Captivate 5.5 indicator of loading of Internet Explorer appears

We have created several videos captivate with 5.5 (after upgrading from a previous version 3) and we are happy that we don't have to include skin files more! : )

The question however is that when you open SWF files using IE (arrives 8 and 9, maybe others too), the first screen hangs with a blank screen until the full video has downloaded, then it starts to play. On all other web browsers that we have tested (Firefox, Opera, Chrome), the SWF file opens with the default loading screen/progress bar Captivate (Adobe Captivate [Green loading bar] loading... #%).

The files are opened in a new window using javascript with a url that points directly to the SWF file, such as:

JavaScript:Window.Open ('path_to_the_swf.swf', 'MainWindow.title', 'height = 720, width = 1024');

Any ideas?

Welcome to our community

I see that you open the new window using JavaScript and the new tip window to the raw SWF file. Have you tried a rather pointing to the HTML page that Captivate creates? I remember a few versions back (to version 2, 3 or 4) that the preloader would not work unless you open the presentation using the associated HTML page.

See you soon... Rick

  • 8.6.1 Control Panel does not load in Internet Explorer 9 (Windows7)

    Hi all

    A few years ago, I installed a cRIO with a WebServer LabVIew 8.6.1 running on it. It worked perfectly on XP with Internet Explorer.

    The machine has not been used for some time and during this time we put all our PC to Windows 7.

    I installed the LV RTE 8.6.1 and the patch 8.6.1f5 to http://www.ni.com/download/labview-run-time-engine-8.6.1/1244/en/

    The addon is displayed in Internet Explorer (although I wonder it shows "8.6.0.something"). The IP address is listed as a trusted site, and all ActiveX components are enabled.

    Always the Panel only shows it to load on 0.00%.

    Can someone help me with this problem?

  • .HTML does not load in Internet Explorer

    I have DLd among those free Flash templates. http://www.flash-templates-today.com.   It opens fine in my Flash CS4 and plays the swf perfectly. However, when I publish the .html, it opens in Internet Explorer but remains on the first frame of the preload.    ".. 0% of loading.    A noise occurs to tell me that I must allow Active X, which I do, but the HTML never play forward or end the preload. Here is a screenshot of the ACE on frame 1. Any help would be appreciated. Gene TY

    http://screencast.com/t/ZmE3MzBmM

    TY Kglad so. It was my first time to download on the server and it seems to work pretty well. TX again.

    You are welcome.

    Also, do you have an opinion on my next problem. This site, like the East, takes about 25 seconds to load. I have 8 .jpgs in the Gallery, and they average 50 KB a piece.  I also used about 6 pictures in my library that were HUGE, but I turned (transform tool) them to the size I needed. This hurts me to use this method instead of re import the photo image of reduced size to use in various pages (not the photo gallery).

    Yes.

    Or is - this NOT important since Flash will reduce them as it exports the swf file?

    This is important.  You should re-import images resized to save swf kb.

    Also, I see the action "compact and save" in the file menu. I should do? This is what helps to reduce the file size and faster loading?

    Compact and save resizes your fla file (if you have deleted library items, for example), not your swf.

    My .swf is 4000KB. Is - too big? Here is a link to the site if you choose to watch. www.eddievasquezelectric.com

    It is large, but not necessarily too large.  Certainly a preloader, however.

    Also, I see that I can publish an index.html off Flash directly and then use this index page to send to the server. However, index WHICH was justified to the right, page had a margin around it and a black background. It looked very ugly, but it WORKED. I decided to leave my Dreamweaver CS4 and I have started a page and imported swf file. I used my VERY limited knowledge of DW to adjust the background, margin, and centering. I managed, but operates in the dark. I then used Filezilla to charge and what you see is the result. Has used the methodology appropriate here? Any opinions would be greatly appreciated. Gene TY

    I don't use, so I'm not a good person to opine on this dw.  I started using dw there are many versions and had trouble with a page just like I wanted.  so, I've learned html and have always coded my html files in a text editor.

    If your flash works well with all browsers in your dw html page, leave it alone.  But what I see in the flash forums, looks like a lot of people are struggling with a browser or another when you use a dw generatred html file to integrate flash.

  • Flash animation does not correctly load in Internet Explorer only

    I have a simple flash animation which through text and pictures. I have a (AS3) preloader on frame 1, which sends the playhead to the frame 2, once the film is loaded 100%. For some reason, in Internet Explorer, the preloader bar will load completely, but fail to move the playhead to the frame 2, so it will just stay here with prestressing bar to 100%. However, this does not happen every time. For example, at the present time, the flash animation will play when I initially on the site, but when I click on another page, the same flash header (same swf on each page) just goes to show the preloader bar but will not play the rest of the film. Didn't help not reload the page. Close the browser and reopen it don't help. Clearing the cache of the browser did not help either. Thus, the flash animation will play correctly on the first page of the site I'm going to (be it the home page or another page) but then when I go to any other page that has flash animation, he won't play, he's there with the preloader bar showing. And then when to return to the original page, I entered the site, the flash movie play there anymore, either. I have not seen this problem in another browser than Internet Explorer (6 and 7). I checked in Firefox on Mac and PC and Safari on Mac. I use flash player 10.0.22.87 on my Mac and PC. The flash animation was made in Flash CS3, flash player 9, actionscript code 3.

