  Yes, if you have the main router near the speakers... then simply plug the Express into the enclosure of the ethernet... Run it in Bridge mode and turn off wireless... Then check if you can find it in iTunes etc to send the stream of airtime.

  Or you can configure it to join a wireless network... it will not extend... Apple call it client mode.

  I am creating an iTunes library for music & movies on an external hard drive LaCie d2 Thunderbolt 4 to. I copied all my movies on external hard drive, but cannot create a name of folder that iTunes will recognize that the library. I have a new mac mini OSx EL Capitan facility, there is NO file (movie or music) stored in the iTunes library on mac. I don't HAVE NO copy the old iTunes library since (OS crashed) & I want the external drive to the library. I tried several times to iTunes directly on the external drive, but it does not find the movies. (This is the file created: Volumes/LaCie/iTunes:iTunes Media), & this is the name of the folder on the LaCie external drive I am trying to get iTunes to serve library (iTunes/iTunes Media). I searched for hours to find info on this, but each article explains how to MOVE or COPY the old library (create a). I am over 50 years & not a computer guru, so please do not criticize my ignorance & please be more specific on the steps to go through as possible! Any help would be greatly appreciated! Thank you.

  Ok. It seems that my Express and my old extreme are no longer supported by Apple? Come on guys! I tried the Airport utility download stuff to my phone, but that did not work. Alternative workaround so I did not in the trash with a value of $400 of perfectly functional base stations? I just want to have Airplay again. GRRRR.

• Time Capsule will not extend the Airport Extreme network

  My airport extreme (do not know what version... can't even find it in the system report) offers a WiFi modem. I have a Time Capsule 4 G which extends the network. This works well for a few years now. Suddenly, the CAP began flashing yellow. Time capsule said Airport utility cannot extend the network and I should make sure the password is correct, that it is in the signal of a network, etc. I went through the settings of the time capsule by ensuring that passwords are correct.   A bit of history... The location is a small school with about 10 cameras, its network systems, point of sale, cloud networked storage, etc. Was asked by the owner to create or activate a Guest WiFi SSID. I have also discovered that 1st generation Time Capsules have no comments WiFi capabilities.

I got most of the features, functions, etc. on the network back where they were before, with the exception of camera systems and a network storage device active cloud to the owner's House.  What I would like to know is... Since then, I understand that a hard reset does NOT erase the backup or other data on the shared disk in the time Capsule... is there an easy way to restore the settings of all of the time Capsule before the problem occurred?  I would need to do this using a Windows computer.

  Any help will be greatly appreciated. What I'm trying to avoid the most is having to reset all the cameras, which are upstairs, hard to reach areas. I guess that people who were previously assigned on the cameras must still be there. If only I could get the Capsule of time exactly where it was before he went down, which would allow me to save a lot of time and frustration.

  What you had to do was to export the configuration before you start playing. Without export of the configuration there is not much hope of healing to less than the previous tech saved a configuration to the unit... This example gets much delicate.
