Y700 PSA - sleep turns into a BRICK - no display, Black Screen of Death

I fell in love with my new computer... in 8 hours about to get everything set up.

We were so good together. Then, I made the terrible mistake of sleep.

No chance of ever waking up.

I studied 4 years electrical and computer engineering for 1. I've never had a "computer problem".

I make my living on my computer and it is one of the worst things that can happen to me. I've already lost hundreds of dollars, not to mention the great for the lappy.

I've seen what seems like hundreds of other poster on this forum with the same problem and the only answer I've seen Lenovo was to correct some grammer guy and tell him don't not to curse. Hahahahaha!

I bought only from Lenovo for years today, including 3 for different customers.

Lenovo if you know about it why not tell people who buy not to go out to sleep as long as you fix?

Put your computer to sleep and turning in a brick should never be an option... but if it's say your amazing clients do not upgrade their computers to sleep!

In response to customer relationships that Y700-15ISK and 15ISK-Y700 Y700 - 17ISK computers laptops Touch awaken no mode 'sleep', may restart unexpectedly or may show a yellow exclamation, Lenovo has provided a TIP Service.

The CONSULTING Service is available here: https://support.lenovo.com/us/en/documents/SF16-I0012

Thank you

  • Y700, black screen of death

Hi, I live in Macedonia and there is less than a month, I bought the laptop. Earlier when I tried to turn it on, the power led lights up, the battery is used but the hard disk light flashes about and monitor shows absolutely nothing, not even the logo. What the hell? I want my money if she already has problems!

Hey, I managed to fix the issue - for now. I did allow the laptop sitting in black screen, which does not respond for an hour or two (did not keep track of) and then I hard reset (by pressing the power button until it turns off the phone). I turned on the computer laptop back and its functions have been restored to normal. It works normally now, I only hope that this never happens again. I kept the laptop disconnected at the same time and allowed the battery (to 38% when I turned the laptop back and was able to check how the battery was left).

  • I tried to turn it on and got a black screen which contained mixed with words,

I went to open the system restore and it wouldn't open completely... so I turned off - minutes later, I tried to power and got a black screen which contained the words jumbled upward, most were unreadable. I pressed the arrow keys to start course and it would return to the jumbled in a few moments later. Part of the message says... Sorry windows could not start properly... windows has been installed at the time of purchase, I don't have a CD for windows

    Hello

    1. Why did you try to open the system restore?

    2. What is the full error message that you receive?

You can try to arrange for a Windows XP disk that corresponds to the same edition, as it is installed on your computer. Thereafter, follow these methods & check if the problem persists.

  • AS100V Cam action freezes / turns into a brick

Purchase just this new cam action a few days ago started using it yesterday parsimony; basically tried some functions.

I see a very annoying problem:

After login with my iPhone PlayMemories Mobile 5 s (maybe go in and out of the application, as in normal operating conditions), the LCD would display screen 'movie' with flashing icons, including the word "Wait".  This screen does not disappear even after a long wait and PlayMemories Mobile can't connect to the cam when this happens.  If I can go to another screen by pressing 'Previous' or 'Next', screen flashing including 'Wait' goes, and I can go to the other functions/menus.  But if I then turn 'Power Off', then the cam will not turn on again next time I click on 'Previous' or 'next '.  It becomes dead as a brick.

I have to remove and reinsert the battery, then the cam working again.  But the same problem occurs.

I tried to reset; does not solve the problem.

Does anyone have a solution?  It looks like the software on the cam action and/or PlayMemories Mobile app is buggy... but I don't really know.

I don't think I can keep this device if it behaves like that...

    I just bought a satellite A210 - 11 p and I have a few questions.

First of all when I close the screen to the bottom, it seems to go on stand-by.
Usually I unplug at night. When I come to the use of the computer in the morning still once, he stopped completely and need to do a check disk.

I had a satellite A60 before that and it never happened.
Is it possible that the battery is running out of juice at night.

