Acrobat 8 Standard are activated?

I had a licensed copy of Adobe Acrobat 8 Standard installed on a Windows 7 PC.  He had been activated and worked for years.  The hard drive crashed and I so had none to disable the SW.  Now I have a new hard drive, have installed the software from the CD.  I'm not able to activate the SW.  I called the Support Adobe 800 number.  I was told that they could not find my serial number in their database.  They suggested that I go to adobe.com/getsupport and do an online chat.  I did, but they were not able to help and referred me to this forum where they told administrators that might help would be here.

I have read other related messages that Acrobat 8 users have had similar problems and that a server for Acrobat 8 was no longer in service then Acrobat 8 installs can be is no longer enabled.  Is this true?  When I go to the register of installation I get an error of registration "we were unable to connect to Adobe to register your product."  Of course, I am connected to internet as I'm on this forum.  I activated 8 Adobe on other PCs in the past without "registration".  Now, with this facility, when I go to help > > Activation I see that both "enable...". ' and 'Disable' are grayed out and unselectable.

I went back to the help > > activate and then Deactivate is selectable.  I clicked on disable and it seems to work, but when I went back to the help > > Activation both are grayed.  A window appeared that allowed me to try to turn it on.  I did, but still cannot print a PDF file.

Crazy,

You have your serial number? If this isn't the case, have you tried to get it through licensecrawler?

You will need your serial number to activate

.

If you have a problem to find it, maybe this website can help you better than me. http://blog.stead.ID.au/2013/01/installing-Adobe-Acrobat-Pro-8-on.html

    Hi all

This error is usually caused by a bad manifest embedded in the application. If you open the application in Visual Studio, and then extract the manifest, you will see two references to the dll of common controls - an independent processor (*) version and a version that requires an x 86. On a 64-bit machine processor-agnostic references will be appearantly determine the 64-bit version. The error where the journal is legitimate, since imports are already defined what version was treated first. To test simply try to remove the independent reference to the processor in the manifest to and re-save the application in Visual Studio. When you run the application again, the errors are gone.

  • I have Adobe Acrobat 9 Standard on Mac?

I have Adobe Acrobat 9 Standard and was originally on my Windows computer. I just got a Mac and now shifting on my MacBook Pro, but can't find a place to download Adobe Standard. Help!

You need to buy or to subscribe to a new Acrobat for your Mac.  Your problems are

1 acrobat licenses (permanent permits) are for Mac or Windows, but not both

2 adobe will convert licenses when they are available, for the current version (9 is many versions behind)

3 adobe will convert any old products, but insist on an upgrade, if any

4 acrobat 9 is too old to upgrade and finally

5 acrobat Standard is a Windows product only, not available for Mac. There are only Acrobat Pro.
