Zbook G3 HP: HP Zbook Thunderbolt 3 Dock USB ports not working not
I have a HP Zbook Thunderbolt 3 dock on my HPZbook G3. I've recently updated the BIOS and the firmware to the latest version to solve other problems 'dock '. Am now at the latest for both. The two monitors and ethernet on the work of lightning 3, but none of the USB ports are active.
I am sure that the USB ports work, because they used to work before the update BIOS and firmware. Keyboard, mouse, or USB memory on the dock work.
I tried to go to the HP support and install the updates with the USB in it, but it didn't work. I have a workaround - just connect the laptop directly, but I'd like to get my fully functioning dock.
Device Manager does not display devices with questions. I'll try to update, but I don't know which one to look at.

Hello everyone.
I have a problem with my Zbook 14. Unfortunately, the built-in SSD has failed, and it seems that all data, including the recovery partitions, have now disappeared.
I already ordered the backup disks and HP will send them to me in a few days.
I would like to know what I can do with this discs to create a USB bootable since 14 Zbook does not come with any DVD player.
Please let me know. Thank you!
I solved the problem by using free software 2:
(1) I created an ISO of the DVD with DaemonTools Lite image;
(2) that I created a bootable USB using rufus.
Would be really nice if HP could send USB keys instead of the DVD, of course in charge anything for the service.

ZBook 17 G3: G3 Thundberbolt 3 dock of Zbook 17 questions
Has anyone gotten the 200W 3 Thunderbolt Zbook dock and all managed to make it work? I recently took delivery (a few months late) and cannot operate. When I plug it (and I made sure each driver I have is also present on the HP site), I start running in a series of questions.
- Device Manager indicates an unknown device which is shown with an id of vid_174c & pid_3074, which should be a hub 3074 ASMedia superspeed, but none that I try to get the drivers not installed works for this device.
- All of the USB ports on the laptop stop responding
- My connected monitors appear, but in Device Manager, I see two copies of the monitors connected through the dock, and each has an exclamation point that the device drivers are not installed.
- My ethernet seems to work fine
- Try to install any sort of updated drivers (found in various places on the web) results ASMedia a BSOD
- The laptop will be bad shut down or restart with the cable in place. Forcing a hard stop (power button for several seconds) sometimes results the laptop is able to start and other times it simply crashes to the POST screen.
- Unplug the docking cable, while the laptop is booted up only shows nothing unplugged. a reboot is required (usually a hard reboot) to get actually the mobile register that the dock is disconnected.
- Similarly, sometimes after a restart, the laptop will not register when I plug the dock, unless I have successfully completed a cycle of full restart where the laptop is connected to windows without the dock, and then been rebooted (no hard restart) and connected in a second time.
My current setup is a proc xeon 64 GB of RAM and the graphics card NVidia M4000M (running in only discreet mode via the BIOS settings). The only ones I haven't installed drivers are Intel video drivers, because I have disabled hybrid graph.
I'll add a link to the other thread, which has been more active lately, essentially dealing with the same issues. In this way, we have at least a place to continue the discussion...

Hi all
I have a HP Envy 17 of DV (j073ca) - I had a hard drive failure C: (still on the warranty but not the case for repair in time for my immediate work of the related requirements). After a clean install of 64 bit Win 8.1, I'm now re-installing drivers, but I still have an unknown device.
The alphanumeric string in the event of device tab is:
Device PCI VEN_8086 & DEV_8C3A & SUBSYS_1966103C & REV_04\3 & 11583659 & 0 & B0
I found other strings relative to that on the HP support site - seems to be associated with bluetooth.
I currently have a generic functional Bluetooth driver installed: ID USB\VID_8087 & PID_07DA\5 & 1A63D808 & 0 & 5 installed.
Hello
The hardware id is for the Intel Management Engine Interface - the driver is on the following link.

Windows 7 drivers for Bluetooth adapter
Good evening
I have a HP Envy M6 1150sa on thich I installed Windows 7 (shipped with Windows 8).
I have trouble getting the bluetooth device to maintain a connection with any device at all. I can scan for devices, connect to the device, but as soon as the wizard is closed the unit disconnects and remains disaconnected (grayed out in devices and printers). This is the case with multiple devices and the same thing happens every time. The same devices will be fixed to any other system bluetootch no way out other than this system so I guess that its associated software.
People could guide me to the best driver to use for the bottom hardware ID?
USB\VID_8087 & PID_07DA & REV_7869
USB\VID_8087 & PID_07DAThank you very much
Paul
Hello:
Similar to this is a feature of Intel bluetooth...
See if this driver works...
BTW... you should be able to use all the W7x64 drivers and software of the model that I posted the above BT driver.