Please say it isn't so. Last night, I used alt F3 and the same thing happened!

What I have to turn off completely at the end of each day or leave it plugged in?

Also when I close the lid and come back a few moments later, the screen will remain black but the computer is turned on!
Is it a kind of which I can change the settings to save energy?

Anyone has the same problem or ideas.

    See you soon

    Hello

You must update the buddy BIOS!
That would solve the problems with the white screen after the awakening of the stand-by/hibernation mode!

    With regard to the issue of the battery;
If the laptop is in sleep or standby mode, then it still wastes battery power. On the other hand t discharge battery shouldn't so fast!

Maybe it s a problem of battery in this case, the battery must be replaced!

  • Installed ram perfectly but now my PC turns, (a few stays at a black screen)

    Hello

My Hp pavilion home PC a6160, accompanying initially installed at the factory 1 GB of ram. then I got domain upgrade to 2 GB of ram... Now, he has worked flawlessly so far... I had a Nvidia driver keep breaking any driver I use, or what I'm doing. So I saw some things on the net bad RAM could be the cause. Now, 512 MB of ddr2 ram died about 2 months ago... (my setup is 1 X 1 GB stick, 2 X 512 MB sticks). so I unplugged my computer from power. Took the stick 'dead' 512 MB, my computer closed, it works... Yet, nothing happens except a black screen and the screen saying no input detected. and my fans are running at 80% (hard)... so I put the 512 MB of ram back as it was... Always the same thing happening nothing black screen. The RAM is correctly installed, I press down firmly, the clips are on the key correctly... What the hell is casuing this black screen? even if the 512 MB was dead the other 1.5 GB should still work?-j' NEVER touched the other strips of RAM... Is MY GPU in the right place, barely touched. Please help me... Man, my computer is ulitmately stuffed... 1 nvidia driver give up my ram properly, cant work now is not even 2 years...

    Hello

When you bought the memory module did you buy compatible RAM guaranteed from a major memory manufacturer or do you just go to a Best Buy and buy little RAM they said would work?

HP desktop PC is very particular about RAM. The RAM that you install must have a SPD (Serial Presence Detect) file that matches what your BIOS for its tables in the ROM of CMOS file finds. If the SPD does not match, the RAM will not work. SPD has the voltage and all the RAM timings. No match... no workee.

First remove the other memory module. Try to run without memory installed to see if it displays an error message. The new module of memory DIMM 1 position and clear the CMOS.

    Unplug your PC.

remove the power cord from your PSU (power supply)

    remove the CMOS battery.

Press the power button to leave the current stored to dissipate.

Look at the position of the jumper CLR_CMOS. Move the jumper from position 1-2 and place it in position 2-3. Leave it there for at least a minute.

Put back the jumper in position 1-2, and then reinstall the CMOS battery.

Connect the power cable to the PSU.

Connect your PC to the present House. The led on the back of a solid color or it flashes. If solid color then life is good.

    Press the Start button.

Here is a convenient link with information on the motherboard of your PC.

    Kind regards

  • After that the threshold.vi, GRAYSCALE U8 type IMAQ image turns into a completely black image.

I want a threshold, the image of u8 after equalize.vi, but the result is the image turns into an image.before completely black equalize.vi, i use histogram.vi and the interval is (0,0) .where is evil? I really appreciate your help.

Unless you enter a value in the entry 'Replace the value' threshold IMAQ, your output pixel values will be 0 and 1.  In a grayscale image, you will not be able to see anything.  Try to define the 'replace' value to 255 and see if the data appears.  Here's a note from the help file on this function.

Note  Use a binary palette when you see an image that a threshold was applied in mode replace. However, what range to use for viewing depends on the replacementvalue. For example, viewing a picture of threshold could be achieved with a palette of gray. However, in this case, please use a replacement value of 255 (white) to better see image of threshold.

  • Windows 8 black screen after Login or the wake from sleep / hibernate and flickering screen

    Hello

I have something of a nightmare with my desktop computer running Windows 8 x 64.

