1Z0-146 and SQL worksheet

I picked up a practical test of uCertify (the test of practice only legitimate 1z0-146 so far), and he has questions on the use of SQL worksheet.
Must I dismiss these, since they appear nowhere on the requirements for the test (or maybe they fit under "Introduction to PL/SQL"? ""), or should I start using it because of the test?
I never use sheet SQL calculation, but always on a SQL * the command-line with my files in a trainer Plus project.

I've glanced through the cover of uCertify page previously and noted some serious inaccuracies... in fact my current visit was to show a little less. These things could be in my imagination. For 1z0 - 047 they go on iSQLPLUS orders...

I'm sure that 1z0-146 is PL/SQL tool independent, so these questions are probably not relevant.

UCertify generally seem to be fast on the market, generally of lower quality and posibly coverage is not comprehensive but perhaps useful for a guarantee an a were in the areas, it is useful to go.

It seems however allowed. (See http://www.certguard.com/).

I think that if you get uCertify as an aid to cross check that you have not missed student/understand all areas, then it has some use, but be aware that they can have full coverage and they could cover some areas that you don't really need to cover. Little useful overall, but do not count too much on it.

(I never bought uCertify tests myself).

What I have said here are my personal opinions.

More I noticed the following kinde e-book:

http://www.cxguide.NET/ - The Expert Guide concise PL/SQL... which may have some relevance. It is available on the kindle on Amazon (UK / US) ... I am not available for all countries.
... I guess it's safe certification and use the original material
.... He saw there of PDF documents at the website of the author above. IMHO style is folk and talkative possilby which may not be suitable for some people (although it comes to the introduction). ' (Funnell (August 6, 2011))'

It claims to cover all topics of certification 1z0-146.

.... What follows is a little off line and in my humble OPINION and poster not really useful for the original, (these its useful for me to return to answer the other questions).

1Z0 - 146... not relating to the PDF preview he suggested another book to learn the PL/SQL... which seems critical on amazon like new with a 'style talkative'... which seems to have worked for some people and not for others. (Starting from PL/SQL: from novice to professional (voice of the Expert in Oracle) ISBN-13: 978 - 1590598825)

(To give a bit of background here, only the last piece is relevant; I am an OCA PL/SQL, but I have never round up there OCP PL/SQL. I just spent my LPIC-2 201... but estimate that I have to put in a litte more than efforts I want to commit to spend my LPIC-2-202, that I would right now... and I would be favorable to leave it for a few months and also to focus first. In any case a review of here where I am today indicates a PL/SQL OCP pourrait have more synergy with my goals in the short term and less than the gap a few other certifications I could go (and I didn't like this a month or even a week or even two days ago). And Matthew references above are of course useful. ..... To get point I am undecided on a cost/risk/benefit is that the above work by Funnell adds value to me).

Published by: bigdelboy on January 22, 2013 01:27 - I bought and skim The Guide concise Expert PL/SQL. And I like it and think it's good value / price for me. The key point is that it is safe certification. It does not directly reference 1z0 - 146 topics, but it does not seem to cover most of the land. In the body of the book after the first chapter, the style was much less folk that I feared. He seemed to give some good advice and tips and and took note of certain behaviors that may not be as you would expect... the kind of thing that could take one in a review. I could see some people love it. (No doubt will have another set of people who find useless). This is not a complete or necessarily accurate review, but it's just to say that I see a number of candidates 1z0-146 (and even practitioners of PL/SQL) find it useful.

  • Books for 1Z0-047 and 1Z0-144

    Hi all

I intend to study for certification "Oracle PL/SQL Developer Certified Associate. I was intending to prepare for 1Z0 - 047 and 1Z0-144, as both of these reviews are validated based on Oracle Database 11 g.

I was wondering if one of the guys here can help me with the couple of questions I have.

    1. that we recommend among the two exams below?

    1Z0-047 (Oracle database SQL Expert)
    or
    1Z0-051 (Oracle Database 11g: SQL Fundamentals I)

    2. what books should I refer to 1Z0-047 and 1Z0-144? I read a lot of threads on this topic. But, I haven't found a good answer yet, that's why I'm writing this question again.

For 1Z0-047, I've seen people recommend the following:
OCA Oracle database SQL Expert corrected: exam 1Z0-047 (Osborne Oracle Press series) by Steve O'Hearn
OCA Oracle Database 11g SQL Fundamentals I corrected: exam 1Z0-051 (Osborne ORACLE press series) by John Watson and Danielle Ramklass

1Z0-144 for, I've seen people recommend the following:
Oracle PL/SQL programming: Versions of covers by Oracle Database 11 g Release 2 (Animal Guide) with Steven Feuerstein, Bill Pribyl
OCP developer PL/SQL program units corrected by Steve O'Hearn

I ask you guys to help me because I don't have an idea on these books. It would be really great if someone who has passed the examinations or read these books shed some light on these.

    Thanks in advance.

I expect the review Expert SQL to be stronger, more need SQL knowledge, but if it was my choice, I seek the Oracle Press book you mentioned everything first and go to the Expert SQL exam. The nice thing about that is that you get the cert SQL Expert on this one review.

Preparation for the next review would be more difficult, because there is no easy choice for a book. Feuerstein's book is good to have, but is big enough and not particularly focused on the content of any review. I called when he was studying in the review of PL/SQL, 1z0-146, but only that I found the relevant content to the object that Oracle posted about it. I also used the PL/SQL book you mentioned by Steve O'Hearn (I could borrow through interlibrary loan), which has also been helpful, but the same idea applies, that is, you might find some useful stuff in here...

The best thing to do in such cases is to use the object posted by Oracle for the review and go to the Oracle documentation. Really, you find that it is better than the springs for a book that is perhaps not so relevant in such cases.

  • How to get line numbers to display on the SQL worksheet?

    Dear Forum,

I learn the SQL Developer.  I use it in my work and school.  At school, when I enter a query in the SQL worksheet, line numbers show in a column to the left of the editing area.  In my work, no line number.  I'm working on a fairly long query at my work, and the line numbers would be useful.

I looked at tools / preferences / settings for the Code Editor, but do not find a setting for line numbers.  I looked at the other tabs in preferences and found nothing that looked useful.

I have looked at all of the choices on the display list, but can't find anything on line numbers.

Am I missing something obvious?  Line numbers is also available?  If so, how?

I looked at various hits "line number" in this forum, but I've not found anything exactly the point.

  • Could I take 1Z0-051 and 1Z0-047 together?

Hi, I currently intend to take an Oracle PL/SQL Developer Certified Associate. Initially, I intend to take the path of 1Z0 - 047 + 1Z0-144, that leads to this certification, because the exam 1Z0-047 points also to an another cert (cert Oracle SQL Expert). So if I take this path, I'd end up with two certifications (cert Expert Oracle SQL and PL/SQL Developer Certified Associate)

However, people keep telling me that 1Z0-047 is very hard, saying that 1Z0 - 051 is a lot easier if I want to guarantee a PL/SQL Developer Certified Associate.

So, is it possible that I take all three exams (1Z0-047, 1Z0-051 and 1Z0-144)? I think that takes 1Z0 - 051 as a kind of 'practice' because it is an online exam and the scope of the review seems easy for me. I also have some budgets for me so I don't mind spend a little more money to the Oracle exams.

I wonder if both of them (051, 047) are mutually exclusive in the policy review or something.

So, is it possible that I take all three exams (1Z0-047, 1Z0-051 and 1Z0-144)?

Yes, you can take both 1Z0-051 and 1Z0-047. In fact, I highly recommend taking 1Z0-051 before 1Z0-047. You heard correctly, 047 is a much more difficult test and requires a much higher level of experience or SQL knowledge. If you look at the subjects of study for the two trials, you will see that 1Z0 - 047 includes essentially all the 1Z0-051 exam topics and has an another 30 more topics. Study for 1Z0 - 051 is, in itself, the scrutiny of experts preparation. Discuss the two reviews in an article here:

  • How to perform the procedure in the SQL worksheet?

