your external IP address for port forwarding

OK, so I want to do a game server, but... There need Port Forwarding, so I called my InternetServiceProvider "Clear."

Claire told me that "WE DO NOT support the external Ip addresses: then I was then told that I have to call HP because that's what my PC is under.

I decided to go to the site and ask because they want a $ 60 million tax which is good, but... I don't have the money! This is why I need a server. In any case if you can please give me a video or tell me how do it in the response that would be LARGELY APPRECIATED!

• Router not configured for port forwarding

I use a modem wireless to my ISP, they block all ports less than 1024 and I need to forward ports 80 & 440

How can I solve this?

If you configure your router for a LenovoEMC Personal Cloud and always see the message, "Not configured router for port forwarding" under personal cloud Configuration, one or more of the following ports are probably blocked by your internet provider (ISP): 80, 443or port selected in the range 50500-50599 .

Port 80 is used for internet access (HTML UN-secure) in general. If this port is blocked, but the ports 443 and 50500 are open, the Personal Cloud will work correctly even if the error message appears.

Port 443 is used for remote access on the host network storage device. If this port is blocked, but the port selected in the range 50500 is open, you will be able to use the Personal Cloud LenovoEMC and invite others to use it, but you will not be able to access your network storage device via the Internet URL. (See answer ID 30773 for more information on access remotely through Personal Cloud LenovoEMC.)

A port in the range of 50500-50599 must be routed through the router to use the function LenovoEMC Personal Cloud. If this port is blocked by your ISP, you will not be able to access the Personal Cloud to your network storage device or invite others to join the Personal Cloud. (For more information, see answer ID 29070 .)

• Internal untrusted clients directed to the external IP address for traffic PCoIP

I have a network segment disable my firewall for some untrusted clients. When untrusted clients connect to view (5.3), they use a DNS name that resolves to a DMZ (view Security Server) host. That's where I think the problem is: it seems that security server responds with its external IP address, and then all the PCoIP traffic is routed to my router (where the external IP address can be found), then back into view and the customer. Traffic of SSL connection works fine, the traffic remains inside and does not get directed to the external IP address. It is only the PCoIP traffic that gets invited to use the external IP address.

It seems that DNS is not enough - Security Server seems to respond and connect using only the external IP address configured in the external URL field PCoIP - is this correct? If so, then to do a substitution for the external URL so that internal untrusted traffic doesn't get routed the external IP address - this creates a lot of unnecessary traffic, mess with QoS, etc..

Another idea would be to allow untrusted clients to connect directly to a login server instead of sending them on the Security Server, but I don't think that it is a best practice...?

Mike

As Linjo says the simplest solution is to set up a server for additional security to point these clients (no need of another server connection, you can pair it with the existing one). Today, you are required to provide an IP address for PSG, so if you need to send it to another, you will need a second server.

Of course, if they are completely not reliable customers, then you can force through the external access point still but looks like you need avoid the cost of additional traffic from this approach.

• How to set up a Lan to Lan VPN without using your external IP address?

I have two 28 subnets A & B.

My PIX and ASA outside interface addresses are both in A subnet.

I am in the middle of a migration of the PIX to ASA and need to use the PIX outside of the address of the interface on the ASA for the last two remaining lan to lan VPN.

I do like that because the sellers of these virtual private networks to connect to are huge dinosaurs IT and the aaages to get their sh * t tri... This means that I have to pass the IP address to my ASA, so I can't sentence have change for a new IP peer.

I tried to figure out how to set a specific my counterpart VPN IP address but I can't figure out how...

I even physically connected a second ethernet port and tried to give a similar IP in the same range, which it says it is not possible to have both outside the IP addresses on the same subnet.

Hello

It is not possible to have an IP address "secondary" on the physics/logic interface of a Cisco firewall.

And as you've noticed, you cannot configure the same subnet on 2 different interface either.

