  Here is the easiest way to move to W7 without creating the old "windows" folder It's the method I want to use, there may be others, but this works well for me.

  Create your original OS system recovery discs using your recovery manager. Here is a link on how to do it:

  Also, go on 'C' drive, expand this and burn it on a DVD "SwSetup" folder. This folder has all your Vista drivers and all the software you need, whether those on the HP website will not work.
