    Hi Chris,

Just to be sure, have you saved your iPad in iCloud and iTunes?  Always a good idea before update of iOS.  You have activated iCloud photo library?  The adjustment to optimize the choice will be to transfer your photos and original videos to iCloud and free up significant space on your iPad.

If you need more space for an iOS update

When you update your iOS wireless device, you might see a message that there is not enough space on your iPhone, iPad or iPod touch. These steps can help.

During an update wireless, you might see a message that says that the update cannot be installed because it needs more space you have on your device. If you see this message, there are several ways you can update your device:

    • Connect your device to your computer and to update via iTunes.
    • Delete the contents of your device and try to update again manually.

    Update via iTunes

To download the latest version of iOS through iTunes, follow these steps:

    1. Install the latest version of iTunes on your computer.
    2. Connect your device to your computer.
    3. In iTunes, select your device.
    4. In the summary pane, click check for the update.
    5. Click on download and update.

If you see a different warning message during an update, Learn how to solve it.

    Delete the content manually

If there is not enough space to download and install an update, iOS 9 trying to put more space. It temporarily removes some downloadable parts of installed applications. You can't remove or move any content. But in some cases, it is necessary to manually remove some content.

In the settings menu to use, you can see how much space your apps use and delete those you don't need. You can always re - download your purchased applications or any content later. Follow these steps:

    1. Tap Settings > General > storage & use iCloud > manage storage.
    2. Select any application to see how much space it uses and tap Delete App to remove it. Some applications, such as music and videos, allow you to remove parts of their documents and data.
    3. Reinstall the update of iOS. Tap Settings > general > software update.

You can also reduce the size of your library in turning on iCloud photo library and optimization of storage of your device. Learn more about the content and storage app.

Also, take a look at your Messages application.  Several times the attachments in conversations can occupy a lot of space.  You can remove individual attachments.  Should you need a conversation, deleting it will remove attachments as well.   If you need back up an individual message before deleting, you can copy and paste the content in another application such as Notes.

Use Messages with your iPhone, iPad or iPod touch

    Happy new year!

  • I backed up my iPhone 3GS on iTunes. Back up seemed to go OK. iTunes then prompted me to update the iOS that I did. The phone then crashed. I did a factory restore. The backup that I did was not there. Can I recover the loss upward in anyway?

I backed up my iPhone 3GS on iTunes. Back up seemed to go OK. ITunes then prompted me to update the iOS that I did. The update failed. My phone broke. The only option available was to restore to factory settings I've done. The back up I had made was not available for restore. It contains precious family photos and videos. Is anyway to recover the lost or any part of it from my PC Backup? Any help would be appreciated. Best wishes Giles

If you go to iTunes and watch your backups, you don't see one that was made today? Did you see an indication of the backup was not successful? What version of iOS is the device that you have been asked to update? It was not an iOS for the iPhone 3GS update in a while. Regarding the photos and videos, you had never taken the time to import them on the computer?

Try resetting your device. This will not erase your data stored on that device.

    • Press and hold the sleep/wake button
    • Press and hold the Home button
    • Press and hold both buttons until the display turns off and on again with the Apple logo on the subject.

Alternatively, you can go to settings - general - reset - Reset all settings

If that doesn't work, restore your device to factory settings. Please note that this will delete the data on your device.

  • IOS 9.3.1 replace 9.3 before updating?

I've got 9.3 update message in my iPad2 that fortunately I have not being updated due to its problems. I always use 9.2.1

With the new 9.3.1 now released is anyone able to tell me if the advice of 9.3 previous update are removed by Apple and replaced by the later version. of course, I don't want to Update 9.3 simply that it is "inline" next, if this can be done I have to jump 9.3.1 going on I tunes. Thank you

Only the most recent iOS will be installed. Since iOS 9.3.1 is more recent than iOS 9.3, 9.3.1 is iOS that will be installed. You'll have no choice.

To be sure, the most recent update is actually installed (assuming that you mean that the iOS 9.3 update is already downloaded on your device), remove this update file under

Settings/general/storage & use iCloud / Manage Storage. Now find the application to update iOS 9.3, type on the application, and then on remove App.

Now, go back to settings/general/Software Update and the new IOS 9.3.1 will be found and downloaded to your device. Update after the download finished.

  • try to update to ios 9.3. Returns the message "Unable to check the updated" ios 9.3 has no verification because you are no longer connected to the internet

try to update to ios 9.3. Returns the "cannot verify the update" message "ios 9.3 failure of verification because you are no longer connected to the internet"

But of course I am connected.

Apple released the update iOS 9.3 for older devices (air of iPad and previous iPhone, 5 s and previous) due to problems with Activation. See the following for details and possible solutions.

  • UCCE/CHP - backup before YOU patch?

    Hi all
    Running packed EAC 9.0.4 & CVP 9.0.1.
What is your typical backup (if any) procedure before you apply the fixes ES UCCE/CHP?
Since it is a virtual environment, is it wise to simply clone the servers in question to be used as a backup in case of installation errors ARE?
Suggest this as preferable method (with VSphere Clone VMs/create OVF) during a more traditional backup as something that could be made in a non-virtualized UCCE environment? (i.e. export config and backup CVP CVP call servers and gateways VXML of OAMP, backup bases CHP, using SQL, back up the registry key "Register of Cisco Systems, Inc.", use the utility NTBACKUP (?), etc...)
    Thank you
    Mike

There is no need to take a backup before installing any ON boxes of UCCE. If anything is required to do before applying the ES, the same would be mentioned in the release notes ARE himself. You can follow the above-mentioned procedure that otherwise needs.

In ADDITION, replaces specific files based on defect fixes and we can easily return if you have questions...

Hi, im using iPhone 4 s. I wanted to update to iOS iOS 9.2.1 9.2. Suggest me if I should update or not. Thank you

    Hello, RezaMY.

Looks like you're wanting to know if for update your iOS. It is always good to keep your device up-to-date so you don't miss the latest features. The following Knowledge Base article offers until the update:

    1. Connect your device to the power and connect to Internet with Wi-Fi connection.

  • Why my 6s Iphone says that I used 44,59 GB of data and documents when I don't have? Recently updated to iOS 9.2.1 and having problems.

I bought the new 6 s iPhone with 64 GB of storage in December. A few days ago I updated to iOS 9.2.1 and I got a notification the next day saying that my storage was almost full. I was shocked because I have not yet used half of the 64 GB and before I upgraded to the latest updated everything worked well. Also, on a side note, game Center does not work and when I try to open the app it's just a blank screen and when I go into settings, click on the play icon, it does not even open.

Back to the problem of storage, I don't not even use a lot of my storage upward. Look at the photo for reference. This photo was taken after I updated.

So I am very confused right now with my phone and I have only had it a month ago and it's already the case. It does not make sense to me to have only 4.84 GB free. I used 6,76 Go on applications, and I have 20 apps and I understand that, but whence this other 44 gb?

Why do we say I used 44,59 GB of data and documents when I don't? Could be a problem due to the update to iOS 9.2.1?

Connect your phone to iTunes on your computer and see what the ability the bottom bar shows for storage. You can have one large amount of 'other' data which may indicate a corrupted sync or corrupted update. If you have backed up with iTunes before you update, try to restore the backup.

Take a look at the Board to the alarm user.

What is 'Other' and what I can do about it?
