Yoga 2 Pro - how to get Windows 8.1 recovery disks

Hi all.

I just bought a Yoga 2 Pro and immediately wiped the drive and installed Debian on it (which works very well.)

While I can't imagine going back me to Windows, it would be useful to have the recovery of Windows 8.1 (or USB) disks available, just in case. (Money-back guarantee, sell to someone, etc.)

Unfortunately, during the installation of Debian, the recovery partition has been deleted, so I can't create the recovery/USB disks myself. How can I get a copy of the recovery disks?

Good day and welcome to the community.

For support of factory image recovery, you will need to contact the Service (info below). There may be a fee for the media.

Kind regards.

While not a central theme of your comments, I have received about 50 emails about Media Center. I would like to reassure customers that Media Center will certainly be part of Windows 8. No doubt about it. Knowing how strong the support of Media Center is between the testers of the preliminary version, we still have to do to ensure quality and compatibility with supplements is what you expect still in pre-release (as for any version of Windows, compatibility is an important effort, and when we work on the underlying video engine (for example, make sure that the features that push these areas receive adequate coverage).

Any window that you want to resize all the time must be the last closed window.

Take the corners of the window and drag it to the format full screen. Do not use to expand. Close all other windows first via the taskbar and the latter. Windows will remember the size of the last closed window the next time that you open the program.

    Hi brephosa8701,

Unfortunately the nc6220 doesn't have Windows 7 drivers on the HP.com website, I suggest that you try to use Windows Vista drivers and see if that can solve some problems for you.

How to get windows 7 Professional operating system software for existing key

For 5 years, Microsoft made it fairly easy for users of the Windows 7 operating system to get reinstall media. If you have lost your support disc or installation retail collection; either it has been damaged or defective; You can download a copy of the edition that you have licensed from a membership site called Digital River. More recently, Microsoft ended the availability to reinstall media that you can download as a. File ISO in Digital River, which is a digital reproduction of an optical disc.

It was particularly convenient for people who could not easily get the manufacturer's recovery media, did not want to pay the fees required to get or preferred a clean configuration without the software packaged manufacturers or even a recovery partition does not work. It's easy to use, all you had to do was reinstall and reactivate using the product key located on the certificate of authenticity and download all the drivers on the manufacturers website.

Given that this option is no longer available, what are your options? See the article for more details:

  • Does anyone know how to change windows to recognize the disks with 520 bytes per sector? Or one knows if Windows 7 will recognize no 512 bytes per sector drives? Reader vendors will move to larger areas in the future.

Windows does not recognize disks that are not 512 bytes per sector. Put readers at the point as unknown and I can't access it through the operating system. Is there something I can change to get Windows to recognize the disks that are not 512 bytes per sector?

    Hello MetalRain,

Thank you for your message.  Are you able to see the disks in disk management?  Try the following:
Click 'Start' > right click on 'My computer' > select 'manage '.
    Click on "disk management".
On the right, you see your drive?  If so, you can right click and it assign a drive letter.
Now you should be able to close this window and you can format your drive to NTFS, you can specify to change the bytes per sector 512 if you wish as seen HERE.
After assigning a drive letter, follow the steps below:
Click "Start" > click "Run" > type cmd in the text field and press "Enter."
In the command prompt, type format c:/FS: NTFS / a: 512 and press "Enter."
Please let us know if it did or did not help to solve your problem.
    See you soon

  • Where can I get a Vista system recovery disk.

I have recently upgraded to Windows 7.  I have problems with Windows 7 and must restore Vista and reload Windows 7. I get a black screen.

If you mean a drive where you can install a copy clean and complete the version of Vista that you had when you bought first the machine (assuming Vista came with the machine), then you must contact the manufacturer who usually will sell you at a modest price recovery disks.  If your system has / had a recovery partition, he may not been afferected by the upgrade.  In this case, it may be possible to use it to either restore Vista directly or to create a set of recovery disks Vista (you can ask manufacturing and ask how to access the partition if you have a (or will another assuming that you do not delete the upgrade) and how to use it to make recovery disks.)  You may need your Vista product key to activate it before making the upgrade to Windows 7 (or who may not necessary if you use recovery discs - it depends sometimes).

    I hope this helps.

    Good luck!

  • Can I use my Windows 7 Edition recovery disks Home Premium for a clean install on my old Windows XP computer?

Hello world!  I hope someone can help.

Can I use my Windows 7 Edition recovery disks Home Premium for a clean install on my old Windows XP computer?

If this is a recovery from a different computer disk, you are unable to do so.

In addition, if you were to format the computer, you will need to have a way to reinstall a copy of Windows with a genuine license.

The best option if you need Windows 7 Home Premium is to buy a genuine license then you can make a custom (new installation).

  • How to get Windows 8 Pro for Samsung OEM?

I have a laptop Samsung 9 Series, about a year ago and it came with Windows pre-installed pro 8.

There were some problems with it and that's why I had removed Windows 8 and installed Windows 7 above. Unfortunately, the OEM recovery partition was also erased in doing so.

I have the original OEM product key and wanted to know if there is a way to now install Windows 8 on my system, my real goal is to get Windows 8.1 on my system (which I intend to do after I have first win 8).
I tried to use the Windows 8 Upgrade Wizard, but I get an error "the product key cannot be used to install a version of windows 8" when I use my OEM product key.

  • Satellite P300D Pro - how to get Vista business after Ulimate upgrade?

6 bought weeks ago my first laptop - Toshiba Satellite Pro P300d 21F - it came with Vista preloaded Business. I could not use Windows Media Center, so I bought the upgrade to Ultimate. Big mistake because all my Toshiba set up has now gone - no internet, no Norton, no use of DVD (apparently my graphics card has a limited capacity) and all my software loaded - Toshiba and the rest is now gone - but it apparently is in a directory called the old Windows.

If I had known that a little upgrade would be so upset I would not have been worth it - so the question of the attack, it is how to cancel the apparently unduable and return to mental health with the Business version and no library.

Thanks in advance for any help

    Hello

All Toshiba laptops come with preinstalled recovery Toshiba disk creator tool.
You can find a shortcut on the desktop when you start it or the first time.

It s is strongly recommended that you create this recovery disk because it allows you to restore the system again.
    Have you created this disk?

If this isn't the case, you can check if your HARD drive recovery option still works.
To do this, start Notepad, and then press F8. Then an advanced boot menu should appear.
Here you choose the first option called fix my computer.
In the new window select Toshiba Recovery.
This would begin the recovery procedure and install again the image of Toshiba.

This is not possible because this additional software is not available on the download page of Toshiba why?
Because this isn't a Toshiba Software, but software manufacturers, 3rd party.
This software comes with the recovery disc and can only be used with your laptop!

I think it has something to do with licensing issues