We are talking about such a large configuration that you want to just migrate from completely to the ASA PIX and make a switch during a maintenance window?

Couldn't you just pass the ASAs 'outside' IP address address to that on the PIX and move the ASAs 'outside' of the PIX? Or not the ASAs "outside" IP address already some configured related to what makes this impossible?

• External SWF responsible for bringing forward

Hello

I am currently implementing to create a Web site using the approach platform scrolling game side. As the player/actor (a character who moves according to keyboard events) must always be at the top layer, I have difficulties to get my swf loaded on top of the drive. I am currently using Flash (as3) cs6.

Basically, in my big scene, there are 3 layers. 1 for actionscript, the HAS a player and finally for the background.

Player of layer contains mc and mc background player.

Background MC contains layers of visual and collisions.

Everything that has to do with visual, I have to put in the Visual Layer.

In the Visual Layer, I have backgroundcontainer mc

Then, I put the button in the mc backgroundcontainer to call the external swf, loading external swf file appears in the container.

(I use loading/unloading of the snippet of code to call the external swf file)

I want the external swf to appear at the top of the drive.

If you want an object to move at the top of all the others, you can use addChild (thatobject), where thatobject corresponds to the element you want to move to the top of what anyone else. I do not know what tent objects to affect your loop, but it seems to be changing the index of all of the child objects, rather than a single one.

• Remote Desktop for the external IP address is no longer works

Hello and thanks for your help.

For months I could access my desktop from my laptop (via Remote Desktop) / Tablet (via PocketCloud), both inside and outside my network.

Recently, the external IP address for my router has changed. As this happened, I was not able to access my desktop to the outside.

Other possible factors:

-A had a problem of invalid system disk on my desktop which has been resolved by changing the boot order.

-J' I registered a domain name, which I redirected to the old IP address. I have since updated the domain to redirect to the new IP address.

I tried the IP address and the URL (using my domain name) to try and MOP with no luck.

• Setting up Port Forwarding on router WRT54G, working with a WVC54GCA Wireless CAmers

I have the equipment in question and you need to know a few things when it come to put in place for Internet access. Before I aske the question, however, I have the following IP addresses associated with this project: WVC54GCA - 192.168.2.102, router WRT54G - 192.168.2.1, the questions are:

1. How do you define Port Forwarding on every element.
2. Should the two articles have static IP addresses.
3. Once the port forwarding is set, what is the structure of the URL to access the camera?

Any help would be appreciated, summer tear my hair on it. Seems simple, but obviously not. I'm missing something.

Thank you

For port forwarding, you will first need to set the camera to a fixed LAN IP address (static).

If your router uses the range of 192.168.2.100 thanks 192.168.2.149 DHCP servers, then 192.168.2.102 is an unauthorised fixed address. With the Linksys routers, any fixed LAN IP address must be outside the range of the DHCP server.

Here are the rules of use of the fixed LAN IP addresses with Linksys routers. (Note: these rules were written for the 192.168.1.x subnet.) Since you're using the 192.168.2.x subnet, change all addresses accordingly):

With Linksys, routers, a fixed (static) IP LAN addresses must be assigned in the device that uses the address. If you need to enter the fixed address to the computer, printer or camera, not in the router.

When you use a Linksys router, any fixed LAN IP address must be outside the DHCP server rank (typically 192.168.1.100 thru 192.168.1.149), and may not end with 0, 1 and 255.

That's why any fixed LAN IP address would normally be of the order of
192.168.1.2 thru 192.168.1.99 or
192.168.1.150 thru 192.168.1.254
assuming that you always use the default DHCP server line.

In addition, in the computer, when you configure a static LAN IP address, you need to set the "Subnet mask" 255.255.255.0 and the 'default gateway' on 192.168.1.1 and "DNS server" to 192.168.1.1. Note that some network devices can not use server proxy DNS at 192.168.1.1. In this case, the value "DNS server" your real address of Internet DNS server (found in the router when connected to the Internet).

