Zbook 15 Gen 1:15 Zbook of i5 4200 m Dual Core upgrade to a Quad Core i7; Is this possible?

Hello. I have this laptop. Is it possible to replace the double with a QuadCore i7 i5 processor? If so, I could be upgraded. I'm not sure if the Zbook dual core laptop shares the same motherboard as a quad core.

Thank you very much!

Gary

Hi Gary

Yes you are right: you have to change to Council for the Quad core processor upgrade. It will cost you a lot compared to the price of the laptop.

  • Choose a laptop: I have two choices

I have two laptops to choose from for the first edition and Photoshopping. There will be videos for editing a ton, but nothing for 2 min and nothing fancy, that requires a lot of rendering. I know that these are the most desirable, but the budget has decreased.

    Lenovo Y50

    Intel core i5 4th Gen

    8 GB RAM

    1 TB HD + 8 GB SSHD

    NVIDIA GTX 860M

    and...

    Z710 Lenovo

    Intel core i7 4710MQ

    2.4 Ghz

    8 GB RAM

    1 TB HD

    GeForce 745

The prices are the same. And I will be upgrading to 16 GB of RAM.

    Then...

The i7 is better on the z710. That's right Quad Core? But isn't the i5?

I don't even know the speed of treatment on the y50.  But the 8 GB SSHD adds something important, is it not? And the graphics card is better...

    Which should I choose?

    Thank you!

The processor is the first and most important.  Certainly the z710 is by far the best choice between the two.

What I find interesting is that Intel specifications for i7 4710MQ are actually 2.5 GHz

Here's the info on the dual core i5

This hybrid drive with the small SSD is of little value and the worst of all the part of the hard disk is a disk 5400 RPM

Be sure to what z710 you watch: "Z710 Standard models come with 1366 x 768 wide screen resolution." It's under Adobe Premiere standard required.  Also, some the Z710 I watched the 1 TB drive is also 5400 RPM.  If you get this in any unit you will find t strongly suggest upgrading to an SSD (good).

These units have USB3 ports.  If you get one of the best USB3 Flash Drives and you do the upgrade of the disk internal SSD, you'll have a pretty decent first computer editing for most of the media of 1080.

  • T7V51EA: ZBOOK 15 G3 - MXM... what product code?

    Hello world

I want to know what model of Zbook G3 15 MXM slot for GPU upgrade.
I'm in Italy and I'm looking for this product code: T7V51EA with over-pants w5710m GPU. Is this a MXM have?

What codes of laptops have the MXM slot (computer 15 "laptop)?

    Thanks for the help guys

You have more than one product. The Zbook 15 Studio G3 is a different laptop, as the 15U. The U15 lacks an MXM slot and neither does the model Studio. In both cases, the video is soldered to the motherboard. Zbook 15 G3 Mobile Workstation models all have an MXM slot and understand those you list a MXM graphics card. You can't assume that you can replace and upgrade the video card with something other than an official part of HP. MXM video cards are not in 'standard' as maps of office. Also the nVidia Quadro and AMD over-pants maps use a different radiator.

I can personally verify the configuration of the workstation Mobile G3 Zbook I an and that you actually installed an inside MXM graphics card and I found the manual for the 15U and Studio and the nether show an MXM slot. Return ticket for any other information you might need.

  • ZBook 15: ZBook HP 15 upgrade question

    Hello

I have a HP Zbook 15 G2 and I want to upgrade my laptop. The vehicle currently has a 256 GB SSD and 8 GB of RAM DDR3L. I would like to insert an additional SSD and possibly another 8 GB of RAM if it is possible. I have no idea how to do that well or if this is possible at all, is there any guide autour on how to do that for my model? Are there enough hours/room for that niche?

    Thanks in advance.

You have a SATA 2.5 inch hard drive installed. See the '1' which is an open RAM slot and '2' is a slot of free RAM and the thing across left to right the image just above the '1' is a connector m2 on the left with the operation of the screw holes on the right. You can put one of them in this niche, and it will be a hard drive.

If you need assistance. I just put one of these in my Zbook 15 G3 MWS and it's silly fast. I use it as the startup disk and then have a SATA drive like yours for storage.

    Hello:

You need this driver.  If the driver will automatically install the driver for serial port, and then manually install the device by navigating to the folder of the driver that was created when you ran the file.

This file will be located in C:\SWSetup\sp68428.  Make sure that the include subfolders is selected and the driver should install.  Then restart.

  • Zbook 15: Primary memory locations

    Hello

I think of a memory upgrade for my 15 zbook. I have the two expansion slots occupied and before you actually buy the memory I wanted to check if I am able to make the change myself. So I tried from the memory of the expansion slot at the primary slots, those under the keyboard.

At this place, I found the place for memory, but not slots for it.

No idea why, or what can I do in this case?

I've attached a picture of how my under-keyboard-slots looks like

Well the manual says flat there are 4 locations of memory. I also know that on a HP mobile workstation recent model units with dual core processors have 2 slots and equipped models of Quad Core processors have 4.

I also noted in the manual that the models Dual Core and Quad Core use different motherboards. I'll guess your laptop computer has a processor dual-core and the motherboard has only 2 slots memory, expansion that is more easily accessible slots only. If your laptop computer has a processor Quad Core explanation would then become more obscure and there must be an oversight at the factory during the production of the motherboard, and you should be entitled to a replacement laptop. In my opinion, if it is a dual core of the processor itself to limits you to 16 gigs so that you could not install modules of 4 x 8 gig anyway.

Post back and we do know.

  • Zbook 15: Zbook 15 - the SSD upgrade!

    Hello world

I have the HP Zbook 15 (G1), and I want to upgrade the current (Samsung 850 Pro 1 TB SSD) storage with a capacity greater than one.

My current SSD performance according to (http://www.userbenchmark.com/) is:

    • The read up to 505 MB/s sequential mode
    • The sequential mode write up to 472 MB/s

I think to upgrade to Samsung 2 TB Evo 850 2.5 "SATA III SSD.  It is not a series like the one currently installed PRO, but according to its specifications, its performance seems very good:

    • The sequential read up to 540 Mbps mode
    • The sequential mode write up to 520 MB/s

I'm not sure that I really get this number of speced, but the performance difference will be perceptible with the 2 new cases of tuberculosis?

For records, list B & H reading & writing speed for the new Samsung 1 TB 850 PRO Series SATA 2.5 SSD "as:

    • The read up to 550 MB/s sequential mode
    • The sequential mode write up to 520 MB/s

    http://www.bhphotovideo.com/c/product/1063645-reg/samsung_mz_7ke1t0bw_850_pro_1tb_2_5.html

And for non PRO Series, the Samsung 2 TB Evo 850 2.5 "SATA III SSD as:

    • Up to 540 MB/s sequential read speed
    • Up to 520 MB/s sequential write speed

    http://www.bhphotovideo.com/c/product/1164289-reg/samsung_mz_75e2t0b_am_850_evo_2tb_2_5.html

    I really apprecaite any feedback...

    Best regards

Thanks for your advice, and that's what I'll do.

I'll not upgrade my current SSD with the new Samsung 2 TB Pro 850 will use the old storage SSD extrnal

See Page 94. Theoretically, you can use other video MXM cards but they are not quite as being standardized as desktop video cards and make sure that the heater is in the same place and the insertion point looks the same.
