You use a Mac, and when I open a new tab, it goes to the AOL Homepage instead of show history.
Installed new AOL add on and now the new tabs open to the AOL page. You want to restore to open new tabs with the history page.
This happens because of the AOL add on. uninstall that and then try again.
reset your firefox easily solve the problems more.
While google is my default search provider, and my home page is igoogle, when I opened a new tab, it goes to bing. and I hate them.
I can't find how to set the new tab 'igoogle' - or even 'white '. simply no bing!
I won't be using Bing intentionally. It seems that there is no other choice. It keeps popping up.
My homepage is on facebook, but when I open a new tab, I wish that the page that opens on this tab to be Google. Inadvertently, I changed the default page to Pogo.games during a game download. How can I change to Google?
You can use NewTabURL extensions to accomplish the same thing.
When I open a new tab, I stay on the current page, even though I have changed my preferences to focus on the new tab.
You have this problem when running in Firefox SafeMode?
Do not choose anything at the moment, just use 'continue in safe mode.
If this is not the case, see this:
You probably have an installed extension that has a conflict with another extension.
I recently downloaded a program called PDFlite to view the PDF files. He seems to have changed some settings on my Firefox, I does not allow to do so. I am today and there was a Bing toolbar, which I disabled it without problem. But now when I open a new tab, it goes directly into the Bing search engine, rather than the blank page where it used to go. This turn off the coast. I hate Bing. I checked my addons and there is no new addons added by the program. I can't understand what is happening. Help, please!
Restore the default home page
Check and tell if its working.
When I open a new tab, I get redirected to a page that is not google. I want to start with google and go from there.
You can check the browser.newtab.url pref on the topic: config page and set this pref to your preferred the new tab page.
- the new default tab with the tiles page is on: newtab
- the default homepage is Subject: Home
- to a blank page, you can use Subject: vacuum
The pref browser.newtabpage.enabled must be set to true to use the page defined through browser.newtab.url like the new tab page.
See this article on the page tab (topic: newtab):
Your list of details of the system shows that you have a user.js file in the profile folder to initialize prefs each time you start Firefox.
The user.js file is present than if you or another software has created this file and normally it wouldn't be here.
You can check its contents with a text editor (right click: 'Open with'; do not double-click).
The user.js file is read whenever Firefox is started and initializes the preferences to the specified value in this file, so the preferences set via user.js can be changed temporarily for the current session.
You can remove the user.js file if you do not create this file yourself.
You can use this button to go to the Firefox profile folder currently in use:
- Help > troubleshooting information > profile directory: see file (Linux: open the directory;) Mac: View in the Finder)
When I used to click on the tab + one already open to open a new tab that he used to open a display of windows (not tabs) my most used sites and I could simply click on the window to directly join the debates. Now I get only a blank page and the address bar empty. I am very unhappy that this facility has disappeared. How can I get it back? I have used many. He disappeared only since I've upgraded to Version 6.02. Using Windows 7 Home Premium 64-bit.

I explored the pages of the proposed solution, but if the answer was there I did not understand. I clicked on the Gable at the top right of the page and changed from Enhanced to classic, but that does not give me my 9 tiles back. I'll be very grateful if any of you folk with more savy can help me.
It was a change of 33.0 Firefox, where the "tiles" are larger and of a fixed size. To see other tiles zoom out to see all your tiles.
To really 'fix it' you need an add-on such as new tools of the tab.
Or the stylish accessory as well the Style of the user appropriate.
whenever I open a new tab, it allows to open directly on the "new tab" page, the one with the thumbnails of your popular and other sites. but instead of showing this, new tabs have been directly opened recently to the firefox home page instead. could someone help me to get it by opening the new tab page, rather than the homepage? Thank you!

I does not do anything to add this in and have checked all the settings options and find nothing that will change.

I like to use the 'Location bar before semi-automatic' feature when I opened a new tab; However, recently when I opened a new tab it goes to the Yahoo! search engine. I did not define this upward. How can I change to continue using 'Location bar autocomplete'?

When I open a new tab, Firefox displays, in the new version, links to a bunch of my sites visited previously. Please tell me how to make this stop. I moved to Firefox, precisely because Chrome has done this and I hated it. This is a behavior that could have been imported from Google. I hate it. Please tell me how to make it stop.
