change the margins of text caption

I want to add some padding around my text captions. When I change the FCM file, reduce the image of legend, but the text box remains the same, have the opposite effect of what I want.

So, here's what I do:

Copy HaloYellow3.bmp and HaloYello3.fcm and rename HaloYellow3 - padded

Open HaloYellow3 - padded. The FCM and the change in the margins of 10 to 20

Select the text of the legend on stage and change the type of legend to HaloYellow3 - padded

Why it does not work?

Hello

Legends have a minimum size. This size is determined by the size of the bitmap used as the background of the legend. Among the types of legend provided are quite large.

If you play with the FCM files, note that you must do this with a throwaway project. Adjust the settings of the FCM, use the legend in an empty project. Get what you want? Scrap, adjust and start over. Rinse and repeat until the margins look acceptable, THEN use the type of legend in a live project.

Once a type of legend has been used, it is then cached inside of the. CP or. File CPTX and no change is reflected.

See you soon... Rick

  • Change the margins of the text book

    I'm rather "out of practice" with the ID now and the next problem will prove just how...

    Work on a book where I sank throughout the text. Now I have to change the margins on all pages, which I've tried to modify in master pages.

    The text, however, does not change the way it fits into the new margins. How do I properly?

    Owen,

    Luca

    Turn on release of Layout (layout > setting layout...) Before changing the margins and frames that are broken the margin guides should adjust to the new guides.

  • Change the margins... How update text blocks to match?

    Hello

    I have a 80-something-odd-page document, I needed to change the margins on. No problem. Now, however, I want to update the 80-something-odd text frames to match the new margins. No, I was not choosing "Master-text block" when I created the document, because I am new to the program and I am usually not smart.

    Is there a way to do this?

    Alternatively, if I now create a new document (with master selected text block), I can "place" the old document in there?

    Thank you very much! Someone out there, you'll earn my cyber-praise with a response.

    There is no need of a block of text type.

    If you all of your blocks of text created by hand, but made sure to exactly match the lil purply indicators 'margins', all you have to do is enable layout adjustment, in the menu available. Then change your margins - you will see that your text frames will follow. (Toot suite too, as say the French!)

  • Margins on text captions

    Hello world

    I want to increase the white space around the text in the legend boxes and supposed that I had found the solution in the online help of Adobe Captivate (see excerpt below).

    The problem is that even after following these instructions to the letter, the margins move not, I watched existing legends, inserted new or reissued the entire project.

    I am using Captivate 3.0.0.

    TIA

    Titus

    Excerpt from the form online help:

    Alignment of the text on custom text captions
    Sometimes the text on custom text captions can appear out of alignment. To resolve this problem, you must set the left, right, top and bottom margins.

    Each of the styles of legend five text requires different margin settings because text is reproduced in slightly different places on each of the legend text.

    The margin settings are stored in a text file with the extension .fcm. You can use Notepad or WordPad to create or edit FCM files.

    To change the alignment of text on a custom text caption:
    Using Windows Explorer, navigate to the folder C:\Program Files\Adobe\Adobe Captivate 3\Gallery\Captions. All the text caption BMP and corresponding FCM of the files are located in this folder.
    Right click on the exact FCM file, you need to change, and then select open with.
    Select Notepad or WordPad.
    Change these values if necessary:
    Left margin is the number of pixels from the left side of the bitmap to the text.
    Right margin is the number of pixels on the right side of the bitmap to the text.
    Top margin is the number of pixels from the top of the bitmap to the text.
    Bottom margin is the number of pixels from the bottom of the bitmap to the text.
    (Optional) If necessary, you can edit the MarginX and MarginY settings. This can be important if you add captions automatically.
    MarginX is the number of pixels horizontally from the nearest corner to the end of the legend of legend.
    Margin is the number of pixels vertically from the nearest corner to the end of the legend of legend.
    Note: The nearest corner is identified in the file open in Notepad or WordPad under "Corner". For example, = to the right top corner.

    On the file menu, select Save.
    A dialog box may appear, asking you if you want to replace the original file. Click Yes.

