Yellow icon hp DVD-RAM GH82N Device Manager

Hi guys and gals, recently I came across a small yellow icon which indicates a code 19 on the disk drive. Looked for the driver, but no luck is around or I have to go to another site?

    Ashwani Hello,

Thanks for posting on Microsoft Community.

There are various reasons why a CD or DVD drive may not be detected. I would like to ask all of the steps in the Microsoft Article describes a troubleshooting and check if they help to resolve the issue.

Your CD-ROM or DVD drive is not recognized by Windows or other programs

    Note:

Before editing a registry key or subkey, we recommend that you export, or make a backup copy of the key or the subkey. You can save the backup copy to a location that you specify, for example, a folder on your hard drive or a removable storage device. If you make changes that you want to cancel, you can import the backup copy. For more information about backing up the registry, please see the link below.

How to back up and restore the registry in Windows

Hope that advice is useful. Let us know the State of the question, so that we can guide you further.

  • NO CD/DVD drive on Device Manager

Made sure I'm looking for the previous post with problems similar to mine before I post this question.

CD/DVD drive does not appear on the Device Manager.  It does not show as well as the disk management and workstation.  The door of the status bar will not be open except when I use a needle through a pinhole to open it manually.   When I put a disc, it does nothing.  I did system restore, delete Upperfilter and UpperFilter, run malware and Avira under safe mode as others have recommended here, nothing is.
I have a Dell Inspiron E1705 laptop (Windows Vista Home Premium 32).
This all started when I downloaded an accession of software drivers.  I regret it now.
I'm desperate and cannot afford to buy a new computer right now.   I feel like the only hope is to open my laptop but I'm afraid I'll do damage OVER I don't know what to do after I do it.
    Please help me.

    Hello

Check if the CD/DVD drive is seen in the Basic Input Output System.

Note: BIOS change / semiconductor (CMOS) to complementary metal oxide settings can cause serious problems that may prevent your computer from starting properly. Microsoft cannot guarantee that problems resulting from the configuration of the BIOS/CMOS settings can be solved. Changes to settings are at your own risk.

    Hello

You can contact the manufacturer that the problem is related to the installation of the firmware update, and similarly, there may be hardware related problems with the CD/DVD drive.

  • Errors in device IO & DVD - RAM UJ-811

    Hi all;

I am writing to ask support for CD-ROM/DVD-ROM for my Toshiba Laptop/Notebook drive. I have a Satellite P20-504, Windows XP Media Edition and as you probably know, the drive is a carpet * a DVD-RAM UJ-811. When I insert any type of disc, Nothing happens. The same car doesn t spin and sometimes I get the slightest glimmer of a drive next to my hourglass icon but then nothing. The problem occurred this morning, (21 November). I used the laptop and the DVD - RAM drive, I stopped the laptop after completing the work. 30 minutes later I restarted the laptop and the DVD - RAM drive is no longer worked, simple as that. There were no new downloads or updates within 48 hours before the breaking of this device. The computer laptop and DVD - RAM worked several times since a lot of new updates and downloads without problem. I can open the draw of disk by right-clicking on the icon for DVD - RAM in my computer so messages are going.

I now get the following error message:

D:\ is not accessible. The request could not be performed because of an i/o device error.

Things I did to try to solve the problem including:

    1. Uninstalling the driver after reboot, the computer recognizes the new hardware and re-installed the driver automatically. Driver still does not.
    2. I have restored the laptop to a pilot to date earlier still does not.
    3. I ran Norton Anti Virus, (after the recent updates.) Driver still does not work.
4 scratched my head a lot. Driver still does not.

This is the second time I had this problem with the same notebook and I had to return the laptop to the shop for repair, and this problem seems very much the same as before.

I understand there are UJ - 811b, an upgrade of the DVD-RAM driver that I currently have. After have been searching the net for advice on the resolution, it appears that masts * one readers get a bad press.

Computer Toshiba laptop, Satellite P20 - 504 Windows XP Media Edition (Service Pack 2).

    Carpet * a DVD-RAM UJ-811 version 5.1.2535.0

I just need a DVD-RAM that works, please.

Appreciated all the support and advice.

    Thanks in advance.

    Kind regards

    Rob Winter.

    Hello Rob

I use my Satellite P20-303 over two years and nave no problems until now. My camera has been bundled with DVD-R/RW drive and drive TEAC DV-W22E (DVD-RAM), I bought and I am very satisfied.

It of a little slower but works perfectly.

All that you have done so far is right, but I believe that this error message indicating that it is a hardware problem. It is possible that unit has power and you will be able to open it but it is not recognized by the system and cannot be used at all.

