  Purchased my Lenovo to Fry mid October 2012.  Have already experienced several BSOD right after that MS updates were installed every time.  A few days ago, I met several BSOD right after that the Windows updates were installed.  On the last BSOD, I get the message Windows 7 Build 7601 not authentic.  Nothing I tried as suggested on screen worked, amounts to the same thing.  I am a student full time online.  Fall semester ends on Sunday, December 16, and I'm way now behind on all my homework back and my final exams in all categories.  It does not help and I have not the time to take my computer to Fry for them to take a look.  All my data is stored here.  In addition, I tried to restore to another time, when you restart the message was still there then I turned off and when rekindled later it had disappeared, but returned for the next day.  I tried to restore againn but this time it won't go away.  I don't know where my product key is, as it is not on the computer itself.  It may be on a manual but I have since moved and had the movers help me and they put things in the back of my storage unit or in boxes not recognized.  So until I go through everything in my storage unit I'm screwed.  Please help as soon as possible because it's really me screwing.

  If so, I would avoid their installation in the future and instead to download any available hardware updates directly from the manufacturers Web site.

  I also suggest that when you get a new computer and you start for the first time, you must create a system restore point.

  As each new Windows 7 PC should come with a COA sticker that is attached to it, this is one evidence of a genuine license installed on the machine. If you bought it on shelf, its possible someone could have pulled off the sticker.

  Always check for a real sticker or buy any of the machine.

  It seems that you have bad luck with Fry, FRY well their business and the purchase of another where, there is nothing particularly special to their topic. Try to buy directly from the manufacturer online or try another store, if you live close to a Microsoft Store, you can go.

  The date of manufacture of your system is around September 2009, which means that your system might have are preinstalled with Windows 7, but another edition such as the home edition Premium or Home Basic edition.

  Check at the bottom of the laptop or in the battery compartment to confirm the version and edition of Windows which initially is preinstalled on your laptop, then the answer here with your findings.

  Windows 10 has been automatically downloaded on my computer.  I had heard some disturbing results of this upgrade and was happy with Windows 7.  So, I uninstalled Windows 10.  Big mistake.  Since the uninstaller, I have a permanent message on my screen that my copy of Windows is not genuine. I bought this computer used five years ago in a computer repair shop.  I have no problems with Microsoft update my software for five years until what I uninstalled 10.  Now my computer restarts every 10 minutes.  Fixes for this problem.  I don't know what is my product key.  Thank you for your help in advance.

  Once downloaded, run the tool.
  Click on the button continue, after a short time, continue button will change to a copy button.
  Click the copy button in the tool (ignore the error at this stage) and then paste (with r-click and paste or Ctrl + V) in your message.

• Win 7 Ultimate in VMWare - added memory to GuestOS, now "your copy of Windows is not genuine 7601.

  I nonchalantly added memory to my VM machine and now I get this message and cannot be upgraded.

  Can any ideas on how I fix?

  Well, its an OEM license SLP, which means it is a Dell, HP, LENOVO and Sony.

  These types of Windows 7 licenses are not transferable.