    Close the program (Notepad or WordPad).

    Hi Rick,

    Thanks for the quick response! I tested it, and your method works... even if it is, it's really little user-friendly. I will file this as an enhancement request. This should be in the properties of the dialog box, and this should work in real time.

    Thanks again!

  • Change the size of text to varchar column (2000) on the CLOB type

    Hello

    Is - this suggestable to change the size of text value VARCHAR column form (2000) use of CLOB property cc.bigtext?

    What are the precautions and other things to consider?

    Thank you
    Sikora

    The document suggests the only real question that comes to East with multibyte characters, which can you leave with one string more than 4 k bytes.

    You should have no problem with the data you have already there.

    The issue would occur if further on the road someone created a field of very large text which was under 4 k characters but larger than 4 k bytes.

    To pass 4000 would be that you have described.

    EDIT - in fact it would be SHUTDOWN, backup, edit the field in the sites and change column on db, starting upwards.

    Now he wants to paste and copy directly from the web browser Publisher Word and wants to change all of the place itself.

    Does someone have an answer or another solution?

    Philippe

    First of all, to answer your question about moving content. No, that is not supported.

    Then, never advised him to stick to Word what for the web. Word adds a lot of very strange code that can break your page completely. Tell him if he has a Word to add to the site to paste into Notepad or any other text editor, copy and paste to Muse.

    Please let me know how change the size of text in the fields to fill?

    Hey Swan, laken59599864

    It is not possible to change anything in the PDF with Adobe Reader.

    You may need to open the PDF with Adobe Acrobat and choose "tools > forms > edit ' and double-click on a text field to view its properties. Click on the appearance tab, and then change the font size as you wish.

    Hope this is useful.

    Kind regards

    Thank you, Gary!

    I appreciate your comments! Start with the basics: Getting Started with ExportPDF

    And here's a more complete step by step (that you already know, but I'll give the full game!):

    1. Sign in to your account on https://cloud.acrobat.com/exportpdf.
    2. Click on PDF files select export.
    3. Click on choose the files on my computer.
    4. Select one or more files and click on choose (you can select multiple files by pressing the Shift or Ctrl key when you click on the file).
    5. To convert to the: menu popup, select the output format you want (in this case, Microsoft Word).
    6. Let the language of the local menu Document configured to English (unless the PDF is in a foreign language).
    7. Click Export to Word. (The name of this button will vary depending on what format you selected in step 5)
    8. Once the file is converted, it will appear at the bottom of the window, listed under exported files.
    9. Hover your mouse over the thumbnail image of the file, and then click the icon that appears on the left side of the thumbnail to download the file in your downloads folder. (You can also click on the files tab in the upper part of the window to see a complete list of all converted files).
    10. Once you have downloaded the file, you can open it up in Word for editing.

    I hope this helps! If this isn't the case, you know where to find me!

    Best,

    Possible to change the content of text inside the group frame... ?

    Hello

    Try the following lines.

    main();

    function main() {

        if  (app.documents.length != 0  &&  app.selection.length == 2 ) {
            if( app.selection[0].constructor.name == "Group" && app.selection[1].constructor.name == "Group" ) {
                var sel1 = app.selection[0];
                var graphics1 = sel1.allGraphics[0].itemLink;
                var text1 = sel1.textFrames[0].contents;

                var sel2 = app.selection[1];
                var graphics2 = sel2.allGraphics[0].itemLink;
                var text2 = sel2.textFrames[0].contents;

                sel1.textFrames[0].contents = text2;
                sel2.textFrames[0].contents = text1;

                var fP1 = File( graphics1.filePath );
                var fP2 = File( graphics2.filePath );

                graphics1.relink( fP2 );
                graphics2.relink( fP1 );
            } // if
            else {
                alert ( "Select 2 groups!" );
            } // else
        } // if
        else {
            alert ( "Wrong selection!" );
        } // else
    } // main

    Although it might work for you, it is probably not advisable, because if you apply other content on the chassis, you modify the content, but not the formatting. Even with the restoration of the links of the images.

    So a better solution may be, separate frames, move them and group them back.