In my opinion, you should contact the service partner. I hope that the warranty is still valid. If this isn't the case, you have to check if this problem persists after installing recovery complete. On this way, the device will be preinstalled clean and it works properly. If this is not the case, there is certainly some malfunction of the equipment.

As I mentioned with my camera I use TEAC DV-W22E and I can just recommend to use this player.

Good luck and let me know if you will be able to solve this problem.

  • Satellite A60-S1591ST: yellow exclamation marks in Device Manager

    Hello

Recently I formatted C: and installed XP Professional. But after installation, there are several problems.

First of all, in Device Manager, there are large yellow markings at the SM BUS controller, video controller (VGA Compatible).

    How can I solve them?

Secondly, when I scroll to the bottom of the sidebar screen to read or see some content down in a certain site, my screen is so sensitive and vague simultaneously with movement or the slamming of the scroll bar. It is associated with above features?

My laptop is Toshiba Satellite A60-S1591ST, XP pro with SP2

I do not know how to identify the model of motherboard

    Thanks in advance.

    Hello

The problem can be solved very quickly the yellow exclamation point appears in the Device Manager, because you didn't install the necessary drivers.

If you now ask for the driver ;) page Am I wrong?

Well, it's a Toshiba laptop that so I think ;)
    See this page:
    http://www.CSD.Toshiba.com/cgi-bin/TAIS/Su/su_sc_modSel.jsp

Choose the Satellite A60-S1591ST and you should get all the drivers.

Audio drivers appear to be there and working, the drivers are inheritance this is just? It looks like a conflict somewhere. I went from Vista after network problems now XP has sound problems.

    Ideas please

    Hi David

I ve checked your other assignments created here in the forum and it seems that you are an owner of Equium A100-027 PSAAQE series.
    Am I wrong?

First of all, I would like to clarify a few things.
Especially the yellow exclamation points appear in the Device Manager because anything could go wrong during the driver installation procedure or you have used everything simply a bad drivers.

I think you first need to know if you have used the correct drivers!
Please go to the page of the Toshiba driver and check again the driver versions and download again.
I noticed that many users download the bad drivers and try to install it.

On the Toshiba page, you will also find installation instructions. There are 2 txt files.
One for XP and one for Vista.

Please make sure you use the appropriate for the good OS installation instruction.
Download all the drivers, then follow the order of installation mentioned in the txt file!

Normally, everything should work ok and you should be able to install any drivers!

    Best regards

  • Device Manager can't see the DVD ROM

I have a HP Pavilion dv9628nr notebook PC, with the version of BIOS F.31, running with Vista SP2.

He stopped recently to recognize the DVD ROM, which does not show even as a device in Device Manager, so I can't uninstall or update the drivers.

In the BIOS it is listed as a boot device, so it's there somewhere.

I tried the Fix Windows, what has not worked as well as regedit to delete the LowerFilters registry entry (there was no UpperFilters one listed), but none of this has given me my DVD DRIVE in Device Manager.

I wanted to try to disable AHCI mode for the drive controller in THE system BIOS, but it is not an Advanced tab available to get to this. And I don't know if this will solve the problem anyway.

Suggestions appreciated. Thank you and Merry Christmas.

    Hello

First, reset the defaults in the bios as follows.

Shut down the laptop.  Tap here to f10 as soon as you start Notepad to open the menu of the bios.  Press f5 to load the default values (sometimes it's f9, but the menu below indicates the correct key), use the arrow keys to select 'Yes' and press ENTER.  Press f10 to save the setting and still use the arrow keys to select 'Yes' and press on enter.

Check if the drive now appears in Device Manager - if it doesn't, try the following.

Even if the optical drive is listed under bootable devices, it can still have a hardware problem

An option here, you could try this will give a good indication that the problem is with Windows or the optical drive itself.

    Create a bootable Ubuntu CD

The Ubuntu CD that you create should work as you start the laptop (IE outside of the Windows operating system), so if this works do not, the problem is almost certainly a hardware with the DVD player problem

On another PC, follow the procedure on the link below to create a bootable Ubuntu CD and follow the steps described in the part 3 to 'Try' to see if this OS runs from CD.  The 'try' option does not need to install on the hard disk, it just runs from the CD.

    http://www.Ubuntu.com/desktop/get-Ubuntu/download

Let me know if it will work.

    Hi Brad,

You don't say what operating system you have, but if you are using Windows 2000 or XP then you don't need additional drivers for your DVD ROM

I suggest you delet the DVD ROM from Device Manager and then use the search for the new hardware option to allow the OS to find and reinstall.
