I was passing through normally when I received a pop up message that says a threat has been detected, and Mozilla had a security patch that I have to download. This is the expedition of phishing malware believer, I closed the browser and restart the computer without having to download anything. When I restarted the computer, everything was normal and I googled for information on what had just happened, to see if I really needed a security patch. A forum suggested that I already have a virus/malware that caused the popup, and that I should deal with the possibility that updating Firefox. Then I refreshed Firefox, which seemed harmless enough. The update took the time, so I finally closed the window to refresh. Maybe I should let the window update but it was taken way too long - after that it's my problem to start with the error message.

  There you should find a folder named "Mozilla". try to rename it to something like "Mozilla.bak" (or delete it if you don't like your old firefox bookmarks, passwords and customizations) and then try to restart firefox...