Z580 battery (drivers or WIndows?)
Greetings!
I bought a laptop Lenovo Z580 and got the hard drive replaced with a samsung 830 series SSD (128 GB) with a new installation of W7, the store to the 750 GB hard drive in an external enclosure and I was all this at a very nice price. The laptop was awesome.
But for the battery.
From the first day I had only 1.5 to 2 hours on a full charge of battery problems. I did check the following:
1. fact that all device drivers have been installed since Lenovo Web site (or hard drive OEM, depending on which were most recent file). I did this because the SSD had a fresh W7 install first.
2. the fact that all the windows updates were installed
3 Levono power management has been implemented fully charged battery mode Mode and not the protection of the battery (where the battery capacity is limited, less than 100%)Problem was not resolved. I called the store and they gave me a new battery, no questions asked. DIN can't solve the problem.
Then they gave me a new laptop, with the SSD even put in. Did not work. It was two weeks in the purchase of the laptop.
I asked them to put the old HDD 750GB thinking that maybe it is the SSD. Does not solve the problem. (At this point, the laptop was as good as out of the box and I did not know THAT SSD has not caused the problem). I don't want to ask money back because I need exactly this configuration in this laptop, and at the price I got it, it is not possible (at least in the Netherlands). In addition, he's exhausted. Apart from this problem, the laptop is perfect.
During this time, I run the powercfg-energy and found a few USB devices not enter powersave mode. Output below:

CPU utilizationrocessor use is high
The average CPU utilization during the trace was high. The system consumes less power when the CPU usage average is very low. Examine the use of the processor for the individual processes determine the applications and services that contribute the most to the total CPU usage.
Average use (%) 6.49I made the corrections mentioned on a few sites on the internet, and well, these things are now gone. Maybe the situation is better now, but now I get about 3 hours on a charge.
I also noticed in the advanced power settings of all the profiles that the minimum CPU on the battery condition was 5%, I changed it to 0%. Why not.
Now, the only thing that bothers me little is the continuous fan on the side of the laptop. That's all the time. Is this normal? Its not particularly noisy, but when I hold it to my ear, I can imagine the fan is very busy. I changed the "heat" to "Super silent" Managment and reduced noise and availability of the battery goes up to 4 hours. Still not here. I expect at least 6 hours for a new laptop.
My gut feeling is something to do with the drivers (yet) or some problem of management of power between 4000 integrated graphics intel and nvidia chipset. In the BIOS, I can choose Optimus (both) or intel only. But ideally, I would use the nvidia gerforce and permanently turn off the intel 4000. How can I do safely? I don't want to go to the Device Manager and disable it. If my screen uses intel right here, its all gone then. Is it not?
But before you go in this direction, am I missing something? How a Lenovo can offer only 4 hours of battery out of the box? Is the problem with my expectation?
Hi all
Detachment to close this thread - my problem seems to have been resolved.
I'm not sure what it is resolved, but I did a number of things since then, including:
-Reinstall the chipset drivers intel from the website of intel rather than the OEM folder given by Lenovo. They seem to be release late last month.
-also updated the drivers from nvidia 630M - sequence also appears to have made a difference. I don't really know how it works maybe that wouldn't take a difference too, but I seem to be the case.
-in the lenovo energy management, there is an option to disable disk when not in use. It is not given you an option after how long, but I turned on. No matter what.
-in both mode balanced and power saver in the windows power settings, I changed the switch bank hard timeout to one minute. With 8 GB of RAM and page file reduced to 512 MB only, I don't think that my system needs read/write unless I have download/copy or sleep/hibernate implementation. It does nto creates problems with the disk access performance, at least not with my ssd.
-in advanced power settings, changed the wifi to run on maximum energy savings. changed setting to maximum power save everywhere, I saw.
-usb selective suspend has been activated. disabled, restarted. permit, rebooted.
-same setting for graphics card intel
Somethins must have worked. I get a nice 8 theoretical hours from the laptop now, almost 6 +.
I guess I'm fine with it now. Problem was in the software. I do not have compalaints with WIn7, but I guess all said and done, he must do a better job to save energy.

I'm sorry if this is covered elsewhere, but it would be possible to install something like the Huawei ME906E (link below) to the T440s?
http://consumer.Huawei.com/en/solutions/M2M-solutions/products/tech-specs/me906e-en.htm
Thanks for any help
At present the em7345 device may have incorrect material like USB\Vid_8087 & Pid_0911 IDs...
After bios boot T440s run check the hardware id and display the error '1802 unauthorized network card is plugged in.' and run the laptop stopped... Try again - "powering the laptop, turn on and error 1802", try again and try again... and bios will skip the em7345 control and run from Windows.
In the em7345 driver has EM7345_MBIM_only.exe, after the execution of this file will fix hardware like USB\VID_1199 & PID_A001 & MI_00 correct id. After material id correction the correct em7345 work after installing drivers, and after restarting the laptop correct bios includes the em7345 without error.
But correction of hardware id will not work on win 7, it works on win (verified) 8.1 and perhaps win8 (unaudited).
Sorry for the bad English, but I think the basic idea is understandable...

Parse the setupapi.dev.log file in Windows 8
Hi all..
I already asked my doubts about the analysis of file setupapi.dev.log in Windows 7 and I found answers to my question through the community.
My question here is Windows 8.
Here's the file identifiers. Can someone help me understand what each term stands for?