It is also important that the same value static LAN IP address no two devices on your network.

**********************

After you gave your camera at a fixed LAN IP address, then go in "Port Redirection" in the router and configuring the ports one (or more) to the address LAN IP fixed camera.

In order to access your camera from the Internet, you will need to either:

(1) get a fixed Internet IP address (static) address from your ISP and configure your router to use this address, or

(2) use a free service such as DDNS. DDNS allows you to use a dynamic Internet IP address, but can connect you by using the same URL.

I hope this helps.

• Retrieve the external IP address of the router from a paralytic

Hello

I'm working on a workflow, that the provisions, a complete paralytic, I have nearly all that work, the only issue I am running into is not able to shoot/get the external IP address of the router once that vApp is put into service. Does anyone know which API can I gives the floor to get that information? I have attached a screenshot of the NAT tab in the firewall of vApp to give more details on the specific element, I'm trying to recover. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Thank you

J

Here's an excerpt from one of my workflows in test I use to inspect a vApp on vCloud Director with vCO 5.5 5.5:

System.log("=== Network Configurations ===");
var networkConfigurations = vApp.getVappNetworkConfigurations();
for each (cfg in networkConfigurations){
System.log("href: "+cfg.href);
System.log("Description: "+cfg.description);
System.log("isDeployed: "+cfg.isDeployed);
var netConfig = cfg.configuration;
System.log("ipScope: "+netConfig.ipScope);
var routerInfo = netConfig.routerInfo;
if (routerInfo != null){
System.log("External IP: "+routerInfo.externalIp);
}
}

I would like to know if this is useful, I just double it checked by running against one of my vApps has a similar configuration (NAT and Port Forwarding) and it displays the correct external IP address for me.

• public ip address for asa

Hello...

We have router Cisco No. 2851 and asa firewall. We have configured on the connected he for phones IP and ISP router. The ISP directly plugged into the router and asa firewall connected to the router. We want to configure VPN on the router. We have the available public ip address. If I configure VPN on the firewall to configure the local ip address of firewall to the public ip address. SO how do you configure the firewall local ip to public ip? Where we can set up, average on the router or firewall. Please see the configuration of my router and firewall...

Help, please...

The ASA would generally when configure you your public IP address. The firewall must normally have a public IP address on the external interface for this work. Once it does, you can perform the dynamic NAT for outbound connections ("global (outside) 1 xxx.xxx.xxx.185 netmask 255.255.255.255" does this).

But on the config you plugged your external interface address private (RFC 1918):

interface Ethernet0/3

Speed 100

full duplex

nameif outside

security-level 0

IP 192.168.255.2 255.255.255.252

In addition, it is that a 30 only gives you two addresses - one for the ASA and the other for Gi0/0 of the router (by this config you have also attached). It is a weird Setup, but it seems to have been hacked together to work using the statement of routing on the router "ip route xxx.xxx.xxx.184 255.255.255.248 192.168.255.2.

It's really a bit of a mess and extending further may be possible but will make it even more complicated. I advise you to have someone to sit down and rework the way public IP addresses are routed to make it look like a more typical configuration.

• Port forwarding rules missing WNR1000V3

I read a few posts here that may be similar, but they are so old, that threads are blocked. I'm trying to help out a local company add some rules to redirect to their server port WNR1000V3 more.

They must have some configuration of port forwarding already because they are able to access an existing via RDP server so there is a rule somewhere for port 3389. However, it is has nothing listed in respect of port forwarding.

My view on it after scratching my head for several hours, it's that there is either a port forwarding rules defined and running, but they are not displayed in the user interface, OR there is some screen that I have not found (was all!) where port forwarding is also configured.

I think it's the first because there is no rule for the listed FTP, but if I try to add a new FTP rule, it displays a "conflict of Port with other services".

Firmware is V1.0.2.62_60.0.87 although the router points out that there is an update.

