The only thing that you can download now is 6.2, which a lot of the removed feature, as you can not store enough data for my backup software.

  • Zire 72 s sync with Palm Desktop 6.2.2?

Until now I used Palm Desktop version 4.1, which seems to have "disappeared" from my PC. I was HotSync with my 72 s Zire. It seems that the latest version of Palm OS downloadable Desktop (excerpt from the HP site) is version 6.2.2. Does anyone know what to download this latest version on my PC, then I'll be able to download information from my 72 s Zire and continue in the future HotSync. Or, put in other words, Version 6.2.2 work with Zire 72 s? If not, can you tell me where to download the 4.1 version of?

Here are all versions of Palm Desktop. Officially, Zire 72 came with version 4.1.4e.

  • Centro HotSync with Palm V6.2.2 hangs on the AGENDA - no record of calendar on the Palm Desktop

First of all, let me say that I hate the new version of Palm Desktop 6.2.2 and ongoing problems, I do a hotsync.  Today, I had to restart my computer I "uninstalled" an unrelated program on my computer.  When I rebooted my computer and open my Palm Desktop, all calendar data was gone.  Since my Centro has recently been hotsync d, I hung up and tried to synchronize.  The device and the desktop 'locked' in the CALENDAR function.  I found another post on the Forum where people from tech support says to 'download the trial version of Pimlico DbFixit' which I did and ran.  It indicates a problem too: DB-SNLT calendar: Both Description and Note are empty - usually a registry damaged.  REC = Date of 1508 = 11/01/09.  I also went in Palm Desktop and in the section 'Applications' found 'AGENDA' and the Nations United CHECKED.  Execution of hotsync again once allowed me to update everything EXCEPT the calendar.

HOW CAN I SOLVE THIS PROBLEM AND GET THE TIMING BACK ON MY DESKTOP?

I basically he fixed me after having used the trial version Dbfixit.  Your person to help chat told me to buy the product and then allow it to correct any errors in my data base.  It would have been a waste of money that the fix was easy once I knew what was wrong.

  • change the palm desktop users

Can I move data from one user to another user in palm desktop?

Contacts and calendar data, Yes.  Use the 'Export' function to save info, and then open the other user and 'Import' data.

Get on file/export, and choose a file name and a location to save the data, then find it when you import it.

  • How can I fix the pci.sys if corruption do not have XP installation disc

I bought a laptop in 2006 that had Windows XP installed in it.  Yesterday, I installed SP3 for Windows XP update.  I noticed that he hung up during installation. Finally, he gave me a blue screen and when I tried to restart, it tells me that 'system32\DRIVERS\pci.sys was damaged.  He recommended repairing reinstalling Windows XP with the installation CD.  However, no disk was provided with my purchase.  The software was already installed in the computer.  I have a certificate of authenticity, but not the disk to reinstall.  Without this disk, what can I do to fix this?  Or is it possible to get a disc from Microsoft or a source since I have the certificate of authenticity.

  • How to copy the data from Palm Desktop on a PC running Windows 8.1

If like me you still find the Palm Desktop data (addresses, calendar, notes, etc.) handy and use it long after throwing the combined capacity and 'sync', you can see this is useful.  I bought a new PC running Windows 8.1 and had problems with data transfer due to a problem as I understand it, which does not exist in Windows XP, Vista or 7 versions.  Here is a summary of a way to easily transfer data from these earlier versions if you have a USB flash drive (or Dropbox, Google Drive, whatever) very convenient:

    (1) Download Palm Desktop 6.2 or 6.2.2 to your new PC.  Give a user name exactly as it exists in the database from your old PC.  This name will serve as Office Automation to create a folder name of six letters (an abbreviated version of your name) to hold the data that Palm Desktop will turn upward.  Wait a few seconds for this to happen, and then close the application on your new desktop.

    (2) in your old PC you want to transfer data from, find the folder named "Palm OS Desktop" which should exist in 'Documents' under path of folder and subfolders 'Users' as > your subfolder name > Documents in Windows 7 (can also be Vista) or may be under "Documents and Setting" folder in Windows XP.

    (3) in this folder "Palm OS Desktop" search this subfolder of six letters of your name and select this whole subfolder and select 'Copy' or Ctrl-C

    (4) locate the same name of subfolder in your new PC (which will have data zero), delete and then 'paste' the subfolder you "copied" in the exact same location.  If you did it right, Viola!  Your new desktop PC should display all the transferred data, once you open the application again.

Most of the same procedure works with PC Windows 8.1 (probably also Windows 8).  What I found different is that the subfolder of data created under "Palm OS Desktop} had 7 instead of 6 characters with a"0"(zero), added as the last character.  When finally, you copy and paste this subfolder in the new PC there so rename and add "0" for the Palm Desktop to locate these data.

    I hope this helps.

Data in XP is located in C:\Program Files\Palm (or PalmOne) \ < your HotSync name truncated > \Backup.

HotSync for Win8 has been available for quite a while now!  See the post at the beginning of this section called "64-bit Windows USB drivers for Palm Desktop" for instructions and driver downloads.

Palm Desktop 4.x and 6.2.2 use different database formats - 6.2.2 went to .mdb as an extension.

Best way to migrate data is to perform a HotSync on the new machine, or use the built-in in Palm Desktop Export/Import option.  Export the addresses and calendar files, and then copy those of the new machine.

The import option to retrieve data.

  • Separate installs Palm desktop for Palm M505 and its applications, Palm Treo 680 and its applications on the same computer in Windows XP?

    Hello:

I'm doing a work around. I have a Palm M505 with a fantastic keyboard that connects to it. This allows me to write documents in a very portable way. The Treo 680 has never been the equivalent external keyboard, really full compatible with it rendering. So, I want to create documents on the M505 but otherwise use especially the Treo 680.

That's the problem. When I tried to synchronize two devices for my Palm Desktop version 4.1.2 for Windows XP, it did not work. HotSync to synchronize applications that do not work on the M505. In addition, versions of Documents to Go are very different (5.x versus 8.x).

I have a separate installation of Palm Desktop for each device, so I can have a nice desktop environment for each launching them separately. But the Palm Desktop installation "Wizard" stops and does not give me the opportunity to do a separate install of funds.

Any ideas other than the purchase of an ultra compact laptop and drop this scheme kludgy? For example, if I had to copy the installed files in files from one directory to another, this work or would would he not put in place in the registry?

    Thank you!

Very well. Stubbornness is paying off! I could beam documents between my Palm M505 and Treo 680, avoiding the need of complicated synchronization of the two Palms for my laptop. I was also able to transmit documents of both palms to my laptop Dell Inspiron M300, running Windows XP Pro.

When transferring between Palm devices, the results were better. In the M505, Documents to Go version 5,004 does not translate documents in Microsoft Word format, but in something he calls Word to Go. The Treo has DTG version 8.003, which is able to read files in Word format Go and save Microsoft Word for Windows format natively.

However, even when transferring a word in the document (old format) Go directly on my Windows XP computer desktop, he gave me a document that I could open, with the text that I would be entered following a bunch of Word characters obviously did not understand. If I add the file from my office to the most recent Documents to Go version on my laptop, I would expect that it it mean in a Word file when it sync for the Treo, but who were not on trial. In both cases, beaming between devices Palm is the simplest solution and has completely solved the problem.

For readers who are interested, that I so stubbornly tried to solve this problem because I am a typist quick touch. My old Palm M505 plugs directly into a Portable Palm both wonderful, old keyboard which is full size. Because it is a wired connection, I can type fast. This old keyboard compresses in the same footprint folded as some new keyboards external foldover. Even though much more bigger by folding it together in an accordion - like fashion, with record four flat surfaces. The design of this keyboard is now in some keyboards sold by the IGo Corporation (their former name for it was Sierra Stowaway Bluetooth keyboard). But they were unable to find a way to handshake their Bluetooth with the strange configuration Bluetooth in the Treo 680. Why from the library different Bluetooth in the Treo 680 Palm other Treo is a mystery to me, but enough of this tangent. Some interested by this workaround can be curious for the same reasons.

