"You don't have permission to save in this location. Contact the administrator for approval. »
I use Windows 7 Ultimate and I'm trying to back up the database of Northland under the C:\Program Files directory and I get an error message indicating "you don't have permission to save in this location. Contact the administrator for approval. "I can't even save a text file to this place, so it has nothing to do with Windows Explorer. When I click the Windows Orb, it shows that I am logged on as administrator.
I haven't used Windows 7 much since installation and don't know if I would have been able to save in this location in the past, but I recently created a working group with my laptop (a little background information).
I searched through other posts for hours and nothing has worked for me.
It makes no sense at all. Any help would be appreciated,
Chris
It is well known problem UAC (User Account Control) in Windows 7 that prevents you from storing data in system folders. You have these options:
- Change the database so that it stores its files in a different folder.
- Get a 7-compatible Windows version of the program.
- Turn off UAC (not recommended)

I am new to Windows Vista, but relatively competent in older versions. I installed the software on my new desktop computer. I am the only user on this computer and I have administrative rights. I installed the software in the Program Files directory. In the software, there is a folder for the working data file. I now try to 'restore' my data on this new computer file so that I can start working. I get an error message that says "you don't have permission to save in this location. Contact an administrator. "I have considered similar questions on this site and followed the advice to take possession of the file without success. I also created a new folder on the D drive, thinking maybe Vista I just wanted to keep C clean, but it gives me the same message. I can't save to the folder I created. Any advice?
Program Files is a protected directory. If possible you create the working folder for the data in your user account instead. Is it possible in the options of the program the program in a directory of your user account? Or, if you think that any other user you may need to use this program, you could create the directory Public. MS - MVP - Elephant Boy computers - don't panic!

I installed Windows 7 RC today and trying the route of a local domain in C:/Windows/System32/drivers/etc/hosts, but get an error when you try to save it with Notepad:
"You don't have permission to save in this location. Contact the administrator for approval. »
If I try to save it to my documents and then copy the file over I have another error:
"You need give the administrator permission to copy to this folder."
My account is the only account is already an administrator.
How can I do this?
See you soon.
Right click on Notepad, and choose Run as administrator. Click on file, then open, then navigate to
\Windows\system32\drivers\etc
In the menu drop-down edit files text (*.txt) to all files (*. *)
Open the hosts file and change now :-)

Forbidden - you don't have permission to access on this server
Recently, I cloned git a customer Web site and I need to work on that, but when I try to open it via mamp or ampps a message appears:
Forbidden you don't have permission to access the 'websitename"/application/index.html on this server.
I did extensive research and everyone says to change the permissions on
httpd.conf
, but nothing happened. I tried to reinstall and nothing more. If I navigate through the terminal in the folder of the Web site, I have all the permissions.Does anyone have a solution?
It is difficult to understand your configuration, but you try to run the web site locally? If so, the url is localhost/websitename/application/index.html or whatever the path to the root of your document...

Sometimes, not all the time, I get a message that says:
Forbidden
you are not allowed to access on this server connection informationIt happens all the time, but it happened today about 5 times. I finally had to use Safari to get online and return to Firefox.
I never know when I stopped if it's going to happen when I reboot and try to connect again. This morning was especially painful, since it used to happen once and then I exit and restart Firefox and it worked. Today, it has not worked. What can I do to fix this? Thank you
You can reload webpages and ignore the cache to refresh potentially stale or corrupt.
- Hold down the SHIFT key and click the Reload button
- Press 'Ctrl + F5' or 'Ctrl + Shift + R' (Windows, Linux)
- Press 'Command + shift + R' (Mac)
Clear the cache and cookies only from Web sites that are causing problems.
"Clear the Cache":
- Firefox > Preferences > advanced > network > content caching Web: 'clear now '.
'Delete Cookies' sites causing problems:
- Firefox > Preferences > privacy > "Use the custom settings for history" > Cookies: "show the Cookies".

Receive the "403 Forbidden" error code on a Web site, I've been accessing years. It is written "forbidden you don't have permission to access the/_cqr/login on that server." I can access this site (AOL) on other browsers.
I emptied my cache. I rebooted Firefox. This is my email website - never had a problem before. I am able to access it on Safari. I even tried the simple address (rather then my bookmarked login address) - still got the same error message!
I have the same problem: it is written ' forbidden you don't have permission to access the/_cqr/login on that server. " I can access this site (AOL) on other browsers. After that I connected to AOL, I get this message. then I go to the address line and delete everything after than the aol.com and her and then press ENTER. then, I'm registered and can read my emails. How can we solve this problem?