2 [device (initiated hardware) {-SW\{cfd669f1-9bc2-11d0-8299-0000f822fe8a}\{0A4252A0-7E70-11D0-A5D6-28DB04C10000}]
3 [Setup Device Installer (Insider material) online - root\ms_ndiswanipv6\0000]
As far as I understand, the file stores information about a device when it was first installed on the system. In Windows 7, I saw identifiers like "usb\vid_8087 & pid_0024\5 & 225f8902 & 0 & 1" and I understood that it's a USB device. But what about the identifiers provided above?
Also "[device Install (Insider material) - SWD\WPDBUSENUM\_?]. "[_USBSTOR #Disk & Ven_hp & Prod_v220w & #1406033570007387 & 0 Rev_1100 #{53f56307-b6bf-11d0-94f2-00a0c91efb8b}]" is the identifier of the unique session with regard to the installation of a HP flash drive in Windows 8. I had four sessions for the same device when it has been installed in Windows 7 and I was able to obtain from the vendor ID, product ID, etc. of those. I'll be able to get this information in a system Windows 8?
Thank you.

HP ZBook 15 G3: USB Ports
I have a HP ZBook 15 G3 Mobile Workstation (Engery Star) - product number - V2W12UT #ABA.
There is a USB Port on the left side of the laptop and two USB Ports on the right side and two USB Type-C (compatible Thunderbolt) ports on the right side.
3 USB ports say "SS" next to ports. I know that this means they are Super Speed but are the ports USB 2.0 or 3.0?
3, not 2... SS = USB 3.0

Hey guys.
I'm going crazy here.
For the last 3 days I tried to make this high-end, high-performance, extremely expensive device works.
The problems started with Windows deplayment (via WinPE and heat DSM, I finally managed to make it work), then the docking USB ports not working do not (still do not work) and finally, extremely slow process of closing IF the network cable is plugged.
I did everything what can be found online. Updated the BIOS, updated the driver, disabled startup items, check the hard drive, disabled the virtual memory pagefile at shutdown of compensation...
If I hit the restart or shutdown, it takes anywhere from 10 to 30 minutes to actually do. If the network cable is removed, it takes a few seconds. There is no update being installed, I tried with different users (with or without administrator rights).
I honestly don't know what to do next...
Help, please.
Iulian.
I think that I found a solution to my problem.
Device which was causing all this fuss was AsMedia USB hub.
I installed Windows (with DSM) without any drivers, disabled the device with 174C VID and PID 2074, then added the drivers and applications HP one by one.
After installing everything (about 30 packages), I have reactivated the device and allowed him to install the drivers automatically.
It worked!
I'm still trying and I want to try it a few times, but for the moment, it worked!

Zbook dock: Zbook Dock: appropriate equipment
Is August 3, troubleshooting guide to sign must "click the remove safely icon in the notification area, at the far right of the taskbar". Where is this icon? I have the icon of love at first sight, but it does not offer any option to delete. The link is:
http://h20565.www2.HP.com/hpsc/doc/public/display?sp4ts.Oid=11122586 & docLocale = en_US & docid = emr_na-C0...
In this same document he links to dock Zbook (4AA6-5088EEW) white paper that says for the cable, just pull "to remove the HP Elite docking station with Thunderbolt 3 or HP ZBook with Thunderbolt 3 in your HP laptop or HP ZBook Mobile Workstation, it is recommended to first disconnect the dock wait icon Thunderbolt (see Figure 3) in the system status bar is gone then put the laptop or. "mobile workstation in the waking state, hibernation, restart or stop.
Which is correct?I think I solved the problem to my satisfaction, I hope it helps others.
Also, I tried to get more information of HP chat support, but they left hear only the computer off and then unplug. It would be the 3rd option HP (and the worst option) to follow no real clarity on the procedure of HP. The Zbook attach end of nightmares?
I believe that the white paper (4AA6-5088EEW, August 2016) made the most sense, although it may lack key information:
http://WWW8.HP.com/h20195/v2/GetPDF.aspx/4AA6-5088EEW.PDFThe white paper says to unplug the dock (without preparation), what seems dangerous to me. Only, I'm ready to do if the USB devices plugged into the dock to comply with Windows "Rapid withdrawal" of the policy in the Device Manager settings. The keyboard and the mouse need not of settings, since they are different profiles of USB. Someone braver than I can try to ignore the parameters of "Quick release" to find out what's going on :-).
The political "quick withdrawal" is not set, then if the option 'Remove the device safely' with the icon of USB in the bar of tasks, firstly, and THEN do the Zbook dock disconnect. I think that's what the document online tried to say in words very confusing and lacking other details:
http://h20565.www2.HP.com/hpsc/doc/public/display?sp4ts.Oid=11122586 & docLocale = en_US & docid = emr_na-c05060909So far, I didn't re-docking on the fly and disconnection problems. I run all the latest Zbook 15 G3 drivers, BIOS 1.10 etc, for those who want to know. More a few bug fixes for the Zbook dock and it will be a good product.
