Z1 - G1: trying to upgrade CPU on Z1 - G1
I have a Z1 2012 workstation with an Intel Core processor i3-2120 3.30 GHz CPU and I was wondering if I could switch the cpu to an i5 or i7. Added 8G RAM now 16 g, but did not help the speed. Have searched all over the site to get response but do not know specific cpu that would fit on the motherboard. Any help would be appreciated even to point to the documentation, thanks a lot, TIA
Here's what I found.
According to the maintenance manual [Page 8] your system has a chipset Intel C206 with ' Support for the Intel® Xeon® processor E3 family or Intel® Core™ processors 2nd generation up to 95W "
Web Intels site specifically States these processors compatible with the C206 chipset.
I suggest you install the latest BIOS and Chipset updates available and perform a full backup of all important files before proceeding with the upgrade.

Hello people,
I tried to upgrade my Qosmio F10-101 1.7 to 1.8 GHz CPU, but the whole system runs very slowly.
In fact, it runs up to 500 MHz and it is not possible to operate at full capacity.
Finally, I went back to my original CPU, 1.7 Pentium chip.
I think Toshiba is using a method to control the CPU serial number and reject any new CPU unless it is replaced by them.
Does anyone have an idea how to make my notebook to accept the 1.8 GHz Centrino?Concerning
KyprosHello
The fact is that after changing the motherboard or a unit firmware must be updated.
Unfortunately, it is not possible to update the firmware for a common user.
This can be done only by the Toshiba service partner.
After this update the CPU has to work with maximum efficiency.I guess it's a question why the CPU works only with 500 MhZ

Upgrading CPU for HP Pavilion dv9730nr notebook Entertainment
I'm looking for the best/most fast Intel processor to upgrade a HP Pavilion dv9730 Entertainment notebook. The motherboard is a Quanta 30CB. Aware of the processor is an Intel Core 2 Duo T5450 1.66 GHz. I am trying to upgrade this laptop for my grandson to play some of the new games of intense action. I looked at different forums, but most of them is at least two years. I also watched the service for laptops manual series dv9700. The top page in their list processor is the Intel Core 2 Duo T7700 2.4 GHz. Since most of these lists are old, I want to know if there are faster processors that are compatible with the laptop and a motherboard safely.
Only, you are sure to install a processor originally proposed by HP on this range of laptops. As noted above, it is not really a mother Quanta is a motherboard HP, full owner. There is also no way to improve the system without radical changes in case of cooling and engineering tips; the only CPU cooler is the original factory unit unless you do another and even in this case, the tight fit limits what you can really do. The fsb and the power must remain the same, as well.

Hello
I want to upgrade Lenovo Z560 CPU, but I'm not sure about this. I see that CPU is easily accessible and it supports the G1 decision-making (988pins) which gives me a lot of options here as i5 and i7 first generation. Specifically, I want to upgrade to i7 extreme but I don't know if my motherboard is capable for it or not, if not then what other options I have i7 range. Can anyone help me please with this. I recently updated the BIOS from v2.11 to v2.15 that caused my windows 8.1 crashing but in some way, I solved this problem and with that please let me know if there is anything else I need to know before upgrading CPU. I have already ordered 2 x 4 GB DDR3 SO - DIMM 204-pin RAM Corsair. I tried to call the tech Department of Lenovo. but they weren't any help. Here, any help will be much appreciated.
Thank you

G61-110SA: upgrade CPU G61-110SA
As a pc engineer, I tried to upgrade my laptop to HP G61 aging wives with a better processor of speck. It was equipped with an Intel pentium T4300 2.1 Ghz CPU P 487 outlet again. I tried to change to a P8600, but the laptop refuses to boot?
I did several updates on laptops (with similar P CPU socket) and they are all worked well. Even the last one I did on a Dell Inspiron is a breeze.
It is the first HP laptop I tried.
Has anyone else had the same problem or can advise please.
Thank you
Well, the first thing to do is the Manual:
See the list of motherboards on page 3-4. Your laptop is a GL40 chipset, which is designed for Dual Pentium and Celeron processors and then the GM45 is for Core 2 Duo. The P8600 not compatible with the GM45 card, but would be a P8700. The GL40 jury is not fully compatible with all the features of a Core 2 Duo.

