7.2 Skype crashes at startup
I know this topic has already been here. And believe me, I've tried with serveal things and none of them worked. I don't really know what else I can try to do.
The story is, that Skype has worked very well for me (next to rare accidents, nothing to worry about). then all of a sudden that it crashed, every time I picked up a call (or called someone). The writing was no problem and since it's essential I usw Skype for, I had no real problem with that. But after a while, I wanted that it works correctly. So I tried uninstalling and reinstalling my Skype and since then it crashes at startup. I use the normal SkypeSetup.exe I downloaded from the main site. I also tried older versions, nothing works. I tried to delete the settings in Skype and to my surprise, Skype starts after that. Unfortunately, it crashes as soon as I connect.
Please help me, I really have no idea what could be wrong with my PC (or Skype).
Skype-Version: 7.2
OS: Windows 7 Home Premium
additional notes:
I read that IE needs to work, and that's fine.
I also ran the dxdiag program and attach the file to this message.
DxDiag crashed into Direct3D:
DxDiag previously : Crashed to Direct3D (step 3). Re-run DxDiag with the command line parameter 'dontskip' or choose not to ignore the gathering information when prompted may result in DxDiag obtaining this information
Skype does not work with default Direct3D.
Try reinstalling the NVIDIA graphics drivers:

It's a Gigabyte card mother and BIOS Award Modular v6.00PG.
This is exactly the case with your computer.
However, in your case the DxDiag also crashed on DirectShow.
DxDiag previously: crashed in information system (stage 4) and DirectShow (step 1). Re-run DxDiag with the command line parameter 'dontskip' or choose to not to ignore when you are prompted to collect information could result in DxDiag getting this information
I don't know, but this could be caused by, the refresh rate of your monitor is set to 144 Hz, while native mode is 60 Hz. try changing the native 60 Hz refresh rate.

When I start Skype, I can log in and everything, but it crashes immediately when the main window appears. I run dxdiag and it hangs on DirectShow (step 1).
I tried to update my drivers, but they are up to date. Here is my dxdiag file. Can anyone help? Thank you very much.
DxDiag hangs on vorbis.acm, which is the DirectShow of Ogg Vorbis codec package.
http://www.Vorbis.com/setup_windows/
Look for any application on your computer that may have installed this Codec package. You can try to search for the presence of the file vorbis.acm .
In previous similar cases, the question of the Ogg Vorbis could have been resolved by just renaming the file vorbis.com to something different.

At the update to 7.0.0.102, Skype crashes at startup
Hello! First post, long time lurker and always avid user. I've never had problems with Skype, not so much as even the UI (been infatuated with every single update this one up).
I have day Skype accordingly after he had announced that an update is available, in this case 7.0.102. I have then duly day and waited so that it starts after installation. So she did, but as soon as he had loaded the list of contacts (but not Skype House or any what this), he is not responding and crashed immediately, but not without the Windows crash report trying to gather information on the crash. I had some time to look around, but couldn't find any solution so now I'm stuck with old Skype 6.0 - ish.
After a page of support here, I have collected three newspapers (debug, eas-cliebt and abch-client) that were generated by using the tool provided, and although I can't do it at all, I hope for more help with deciphering / them here!
Thanks in advance.
The accident is due to FaceRig Cam Virtual application. Uninstall this application.
Older versions of Skype may work with this virtual camera application, while the latest version 7.0 is not.

Skype was working fine yesterday, but as I logged on my PC today, I find that Skype breaks down just at startup. I have not changed anything on my PC. He doesn't even get to the login screen.
I use Windows 10 Tech Preview Build 9926.
You can try to run the System File Checker tool.

Started in legacy mode, lasted about a minute (almost 10 x longer than previously (6 seconds)) and then crashed as it would previously.
A solution that I seem to have found is to run Skype in compatibility mode (Windows XP SP2)
I will update to see if this solution works permenantly.

Skype crashes on startup, no error message.
Hello
I encounter an error with Skype, when I open Skype it closes instantly. No error of the box, no warning, nothing. just an instant closure.
When I consult my icons hidden in my taskbar there is a Skype icon with the 'sign in' symbol, however when I put my mouse on the icon disappears.
I have updated all drivers and IE is always updated and active.
You have several virtual capture video devices installed and they probably cause Skype to crash. The most important is the Caméra IP application.
vidéo Capture Sources :
ManyCam Virtual Webcam 0 x 00200000, 1, 2, ksproxy.ax, 6.01.7601.17514
Webcam C170, 0 x 00200000, 1, 1, ksproxy.ax, 6.01.7601.17514
loop 0 x 00200000, 0, 2, CustomVideoSrc.dll,
[JPEG/MJPEG], IP camera 0 x 00200000, 0, 1, IPCamera.ax, 5.08.0000.0000

XSplitBroadcaster 0 x 00200000, 0, 1, VHMediaCOM.dll, 2.00.0000.0233
Uninstall these virtual capture devices. If you will not be able to uninstall these devices using Panel-> programs & features, then you can try this VCamFix tool:

Skype crashing on startup displays a message 'Skype has stopped working ".
I saw several messages that have these same problems, but they seem to be older. I have version 7.12, the most recent and Windows 7. It was working fine, and then all of a sudden it no longer works. My husband updated his iTunes a few days ago and I think that might have been when the error started to appear. I'm not positive. But I tried many different things to solve this problem and nothing seems to work.

Skype crashing randomly on mac 10.10.3 and Skype 7.6
I can open it, but after 1-5 minutes Skype crashes
I don't have something most downloaded and any help would be apperciated
While the suggestion of D.Schink will work, it will remove all your call history and the cat. There is a much less destructive approach:
Download Skype for Mac 7.7. You may need to run twice, but it will fix the crash at startup you see.