    So to see the problem, here in Internet Explorer: http://demo.matthewpavkov.com/adairsolar . Wait for the movie to load and start playing. This works. Then go to one of the other pages and you will see that the same swf will not play. Go to the homepage, the swf file does not play.

    Here is the preloader code:

    import flash.display.*;
    this.stop();

    this.loaderInfo.addEventListener(ProgressEvent.PROGRESS, PL_LOADING);

    function PL_LOADING(event:ProgressEvent):void {
        var pcent:Number=event.bytesLoaded/event.bytesTotal*100;
        lbar.scaleX=pcent/100;
        lpc.text=int(pcent)+"%";
        if (pcent>=100) {
            this.gotoAndStop(2);
        }
    }

    , If I remove the preloader ActionScript flash animation plays correctly. You can see it here: http://demo.matthewpavkov.com/adairsolar/no-preload

    The .fla is available for those who want to take a closer look.

    mjjp,

    Can just that in IE, the ProgressEvent never triggers - because your content is already cached.  See what happens if you add the following lines again (end of the sample code):

    this.stop();

    this.loaderInfo.addEventListener(  ProgressEvent.PROGRESS, PL_LOADING);function PL_LOADING(event:ProgressEvent):void {  var pcent:Number=event.bytesLoaded/event.bytesTotal*100;  lbar.scaleX=pcent/100;  lpc.text=int(pcent)+"%";  if (pcent>=100) {    this.gotoAndStop(2);  }}if (this.loaderInfo.bytesLoaded >= this.loaderInfo.bytesTotal) {  this.gotoAndStop(2);}

    See what's happening?  In this way, even the Manager ProgressEvent never triggers, you always compare the bytesLoaded, bytesTotal property property.

  • Slide show does not load in Internet Explorer

    Honestly, I don't ask for help, unless I worked through something for hours, and often days.

    I had initially created a slideshow of Sitegrinder. It's your basic .swf. I moved it around (or recreated - it was sometimes) in DW CS4. It works fine in FF, however, it does not in Internet Explorer. I saw them was a javascript called "ie_noclick.js", thought maybe that would have something to do with what I saw that he was in the original SiteGrinder file. Yet, I have tried of applying it and can't seem to make it work.

    Could someone take a look?

    Hi - I did not notice anything from a quick glance, but you can try to delete the swf on the page and re - insert, as there may be something missing from the first time, it has been imported. In addition, when you place a .swf file, Dreamweaver usually auto-crée a folder "scripts" with a few elements check to make sure that the user has the correct version of flash installed - you may need to download that on the server as well (it may be something that requires no FF, but IE don't...?)

    not sure, but it's a couple of things easy, you can see everything first...

  • Michael weekly ad does not load in Firefox, but it loads in Internet Explorer

    My wife and I have different computers, and she is interested in a lot of ads for creative and other stores. As such, she was telling me how the Michael Weekly Ad (http://weeklyad.michaels.com) does not load on his computer. Just for once, I thought I would try on mine, it not expecting to load, but then he did. I've checked everything I can think of; I've completely updated its modules (which proved be useless anyway because after disabling all mine, the announcement still loaded), I checked to make sure that our version of Firefox to correspondence, and I tried using (Google) search engines to locate similar problems without success. Is there an available explanation (and ideally fix all that is wrong)?

    A lot of content on this page is loaded via JavaScript, so it can block scripts on this page if he sin't show prolerly.

    If you use extensions (Tools > Modules > Extensions) as NoScript , Adblock Plus or Block Flash that can block content, and then make sure that these extensions are not blocking content.

    Start Firefox in Safe Mode to check if one of the extensions (Firefox/tools > Modules > Extensions) or if hardware acceleration is the cause of the problem (switch to the DEFAULT theme: Firefox/tools > Modules > appearance).

    • Do not click on the reset button on the start safe mode window or make changes.

  • WHY my internet explore Windows keep crash

    I constantly get this problem of windows internet expolrer knows a failure and closure. I paid for this service, help me or I'll go somewhere else.

    I have already provided this information:

    http://support.Microsoft.com/kb/936213/en-AU?p=1

    Method 3: Run Internet Explorer in "no Add-ons" mode

    Add-on Internet Explorer, such as ActiveX controls and browser toolbars, are used by some Web sites to provide a better browsing experience. An error may occur if an add-on is damaged or if an add-on conflicts with Internet Explorer. To determine if the error is caused by an add-on, run Internet Explorer in "no Add-ons" mode To do this, follow these steps:

    1. Click Start and then type Internet Explorer in the box to start the search.
    2. Click Internet Explorer (No Add-ons). Internet Explorer opens without Add-ons, toolbars, or plug-ins.
    3. Test Internet Explorer to verify that it works correctly. If problems still occur, try Method 4.