Product VY440EA #ABU number
Hi, I hope someone can help me I'm trying to upgrade the processor in this computer laptop celeron m 900 to a dual core 2 duo. According to the manual of hp, this laptop is compatible with intel p8700 and intel t6400, I tried both these processors in laptop but I just went with turn signals and numlock caps every time so I guess that these chips are not compatible. Someone you will suggest a dual core chip that will work in this model, because there is not much information available for this laptop. Thank you
Yes, I had this sorting in the end, it took a T8100 with no problems (I made a stupid mistake, a tiny strand of copper d fell into the socket and was fill in some of the pins of the processor when it was inserted, and that's why he could not recognize the cpu - DOH!) once removed and cleaned it was starting well with T6400 and T8100 I opted for T8100. Note to everyone with this laptop T8700 WON'T work with this machine, EVEN IF THE MANUAL STATES IT WILL as it is only FSB800 T8700 is fsb 1066

DV7 - 3165ev: HP Pavilion dv7 - 3165ev change/Upgrade CPU
I saw in the manual series DV7 cpu i7 support, but not for specific models like dv7 - 3165ev.
My goal is to replace the i5 m430 with an i7-720QM or 820QM i7, as they seem to be compatible with my model.
Is there a limitation of BIOS and the system board that these CPU may not work?
Here is the Service Manual:
This manual seems to relate only to the Quad Core models. Other similar models of dv7 motherboard is different for the dual core and quad core so models before trying to upgrade the processor, I would check the motherboard model number that is generally printed inside the memory compartment.
It must be 575477-001 if the Quad Core processors are at work.

Unless you already have a QuickTime Pro key, you can't. Apple stopped selling them.
If you do open it, choose recording in QuickTime Player 7 menu and put your key.

I have an IMAC mid-2010 and tried to upgrade to el capitan of lion [software Mac OS X Lion 10.7.5 (11G63b)] but I get this message: INSTALL_ERROR_DISTRIBUTION_SIGNED_BY_APPLE
How to solve this. I think that's what keeps me to sync my iPhone 6 and IPAD PRO I got the year last, and 1 month ago, respectively, with the iMac. I tried to download iTunes separately, but it does not work. Memory is 1 t, processor 3.2 GHz Intel Core i3. Memory DDR3 at 1333 MHz 12 GB
Make sure your time and date is correct. If this is not the case, correct it and try the install again.
Remove anti-virus, anti-malware or module security or performance or system cleanup tools according to the instructions of the respective providers. Try again.
If this fails, restart the iMac by Safe Mode like which clears and regenerates the system puts in cache, among other details, reboot normally and see if the Mac App Store download starts working. Then re-download the installer of El Capitan, and then try again.
If all else fails, please after the release of Etrecheck as a starting point - which will indicate the specific hardware configuration nd can show if there is something wonky openly what is installed.

Upgrade CPU on Satellite Pro C660-219
Hello.
I wonder just to upgrade CPU on my laptop to get some perfomance.
I did the upgrade of RAM to 8 gb and 64 bit Win7.
Now, it's processor i3 - 370 M (3 m cache, 2.40 GHz).I'm sure I can go to i3 - 390 M (3 m Cache, 2.66 GHz) processor, but it will be useless IMO.
It has same Cache and just a little bit faster CPU count:
http://Ark.Intel.com/PL/compare/52955, 49020I need someone to answer the question: can I ride this laptop an i5 or i7 without problem with compatibility with the motherboard?
Sorry for my poor English, but I think you will have a point of my case.

Tomasz Kowalski> I need someone to answer the question: can I ride this laptop an i5 or i7 without problem with compatibility with the motherboard?
You should know that upgrades of processors are not supported by any laptop manufacturer. This means that no one can tell if a CPU would be fully compatible and cause no worries. These upgrades are own risk. You could read this statement from Toshiba about upgrades.
[Is it possible to upgrade the CPU or GPU of a Toshiba laptop computer? | http://APS2.Toshiba-tro.de/KB0/TSB9401AX0001R01.htm]The point is that even the chipset which is part of the motherboard would support the new processor, BIOS would not fully compatible and the combination of BIOS and the new processor may cause new troubles.
The camera seems to supports the INTEL HM55 chipset and to my knowledge, the Toshiba Satellite C660/C665/Pro C660 series is based on a Dual Core/Quad Core Processor (* Intel Arrandale processors *)
So if you want to find a compatible CPU, you should check the processors owned by the family of processors Intel Arrandale.

I have a late 2009 iMac. When I tried to upgrade to El Capitan. He said that the CHIP shows the h/d is a failure and can not be updated. I have install an external withEl of h/d Cap but it is very slow. the h/d is USB 3 but the iMac's USB 2. the h/d is only 5400 RPM. a 7200 RPM 7 / would accelerate the iMac?
No, because the limiting factor is the computer is USB 2.0, which is how it connects any external drive apart the external drive. As USB 2.0 is much slower, there is no real advantage to a 7200 RPM drive. What you need is a Firewire enclosure that supports FW800 which is much faster than USB 2.0.

> one last thing my qosmio I NVIDIA GeForce Go 7600 256 MB, but I don't know if it is possible to change or not. If possible, what video card will be the best?
No, the graphics card can not be upgraded
What you can do, it is memory and the upgrade of the HARD drive. This should be very easy and should cause no serious problems.
Upgrading CPU is little tricky.
On the page of the Ark from Intel, you can check what are the processors supported by Intel 945 PM Express chipset
http://Ark.Intel.com/products/27858These are:
