When you send an e-mail using Outlook Express, I immediately get this message; "Some errors occurred while processing the requested tasks. Please see the list of errors below for more details". Unfortunately, there are no errors listed below and the green bar is frozen on the screen. The message remains in my Outbox and repeated again and again sending. There is absolutely no record and file sent in my sent box. TIA - Ernie
You have apparent dbx file corruption. A common problem.Spend most of your messages out of the Inbox and then create new folders to send and sent items box after having moved the messages you want to save to a local folder that you create.Tools | Options | Maintenance | Store folder will reveal the location of your Outlook Express files. Note the location and navigate on it in Explorer Windows or, copy and paste in start | Run.In Windows XP, Win2K & Win2K3 the OE user files (DBX and WAB) are by default marked as hidden. To view these files in Windows Explorer, you must enable Show hidden files and folders under start | Control Panel | Folder Options icon | Opinion, or in Windows Explorer. Tools | Folder options | View. With OE closed, find the DBX files for the items in the Outbox and sent and delete them. New ones will be created automatically when you open OE.After you're done, followed by compacting your folders manually while working * off * and do it often.Click Outlook Express at the top of the the folder tree so no folders are open. Then: File | Work offline (or double-click on work online in the status bar). File | Folder | Compact all folders. Don't touch anything until the compacting is completed.General precautions for Outlook Express:Do not archive mail in the receipt or sent items box. Create your own user-defined folders and move messages you want to put in them. Empty the deleted items folder daily. Although the dbx files have a theoretical capacity of 2 GB, I recommend all a 300 MB max for less risk of corruption.Information on the maximum size of the .dbx files that are used by Outlook Express:

Microsoft says find & rename "folders.dbx". Search "folders.dbx" on C, D & F drives hard but nothing turned up. What now?
Hi Jill,
Thanks for posting. To resolve this problem, proceed as follows.
1. click on start, point to find and then click files or folders.
2. tap sent Items.dbx in the named box.
3. now you will need hard drive click main (usually drive C) in the search box in and then click Find now.
4. right click on the Sent Items.dbx file and then click Rename.
5. then click OK after typing sent Items.old.
6. Finally, restart Outlook Express. This action automatically creates a new Sent Items.dbx file.I hope this helps! Shawn - Support Engineer - MCP, MCDST

As mentioned by Bruce Hagen, it is very important that you provide an error message to make it easier to solve problems. However, you can check if this article helps.

Outlook Express problems
I can't send or receive e-mails via Outlook Express.
I can access through my ISP webmail.
In short and in laymans terms (I'm not a tech wiz) the automatic link between my ISP and Outlook Express does not work.
I also lost all my emails in the Inbox.
I run a Windows XP Home Edition.
Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.
Search for interference antivirus (see www.oehelp.com/OETips.aspx#3). Then go to file | Identities and establish a new identity. Add your email account and see if it works very well. If so, you can go to file | Import | Messages to bring them from the old identity.
Then, if you lost messages, check the trash and the message of the old identity store bak files that are backups of dbx files that you can retrieve (see point 2 on the page above). If there is no bak file, then my DBXpress program (www.oehelp.com/DBXpress/) has an excerpt from disc feature that will analyze the entire hard drive for messages and if they are still there, it will recover them.

Problems using Outlook Express offline at home
I get an error message when I try to send e-mails, would it be possible to send and receive e-mails via Outlook Express from another connection. I hope someone can help, thank you.
Jack
Always display the complete text and correct all errors when you ask about a problem.
ISPS don't like people using their networks to forward mail from other networks. The symptoms you describe are usually the result of not properly is authenticating with the outgoing server or the use of a non encrypted SMTP connection (that is, port 25 instead of 587 or 465 or whatever your email port provider requires for encryption).

I am having major problems with my emails. I can send emails OK but I can't receive them. I use Outlook Express. When I first turn on outlook express, emails start coming, but then outlook express crashes. I disable outlook express and start again. My emails are stuck in the Orange webmail box until the last email is downloaded. This means that I sometimes get the same time to send four or five. I called technical support Orange several times, but they say it's a problem of microsoft. I use Windows XP.
original title: I can't receive emails from outlook express.Hi Mike,.
Make sure that you have not activated your antivirus software analysis of electronic mail. See www.oehelp.com/OETips.aspx#3 which is often a problem with receiving and sending a message.
Then, try to go to file | Identities and setup a new identity. This will give you a new message store and a new registry hive (where all the settings and account info is). Add your email account and see if it works very well. If it sticks sometimes, make sure that you are not setting to check messages too often (like every 3 minutes or somesuch). You can also try to increase the timeout for the server where this is a problem (Tools |) Accounts | Mail | Properties | Advanced). See if who deals with issues "" OE gel. If Yes, then you can use the file | Import | Messages to bring them from the old identity.
I do not know that moving to Outlook might solve the problem, because they both use the same mechanism to retrieve messages. If you still have problems, come on and generate a log file and when OE freezes, which could give some indication of what is the underlying problem. Make sure that you disable the log file later, because this file grows enormously and can cause problems if it becomes too large.

I can receive e-mail on Outlook Express 6, but cannot send see error message
I can receive e-mail on outlook express, but cannot send see error message.
The message cannot be sent because one of the recipients was rejected by the server. The rejected e-mail address was ' * address email is removed from the privacy *'. Subject 'TEST', account: 'mail.q.com', server: 'smtp.q.com', Protocol: SMTP, server response: 554 authentication has failed, have to login', Port: 587, secure (SSL): no, Server error: 554, error number: 0x800CCC79
Go to tools | Accounts | Mail | Properties | Servers and check the box indicating your server requires authentication.

I use outlook express 6 and I can receive an email of great but when I try to send it after making the necessary changes, i.e. the signature I get the message "too big for the server" responses I've seen so far tell me absolutely nothing
Well, the error message says it all. "" too big for server".
There is a limit imposed by your ISP/mail server, which you don't mention.
Not only the servers have limits on the size, this is not necessarily the same for incoming and outgoing messages.
If you say you use the e-mail program and the name of your e-mail server, maybe we can shed light on the more specific issue, but the problem is definitely with them and not Outlook Express.
P.S. I'm not sure what you mean by 'signature'

Running out of ideas and options. Can anyone help?

IE has nothing to do with OE in this regard. If the problem is intermittent, I suspect a problem with your modem, router or ISP. Reset the modem and the router, if you use one, and if that doesn't help, get help from Onetel on line and have them check the signal of your modem.