  • The Media button freezes in Palm Desktop!

I chatted with the guys at palm, and I'm getting nowhere fast!  I have a Centro through Verizon and everything works perfectly, except that the Media on the Palm Desktop button crashes whenever I try to go into it.  It will say "loading" on the bottom, but he never goes anywhere, and the rest of the program crashes while I have to end up using the Task Manager.  I have Vista, but I don't think that should I need to download update Vista palm offsite, because I just got the phone about 2 weeks ago.  The two guys on the cat both try to help me to clear up my registry and then I had to uninstall and reinstall office, but all without success.  3 hours of cat made me think that they know what they are talking about!  Does anyone else have this problem?  And, if so, how to solve?  Any help would be greatly appreciated!

Thank you for your help, hardbeatz, but I finally realized my problem via the service line customer palm (didn't realize it's free in the first 90 days of purchase).  It turns out that the media on palm desktop program is not compatible with Vista when Vista has the Media Center suite loaded on this subject.  Not sure how that affects him, but obviously this is the case.  I don't have a laptop with Vista that doesn't have a Media Center on this subject, and I can run palm desktop on it perfectly.  So I can just sync to two computers, according to my needs and they work a challenge to palm to do, too.  Thanks again for your help!

  • the program palm desktop data recovery

As I tried to install a new Palm program that came with my Centro, my original program palm information phone that has been on my computer for 6 years was completely wiped out.  It's the 3.0.1 version of the Palm Desktop software.  Is there anyway I can retrieve this information which was on my computer?

    Memopad.dat or memopad.bak - contains your memos
    ToDoList.dat or todolist.bak - contains you tasks

  • Where the new Palm Desktop Store files?

I imported all my files from my old computer with Windows XP and Palm Desktop version 4. XX to my new computer with Windows Vista and Palm Desktop version 6. XX.

I imported the where I had recorded the on my windows 'desktop' (not the Palm Desktop - a bit "confused, but you know what I mean").  Once imported, I saved the menu 'save' in the Palm, and now I want to know the directory in which the Palm Desktop saved files.  Are they stored in a different directory than where they were imported, for example, Palm saves files imported into an auxiliary file in the folder "Documents" of Windows, or to an auxiliary file in the Windows ' programs' folder under ' Palm /...?  Hope I'm making sense.  I want that all secure, saved in the correct before you start directory to delete the files that I think I need is no longer.

Hello..  If you imported the Palm desktop and data show there so it's in the correct folders.  The import process creates this data file, calendar/Agenda on this issue, etc.  If you look at c:\my documents\palm os desktop\user name of the folder, you will find all the data folders with an .mdb file that is the data file.

  • Runtime error when you open the 6.2 Palm Desktop software

I am running a Centro (Verizon) on my Vista system.  I now cannot open the Palm Desktop software at all.  By clicking on the desktop icon, the calendar appears in the background as usual, but I also get a "runtime error" saying that "this application has requested execution to terminate in an unusual way.  Then I have to close the application.  As a result, I am unable to use the Palm desktop or hot sync Centro. Help!

If you have not tried to uninstall the software, just try to do a clean uninstall and reinstall back.

  • Windows Reloaded - Palm Desktop Sync

I recently needed to reload Windows XP on my computer.  All the contents of my Palm Desktop data were moved to a backup folder. I need now re - install the Palm Desktop software and Resync with my Centero.

I'm not sure what the procedure is after reloading of the Palm desktop application

Can I just resynch with my certero without having to move the data from the backup of files to the Palm desktop application or can just sync and have my update of centero palm files? The data on my centero matches what was in the backup folder.

Hello bigdogron and welcome to the forums of Palm.

The process that I found that works best is:

1 copy the entire folder of the Palm of the backup location in the folder c:\program files.

2 reinstall the Palm Desktop application in the path: c:\program files\palm.

3 reinstall third-party software like Chapura or DataViz Documents To Go Pocket mirror; restore the office with the new installation pipes.

4 re - synchronize your Centro.