Hi, anyone knows, how I can execute procedure here?

I try to EXEC sec_roles, EXEC security_admin.sec_roles, EXECUTE - there's a SQL statement error. When I use the CALL - there is no such procedure (I have execute privileges).

Although in SQLPlus EXEC works, but there are problems with the standard SQL commands (each of them '2' returns any content is).

    Any ideas?

    Concerning
    Krzysztof

EXEC procedure (parameters) is a plu sql (and some others) shortcut for

    BEGIN
       procedure(parameters);
    END;

So try that and then pressing / on anything in the sql worksheet that makes a statement in execution.

Note that if your procedure has defined parameters as OUT or IN OUT, you need to provide a variable to accept the returned values.

  • Formatting characters in the SQL worksheet in the version 2.1.1.64

    Hello

    Using the version 2.1.1.64

When I type SQL in the SQL worksheet calculation is to show formatting characters - for example all the spaces display as a light gray and a newline character appears at the end of each line.

Formatting characters displayed not initially when I started to use this version. I don't know how this setting is enabled, but there doesn't seem to be a preferences setting to turn it off. Any ideas?

    Tools-> preferences-> Code Editor-> display-> Show characters

should take care of your problem.

  • SQL worksheet tabs automatically gel in 2.1

    Hello:

I just do a fresh install of Oracle SQL Developer version 2.1 (63,73). Operating system is Linux.

I open a new sql worksheet and write two queries, say «select sysdate double», then on a second line 'sysdate + 1 double'.

I select the first query and run with F9
I select the second query and run with F9

I re - select the first query and the sql worksheet automatically gets frozen. Each new run open a new tab of query result.

    It's very annoying.

I checked in tools-> Preferences-> database-> spreadsheet and "Freeze automatically result tabs" is not checked.

This behavior has not exposed in previous versions (EA1, ai2 and RC).

    Anyone with the same problem?
What is a regression or a feature that I can disable?

  • SQL Dev 1.5.3: No "feedback" in the SQL worksheet? for example "1,000 rows deleted.

In SQL Developer 1.5.3 seems no "feedback" in the SQL worksheet when you insert, update, and delete records. So I like the timer, it is more important for users to get comments for the UPDATE and DELETE statements; for example, it is essential to know if 0, 1 or 1,000 files have been updated by a particular SQL statement - also for DELETE queries (for example when users forget the WHERE clause, feedback is an important mechanism to realize the error).

Is it possible to turn on your comments? ("set feedback we" seems not be honored). What is this fixed point 1.5.4? Should be presented as a feature request?

    Thank you.

Blame poor analytical skills or whatever, but they managed to have 2 reports areas separated from each other.
You've found one of the toolbar in the spreadsheet with the timings of course, but there is also one in the status bar of heads...

  • SQL worksheet does not scroll properly

I am running SQL Developer v.1.5.1 on a Thinkpad T60 with Windows XP SP2 and Sun Java 6 Update 7. My problem is that when I have a large script in the SQL worksheet and want to scroll upwards or downwards, it doesn't scroll. Only the top and bottom of lines on the screen changes. If you click anywhere in the worksheet code jumps and appears garbled. The only way to scroll without interference of the display is to click on the elevator.

I tried to update my drivers and uninstalling and re - install the JAVA virtual machine and SQL Developer without result. The problem is consistent. Everyone knows this?

It is rare to see this kind of problems with Java 6, and you have updated graphics driver you, so the only thin left is to add the following lines to \bin\sqldeveloper.conf

    AddVMOption - Dsun.java2d.ddoffscreen = false
    AddVMOption - Dsun.java2d.noddraw = true

I think that the other makes the first redundant (IE if you use not directdraw, then it's okay if you do on or off the screen.