    If no error occurs, the problem is caused by one of the Add-ons that typically load with Internet Explorer. In this case, use one of the following options.

    Option 1: Reset Internet Explorer

    Reset Internet Explorer to its default configuration. This step will disable also any add-ons, plug-ins or toolbars that are installed. Although this solution is fast, it also means that, if you want to use one of these modules in the future, they must be reinstalled. To reset Internet Explorer settings, use method 4.

    Option 2: Use the add-on management tool to determine which add-on is causing the problem

    Use the tool of management of Add-ons in Internet Explorer to individually disable each add-on to determine which add-on is causing errors. To do this, follow these steps:

    Internet Explore 7

    1. Open Internet Explorer 7.
    2. Click Tools, point to manage add-ons and then click Enable or disable add-ons.
    3. In the box display, select Add-ons that have been used by Internet Explorer to display all the modules that are installed on the computer.
    4. For each item in this list, select the add-on, and then click on disable under settings.
    5. When you have disabled all the items in this list, click OK.
    6. Quit and then restart Internet Explorer 7.
    7. If the problems do not occur, repeat steps 1 to 3.
    8. Click Activate for a simple add-on.
    9. Repeat steps 6 through 8 until you determine which add-on causes errors occur.

    Internet explore 8

    1. Open Internet Explorer 8.
    2. Click Tools, and then click Manage Add-ons.
    3. In the drop-down view menu, select all add-ons to display all the modules that are installed on the computer.
    4. For each item in this list, select the add-on, and then click disable in the information window.
    5. When you have disabled all the items in this list, click OK.
    6. Quit and then restart Internet Explorer.
    7. If the problems do not recur, repeat steps 1 to 3.
    8. Click Activate for a simple add-on.
    9. Repeat steps 6 through 8 until you determine which add-on causes errors occur.

  • Acrobat PDF reader for Internet Explorer may be unloading/neoconservative custom plugin

    Hello

    My question is basically to understand what is happening in this situation, so that I can find out where is the problem and how to solve it.

    We used Acrobat 6.0 SDK to develop our custom plugin. This plugin is basically a wrapper for a few basic tools (note, stamp, text) etc... provided by Acrobat 6.0 SDK. We have also developed a PDFViewer.dll to display the PDF document in Internet Explorer. So when the user load the document on our Web site this PDFViewer loaded with custom plugin and allows the user to these tools.

    We install this plugin under < Acrobat X > /Plug_ins/ < company name > / MyPlugin.API.

    In our website, we give the list of the documents and when the user clicks on a document, it will load the PDFViewer and custom plugin. We are loading Acrobat.exe in advance so that we can load quickly.  Now, the problem occurs when the user open any other PDF in different tab or an instance of Internet explorer. ? How?

    Account for a user of internet Explorer connected to our web site, and then they can see we're going to say 10 documents. 1.PDF, 2.pdf, 3.pdf, etc...

    Now when the user select document 1.pdf we are loading that PDF in IE within our PDFViewer plugin with custom. (Here I saw that behind the scene Acrobat.exe is responsible in the transformed by using the Task Manager) / if right now if the user opens another instance of Internet Explore or another tab and open a PDF document, it opens PDF in the standard Adobe Reader PDF Viewer for Internet Explorer resides in (C:\Program Files\Common Files\Adobe\Acrobat\ActiveX).

    If at this moment, the user goes back to our site and tried to work on 1.pdf our custom plugin works fine, BUT if the user opens another document (say 2.pdf) the card no longer works basically looks like it is not loaded.

    This issue only happens if the user opens a document in another instance tab or internet Explorer and opens PDF which led to open Acrobat Activex for internet explore. If the user opens a PDF document alongside Internet explore it does not create any problem because at that time that ActiveX is not loaded.

    So my guess is that something happens when the ActiveX for PDF is loaded in Internet Explorer.

    I want to know more what is happening and why it's happening. Because of this behavior, the users of our web site cannot use any other web site that opens PDF documents because then they disconnect and reconnect our web site.

    Please we need immediate assistance.

    I'm open to provide more details with screen capture.

    Thank you

    Twinkle

    So you have Acrobat and Reader is installed on the same computer?

    What version of Adobe Acrobat is used?  Which version of Adobe Reader is involved?

    You don't mention what/how your PDFViewer.dll called Acrobat?  Can you comment more about it?

  • Animation does not not in Internet Explorer

    Hello

    Hope someone can help me here, I created an intro flash for a site I designed. This is my first experience with Flash and it was very painless, but I have a problem with this load in Internet Explorer.

    The animation can be seen here www.danieldean.biz and if you load it in Firefox it works almost instantly, but IE just sits at a loading screen and never runs.

    I managed to find the solution to the problems of the ActiveX, but even if you no longer have to click to activate it, the animation still doesn't load. Can anyone help? I'm at a loss to know what to try.

    Watch http://activecontent.blogspot.com

    Use the first solution it instead (because you don't really seem to know
    what you are doing wrt controls activex... as you have just copied and pasted
    code for Director instead of flash and unrealized). And make sure you
    START with a file html (such as that produced by SWiSHmax).