I did a bit of cleaning, unplug all cables, etc. and then reconnected everything later.

Since then, I've known the following questions: -.

After starting and going through the connection, I am faced with a black screen.  The monitor turns on, but there is no pointer.  However, if I clicked at random, it would open a Windows App out of the splash screen, which would then become visible.  If I moved the mouse to the bottom left, to get the splash screen, he would immediately go black screen on me.  He seemed to be refusing to display the splash screen.

With "display" black screen, I found I could get the Task Manager (Ctrl, Alt, Del) upward and there could access the desktop.  It would then execute as usual, but if I let it go into hibernation or even just having the power of the screen down, it would be black screen again, and I have to use the 'trick' Task Manager to retrieve the desktop computer.

Sometimes, using the Manager tasks does not always, because he'll sweep between the black screen and the desktop, alternating every 5-6 seconds.  I found through the process from the Task Manager, it stops doing this.

Now, I did a Windows 8 regenerate, without any change in the problems.  I made sure the AMD drivers have been completely updated (they were) and also physically checked all cables and cables are properly connected and the GPU / RAM etc are properly placed.

There is no error message displayed at any time. I have also disabled Fast Boot, nothing helps.

I examined a faulty monitor, but it worked fine for an hour or two at a time, until I got let go sleep or put into hibernation, and I'm at square one.  It would of course be a faulty GPU, or even a PSU failure, but I'm not convinced the symptoms are pointing to them.

For me, the fact it does not display the Windows 8 start screen after that Login or Wake Up is important.  It makes me think that Windows may interfere with the display in some way?

I can, if necessary, provide DXDIAG etc, and I "m hoping someone will have an idea of what goes wrong.  I have spent ages going through Google and others, but cannot find a solution to my problem.

Thanks for any help or suggestion you may have.

    Conrad.

It solved!  Traded my monitor cable and all problems solved.  Guess he had a break or something in one of the lines.

    Thanks anyway.

    Hello

No saving necessary data and re-installing Windows Vista might be the best option, but here
    are a few others.

You can save your files by putting the drive in another computer as a 2nd disk (best) or external
Drive USB enclosure and then backup to removable media such as CD, DVD or other USB drives.
Of course a real store of the computer or the manufacturer of your system can help to recover the files.

Or you can use a boot Ubuntu CD to back up data.

You can access Mode safe? Repeatedly press F8 as you start? If yes you can try Control Panel - device
Manager - graphics card - Double click on - driver tab - click on UPDATE driver - then right click
on devices and UNINSTALL - REBOOT.

A method to try to get to the desktop (try in normal Windows Mode without failure) is CTRL +.
ALT + DELETE - Manager tasks and tab process EXPLORER.exe and COMPLETE the PROCESS on this subject - and then
on the Applications tab - lower right - new task - type in EXPLORER.exe. Safe mode is available by
repeatedly tapping F8 as you start. CTRL + SHIFT + ESC also begins the Task Manager.

Black screen problems are extremely difficult to repair and all patch is usually on a base hit or miss.
That there is no information on a black screen as it is on a blue screen just adds to the

  • Probook450G3: question sleep/put into hibernation

I did a fresh install of windows 10Prox64 on this laptop which is originally pre-loaded with windows7 Prox64. I installed the drivers on the disc included. now, every time the laptop into hibernation or sleep I can't wake him up - the screen blinks several times then turns white. Nothing comes on the screen even not the mouse pointer. I can only continue by making a forced power off feeding and when I start her works normally as long as he does not sleep. I installed all the updates driver/Windows with the same result. Is there something else I can try other than to return to HP?

Please download and install the software HP support assistant from this link:

It will help to identify and correct the missing drivers and updates also.

This link also contains manuals on how to use HP Support Assistant. Make sure that you are connected to the internet during this operation.

If this does not work, you can try to reset your power options "by default" in the microsoft windows system.

and in the end, as a workaround, you can modifty power plan options to avoid hibbernation or standby mode.