There is a known issue like this with this model? It seems a few years old.

Thank you, Rob.

Sorry, I would have given an update on that. I am aware of what means the error and it was probably that a rule on this port unless it was not displayed. I hoped that export Netgear configuration could be a human readable script (found on the Cisco routers), but it's not.

After discussion about ServerFault and checking some of the suggestions there, it became clear that something was broken enough with the router. An update does not solve so I have taken note of all the settings and did a reset.

That solved the problem. My theory is that some bugs in an earlier version of the firmware caused a bad record in order to be there for port forwarding. One that actually worked, but could not be displayed.

Cheers, Rob.

• Limited number of ports forwarding with WAG54G2?

Hello, I have a simple question... I'm looking to buy a WAG54G2, I downloaded the manual to check if there was a limit of ports to send because I know that it was a limitation on previous models, but I've found no information about it.

Please can someone tell me if there is still such a restriction on this model (I think limit 10 ports on WAG54G)?

Thank you

Colin.

WAG54G2 have still 10 entries for Port Forwarding (see this ), however, you can give a range of ports if you have more than 10 entries... (for example: If you have 11, 36, 48, 1014, 5214, 6452, you can just give him a range say: 11-6452, it will cover all ports between 11 and 6452)...

• RV130W - Firewall locks? Port forwarding no longer works!

Hey all,.

I have a Cisco RV130W router, which seems to have problems with the Port Forwarding type stuff. Port forwarding is without a doubt done properly (as I did on all other RV130W) and the ports actually work for a few hours or maybe more, but then it's like she goes down on the lock and blocks all traffic that passes through.

My solution is to reboot the router for port forwarding works again.

I can't access management "distance" more when this happens. I can access the Web Interface via LAN and Internet and network continues to operate correctly - DHCP and all.

I'm under the new firmware.

Any ideas? Thank you!

Hello Jeff,.

Sorry the camera does not work as expected. I have seen this problem before and I think that you would see if you were doing a capture of packets across the Wan is the router receives a SYN, but never respond with a SYN ACK. We have found a workaround is to, I suspect that you have single port forwarding enabled, try to configure the same ports in the range of port forwarding page. Configure the ports of departure and end in the same port number, and remove the single port forwarding configuration. I hope this helps.

• RV042 firewall & Port forwarding

I install a RV042 on a SBS client network. In the configuration, I noticed that there is a place for port forwarding where I guess I could open the smtp, http, https ports...

But there is also access rules in the firewall section that seem to be the same, except that you can program them.

This is, do I have to set up the two, or if only one of them, which one?

Thanks in advance for the advice.

Bob Showalter, Packer International

Bob,

You must configure the port forwarding, except if you want to specify a source and a destination that the package is granted or denied; you would then both.

hope this helps,

• Need help with the port forwarding for a XBox remote Streaming

I have a router R6200v2 and need help with port forwarding.

I came across this set of instructions for setting up stream port forwarding XBox remotely from anywhere

http://kinkeadtech.com/2015/07/how-to-stream-Xbox-one-to-Windows-10-from-anywhere-with-Internet/

I have no idea when it comes to such things and I want to make sure I do it correctly without messing up my existing home network.

Port Forwarding and triggering Port pages setup look very different from what the guy uses. Can someone walk me through what I do to set up please?

Hi @varxtis,

You must enter them in the field for a start external Port and external completion Port. You will need to send individually except for the range of 49000-65000. The steps are as follows.

1. create a Service name (it could be something else that you cannot use the same service name twice. Ex. XBOX1, XBOX2 and so forth.)

2. Select the type of service (TCP, UDP or both)

3 entry 5050 times a start external Port and external endpoints.

4. Select the IP address of your XBOX.

5. Select apply.

6 do the same for other port numbers. To the beach, use 49000 for the external departure Port and for the external completion Port 65000.

Kind regards