Just keep in mind that when you install this software, you must have the Administrator role applied to your user account so that the folder c:\windows Windows and Windows registry is updated correctly.  Once the software has been installed and you have made at least a good HotSync, you can revoke the rights if necessary admin.

  • Vista and palm Desktop

I had my Tungsten E2 for several months. BONES of my old computers is XP.  Palm Desktop was working fine. No problems.  I recently got a new computer which of ' OS is Vista. When I got the new computer, I downloaded the 6.2 Palm Desktop version.  Had no problems with the process of HotCync, all the data was there and correct. My new computer is 32 - bit, not 64-bit that is causing so many problems.  I must also stress that I do not use my PDA as you would in the company.  This is my Notepad, my contacts, calendar, etc.  I buy Splash Wallet - I've used since I got my T - E2. I can't connect to the internet, WI - FI or anything like that.  As I said, this is my electronic "Notepad." I do not use Outlook, I use the Contact, calendar module, etc. which are delivered in Palm Desktop. Yesterday, I decided to HotCync to my computer to back up the info on my PDA.  When I open Palm Desktop, only modules there were: media and Splash Wallet modules. My contacts, calendar, tasks, Notepad, etc were not there. I did a repair on the desk of the downloaded installation program, but they were not there yet. On my PDA, he said they were all supported up to, but where? When opening Palm Desktop would give me an info box that says I had to lower the load on the web: WMP/Direct X and Apple Quick Time.  Why do I need now and why not before? They were included in the Palm Desktop draft.exe? My PDA works fine and all the info is there and correct.

Does anyone else have this problem?  The only thing I can think to do now is to re - install Palm Desktop.  Once the repair ran through the download of the installation, Splash Wallet components were not in the Palm Dektop as before.  I can't really understand what is happening.  I guess it has something to do with Vista, but I don't know what, why, or what to do to fix!  HELP, PLEASE!

I will answer your questions in RED.

I tried to follow your instructions.  The first problem I encountered was in remove C:\Program Files\Palm.  There are about 20 files and 1 folder that I can't get deleted - PhotoDesktop corresponds to the folder and the files start with AlarmApp_PSI and down to UserData.dll.  I've tried everything, and I am the administrator on my computer. But that does not make a difference to the computer. You must remove the entire Palm folder only. You go to programs and features in the control panel and try to uninstall Palm desktop here? If the files delete, then go to the next step, I hope that these files will not affect install it or be replaced.

I was able to get the C:\Users\[Vista username] deleted \appdata\local\virtualstore\Program Files\Palm. This C:\Users\[Vista Login Name folder] \appdata has a lot of other things in it - other than the stuff of Palm.  Stuff like Adobe, Google, Microsoft, etc.  Should I really delete this sort of thing? No, you should only remove the Palm folder.

I haven't started on the registry deletions yet.  I thought I should get some tips on things above first.  I copied all the data and "stored" on my desktop.  I don't know what to do about the above.   I don't have an installation CD. I had to download Palm Desktop on the site.  Is that going to make a difference?  No, make sure that the version you download is for your device on Vista. You already said that you have downloaded Palm Desktop 6.2, that should be ok.

Advice, please.  Thanks for the help so far.

  • How to turn on the Palm when the PC is turned on

When I turn on my PC, I would immediately see on the screen of the Palm calendar. How can I do?

Hello..  Willingness to understand trying to make this as simple as possible.  First find your shortcut on the desktop, palm desktop and right-click on it and select copy.  So if you have a my icon on your desktop, double-click on that, otherwise go initially and all programs and click on my computer.  You will see a local disk C: (your main hard drive containing all of your programs, etc.).  Click on it and you see a lot of files it contains, first find documents and settings and open it, now can find allusers and open etc following the path that I stated previously until you find the startup folder.  Now right-click on the startup folder and select Paste.  Now, you just put a copy of your palm desktop shortcut in your startup folder so whenever you start your computer when you start it will open palm desktop.  So now close everything and restart your computer and you should see open at the end of the priming Palm Desktop.  Hope that works for you...  Good luck.
