Your power plan information isn't available - and default Windows 7 missing power management

I recently installed Win 7 Home Premium 64 bit on my laptop HP Pavilion DM1-4027sa (ships with the 32-bit version, but I wanted to install more than 4 GB of memory where the change in 64-bit).  Initially, all default power plans were presented and Windows Experience Index has worked.  Then somewhere along the line of the installation of a large number of windows updates (including SP1) and install the latest HP Power Manager (the root of the problem, in my opinion), the default power disappeared and it stopped the test Windows Experience Index working (details below).  I searched these forums and the internet more widely for a solution and have already tried the following:

1 uninstalled HP Power Manager (the first thing I did).
2 run cmd as administrator and run the powercfg line - RESTOREDEFAULTSCHEMES.  Run powercfg-LIST before and after just lists the GUID feeding "381b4222-f694-41f0-9685-ff5bb260df2e '.»»  The fact that he has only this one is my reason to suspect HP Power Manager software deleted my system ('High Performance' etc.) windows default patterns
3. the winsat.log file shows that the system to be able to 'High Performance' missing (8c5e7fda-e8bf-4a96-9a85-a6e23a8c635c) prevents performance Win of work index test:

As well, the default settings have been removed (probably by HP Power Manager) is it possible to re - install the Win 7 default power management without making a long system repair?  (I have installed since many things that literally took days.  So I really hated to have to all downwind just to fix this power scheme)
Thank you in advance to anyone who can answer this question.

I think I have solved this problem.  The information in the links below I created .pow files for all default windows using plans/plans (energy saving, high performance and balance) on an another Windows 7 laptop (a Lenovo N200 with a power management which had not been ruined by the program of management of power supply by the manufacturer).  I then imported these power schema files into my HP laptop and, fingers crossed, everything works as it should again.  I hope it will help someone else who has the same problem after installing the HP Power Manager (it is no doubt HP Power Manager that caused the problem in the first place).

This can happen if there is management of a manufacturer of PC running electricity and it has been reported in some Samsung netbooks & others.

If so, find the 'utility' Samsung Fast start in Samsung program files [in the start menu, all programs files].  Start it and select Disable.  If this option does not exist then just uninstall it in the Control Panel, programs & features.  You will gain full access to your power options & lose anything that this utility does not have one thing that you can't do it yourself.

Make sure you have no management utility of the power of the machine to a PC running.  Your symptoms resembles those to have the utility Samsung "Fast start" running - find on the start menu, all programs & open, and then click the Disable setting [or simply uninstall it as it doesn't do anything for you that you can't do it yourself].

There is a utility of same useless in many PC Sony, but I don't know his name.  Browse all all programs with Sony records in their title.  Read the manual or check on their Web site.

If you're on a Samsung or Sony [he possibly also others], then there is a 'useful' utility, installed by the PC manufacturer that is inhibiting your ability to set power plans.  Quick start to type in the search box of the start menu & if such a utility exists then go ahead & turn it off - there is no unwanted side effects.  It doesn't help that you can't do yourself.

For the other PC, navigate to the folder of the machine in all programs and search for any similar name - quick start, fast, mess-up-your-power sleep - options.exe, that sort of thing.

Because the symptoms for the first time by people with this afliction is always - can't change what happens when I change the cover - I think you'll be right as rain when you have disabled the quick start.

Let me know how you go,

    {I would say, 'Good luck', but you won't need luck.}

  • Where can I get a copy of the backup and for windows xp hp Recovery Manager

    Compaq Presario SR2010NX

    Windows XP

I had to reinstall Windows on another drive of Windows for the C: drive so that I can make a recovery of the D: partition. However, now I have more have "HP Backup and Recovery Manager" to run Windows and cannot make a recovery with F10 at startup.

What I need to solve the problem in my view is another copy of the "HP Backup and Recover Manager". Where can I download this from where to buy it? I found a copy for Windows 7 and copies for laptops, but nothing that I need. Any help is greatly appreciated.

    Hello:

As you discovered, is not available for download or purchase, etc.

Why you can get it online for laptops, for hints. I looked too.

I guess you have tried one of the downloads for laptop to XP, and it did not work?

    I know I should.

The only way, in my view, that it is possible for you to get the program, is to buy a set of recovery discs and use them to reinstall XP. They should reinstall XP and all programs from your PC and recreate your recovery partition.

You can see if HP has them by reading the info on the link below (I doubt they make, but you may as well ask).

If HP does not, you can still get this provider on the link below.

    Hi Srinivas,

I found it very difficult to formulate the question I really didn't know what to ask to get the right answers.

I asked a couple of friends too, and it turned out that all I had to do was to press view and Show Toolbar - then the aeroplain of paper (that you must support so that the message is sent), the trombone etc.were all visible. I had everything but tried that.

  • Recycle and broken Windows Win7HP bin file manager

    I broke my Win7HP yesterday...

The Recycle Bin icon is missing. If I open the file manager, I get the indirect approach of the magnifying glass and no results file!

I'm not exactly sure how, but I think that it is removing a file that is uploaded to skydrive.  Nevertheless, the net effect on my system is a disaster.

I tried running the FixIt for questions of funds, but he said that he had no problem.  The system is completely up-to-date, and Security Essentials scans clean.

    Need help please,.

    Thank you.

The man was extreme, if you know what I mean.  I had to pay Microsoft $$ for help.

In fact, it took two calls and two interventions to clear.  (still not sure exactly what it was).

What they have determined is that my user profile was irreparably damaged.  It has to be copied to a new profile, and then deleted...

In the meantime, they scanned rootkit, malware and viruses.  All clear. (at this time I was pretty sure that must have a possibility).

After the new profile, I had no any problems.  But the passage is very energetic and has taken a lot of time to 'fix' things as they were before.  Try not to do...

What he started (in my opinion as a Windows power amateur guy), I was uploading documents to the Skydrive, when I removed them from the desktop computer before transfer was complete. There was some kind of conflict, and things were never the same with the file manager and the trash.

There you go. Thanks for the help Imran M.

    Be happy.

  • Be able to Project Information is not available / cannot change

We had some problems with our Office Vista Ultimate gel & needing to restart, so one thing I was looking at if she's going to sleep or something. But when I went to the power management to change the settings I got the message:

Your power plan information isn't available.

After searching forums like this one, I tried the following:

There is only one user, and the user account it I'm listed as the administrator.

I run powercfg (right click Administrator) to restore the default values. Next time the computer is started, it became clear the plan had changed, but I still couldn't access it myself

Tried running powercfg without restredefault line, but he would not go, nothing happened.

Ran the msc to see what he says about the power, if it has been started or disabled or what, and it was not yet in the list.

I tried to look in the registry of our other vista computer but I don't really know what keys to watch or what they should say. I could probably (with guidelines) export the appropriate registry from one computer to the other keys, but I would need to know which ones who.

One thing I didn't that just occurred to me, is to check in the bios to see if there is a bet on. Next time I start, I'll check that.

Once I get this problem solved, I'll see if the freezing issue still needs to be addressed, and I can post another question on this subject.

    Thank you

    Amanda B

Looks like that you're not totally extraction of the file from the .zip file but clicking inside the window "unzipper".  Make sure that you extract the .reg file in a different location.  You can then double click on the extracted file, OR, if you want to see the option 'Merge' you have to right-click on the extracted .reg file.  Left click or right click, the end result is the same, in the sense that this file will replace what is in your current registry, with what happens in the .reg file.

You can post the screenshots in this forum using these instructions.  I've seen the downloaded file (I am).  I can't is it seems OK, but I can't really say it's course, but only that it is likely.
