) whenever a USB flash memory is attached.
It works without the memory flash connected and if I connect it after I enter the starting or the BIOS Setup menu. I can even start her like that.
As far as I'm concerned, this is a serious regression. Is there a way I can downgrade to the version of the BIOS, or any other way to solve this problem? I rely heavily on external USB drives.

    Kind regards
    Claudiu.

    Claudiu salvation,

That is really interesting, I have to say so I tested on my new Satellite A660 and Transcend 4 GB USB Stick. Well, I also installed 1.80 BIOS but I can t view this problem HARD drive is set as first boot device and all the other BIOS settings are default. The Toshiba screen and Windows computer starts as usual.
    No problem at all!

Have you tested different USB devices?

In General, it is not possible to downgrade BIOS. It is possible to an authorized service because Toshiba on page you can download the latest version only but I doubt it s a bug in the new version of BIOS because it works on my A660.

    Thank you

    Hello

It is not easy to say what may be the problem. In my opinion, it is possible that the USB ports are default. You can do the BIOS update and check if it will be better. Another possibility is to reinstall the OS and check again all the USB ports.

After reinstalling if there is the problem even once please contact the Service partner. I suspect that the USB ports can be default.

    Hello

Do you think that it s a hardware problem?
Eventually it s only a bad setting in the properties for the USB port.

Possibly the device external USB cannot be recognized because of the enabled USB power management.
To turn off the power on the USB hub, follow these steps:

    1. click on start, run, type devmgmt.msc, and then click OK.
2 expand the USB Bus controllers node, and then follow these steps for each USB root hub listed:
    a. right click on the USB root hub, and then click Properties.
    b. click the power management tab.
    c. disable the allow the computer to turn off this device to save power check box, and then click OK.

You could also try to remove and reinstall all USB controllers
To remove and reinstall all USB controllers, follow these steps:

    1. click on start, run, type sysdm.cpl in the Open box, and then click OK.
    2. click on the Hardware tab.
    3. click the Device Manager button.
    4. develop Bus USB controllers.
5 right-click every device under the Bus USB controllers node and then click on uninstall to remove them one at a time.
    6. restart the computer and reinstall the USB controllers.

  • Problem USB 2.0 on Satellite P200-1JR

I bought my laptop about a month ago, and yesterday I tried to use my flash drive.
After noticing that he took too long to transfer data, I checked the usb ports in Device Manager.
It shows that I have five simple USB and two USB 2.0 host controllers.
Changing the display 'view of the connections' I realized that my 6 USB ports share three of five simple USB controllers.

The laptop is supposed to offer 6-Port USB2.0... well, it doesn't.
(Also under Vista 32-bit, with 3 GB of Ram)

The service guy told me to format, but this does not solve anything.
    I also got BIOS 2.30...

have you tried to reinstall the chipset drivers? You may need to check www.intel.com and download the latest chipset drivers for your machine.

Another suggestion is to check that the sites of microsoft support for USB problems since Vista is known to work intestinal and I guess that there must be something on USB to find...

  • Satellite M40 - problem USB

    Hello

I am the owner of a Satellite M40-129 and it seems, I have problems with USB.

When I stopped the WinXP system, I think that it is in English, hibernate mode and try to restart, I get a blue screen with the text and with a failure message, the file "usbport.sys" caused the crash.
In addition, I use all three usb ports. On, I use a USB 2.0 on the other Hub usb hub 1.1 and the mouse directly on the third port. Since a few days, I installed a printer multifunction Brother on the USB 2.0 hub, but from the beginning of the system, I can't connect to the internet, because I always get a new failure message, that the (Allied Telesyn AT AR215) DSL modem is already in use or another usb device is improperly installed. To solve the problem, I tried almost all the positions of USB port for both devices and I de - and reinstalled the two train several times. But in addition, I have updated the BIOS yesterday, but without success. No, I use either only the internet with disconneted printer or the printer does not have access to the internet until you restart without connected printer.

    I hope someone can help.
    Thank you
    Thomas

    HI Thomas

Sorry, but it is not easy to give you a good explanation. As far as I know a few other components materials don t support hibernation procedure. The problem is that if the unit goes into hibernation mode every process must be stopped and some of them cannot be stopped on the easy way and stop correctly but forced to shut down. I'm sure that your device goes into hibernation correctly mode if there is no external device. Am I wrong?

Try to remove all external devices and after that, go to the Device Manager. Remove the USB ports and restart the device. After a reboot all components will be recognized and installed correctly. Check if the modem works correctly if there are no other USB devices connected to the laptop.

    Hello

To get to play, pause and other buttons works, you need to install the VAP (value added package).

The USB ports are controlled by the chipset, so I recommend you to install the chipset driver to get this resolved.

  • Satellite L670-143 - problem USB or midi

    Hello

I have a Toshiba laptop with 64-bit windows market 7.
I recently bought DJ Mixer with midi control an allen and heath xone db2. When I connect it to the usb port it works for a minute and then stops working. I tried all usb ports and have the correct driver installed, but nothing works.
Next to the mixing table, I have a midi controller allen and heath xone k2 and it works fine on my Toshiba laptop.

I also have another laptop (Medion) as well as the works of mixer on this laptop, so the unit is not broken.
Anyone got an answer to my problem.

Just a question: do you have other problems using the USB ports?
I mean other USB devices are working properly?
If you have any other problems using the USB ports in connection with other USB devices, I don't think this problem is related to the laptop.

However, it may still be a compatibility problem between two devices, but in this case, you should check out midi mixer manufacturer page for some details.

In my opinion, you should check if you have installed the software correctly.
I read the XoneDB2 manual and it mentions some important details (installation of PC page 28).

    1. connect the XONE:DB2 your grid and turn on.
Do not connect the DB2 to the PC at the moment.
2 open the Drivers folder and run Setup.exe.
    3. Select your preferred language
    4. Select install driver
    5. When prompted, connect the DB2 to the PC with the USB cord.
6 If this window appears, select Install.
7 the USB driver will now install.
8 If this window appears, select Install.
9 restart to complete the installation.

    a. something upward with FW6.4.0?

    b. I have a lot of faulty HDD USB (I check them with Seatools for sure)?

    c. the RN102 is defective?

    (d) another thing?

    Any help would be appreciated.

    Hello

Just realize, how complete this thread...

I updated my RN102 to v6.4.1 and retested the portable drive which was complicated with v6.4.0. It seems that whatever the problem, it is, it has been resolved and I have successfully completed a full (via RSYNC) backup on this drive.

  • Y560 - problems when running games

    Hello world

I bought the Y560 about a year and half ago and I was a proud owner since.

A few days ago I formatted drives, then reinstalled Windows and since I have problems executing Battlefield 3.

The problem is this: after a few minutes of play, the screen freezes and I can't hear a sound of "grrrrrrrrrrr" on the speakers. I can not give any command keyboard and can only force - turn off the laptop.

I had no problems to run the game before you reinstall Windows, so I guess that the problem lies in a driver conflict, but how do I know which drivers are the cause?

Anyone have any ideas on how to solve this problem?

    Thank you very much

Problem solved! It turned out that the problem was with the game.
