Cisco to indexing Media Player

When I open the media player of Cisco in my music library, I received a message that the program was indexing and try again later.  When I was finally able to open my library, a number of songs by different artists and albums was a 'Different' kind and have been moved from their normal positiions.  Characteristics and aid for the Media Player is pretty lame, and I need to know how I can get Cisco Media Player for re - indexing my library back to its original state.  Refresh areas and places is not the case.

Well well, after a lot of gnashing of teeth and pull hair, I finally gave in and called Linksys support.  Most of the suggestions of the tech were things that we talked about earlier, such as the cache of hunting.  I described to him that I uninstalled the program and reinstalled at least three times without success.  "After you have uninstalled I even went into the registry and elminated any reference or the key that contains the words"Cisco Media"and CiscoMedia.  After each installation, Cisco Media Player didn't show my music library, but he could play radio stations.   The program would also give me the same message he had earlier on the indexing of files.

It is at this point that the tech said something that stunned me.  He asked about the version of LELA and compilation.  When I told her I got the latest version, he says that I was running the 32-bit version.  My operating system is Vista Ultimate 64.  «When I loaded the program from the CD, it was an older version of LELA so the program automatically downloaded the latest version of ' 32-bit»  The tech gave me the URL for the 64-bit version - http://update.linksys.com/lela/install/lela-64.exe.  I uninstalled everything, including LELA and went in and removed from the registry as before.  In addition, I made sure that the Cisco Media Player folder has been deleted from the folder Program files (x 86).  After that I installed the 64-bit LELA and Cisco Media Center, everything came right.  Music files were there and properly indexed and LELA wasn't weird about connections as before.

What really aggravates me is the fact that the installation never disc processing not me on the operating system I was using.  It loaded automatically the 32-bit version and then downloaded the updated version.  Not only that but I have never see any reference in its support page on a 64-bit version.  It was a significant aggravation with 's' capital.  Well at least I don't feel I lost $300 on a POS.  Things are working fine now, and I guess that's what's important.

    My question is actually very specific: when I keyin track using Media Player Info, is this info inserted in the file itself, or only in the index of Media Player? If I have to rebuild the indexes in the metadata file, the indexed fields are kept in?

    Only in the index of Media Player.  If you remove this file WMP (without actually deleting the computer/folder) and then read the file again, you would see that your changes have disappeared.

    To actually change the file, you will need a program known as ID3 Tag Editor.

  • Cisco Media Player will not play my media after Windows 7 upgrade

    Last week I upgraded my operating system to Windows Vista Ultimate 64 to Windows 7 Professional.  I own a player DMP-100 which is directly plugged in my G from Linksys WRT54GS wireless router.  My computer is also connected to the router, so this problem is not a wireless issue, but it wouldn't surprise me if it turns out be associated with a.  When Vista was in charge, the DMP-100 router and Cisco Media Player is fine, although I had a devil of a time in the set up.  When I decided to upgrade to Windows 7 Professional, I realized because the BONES were inconsistent that the upgrade would eliminate all applications and I have to reload everything.

    When I rebooted Lela and the Cisco Media Player, I have none of the problems that I had with Vista in the configuration.  However for some reason, the program does not play my media files.  There is a default error message coming saying the Cisco Media Server can be turned off.  This is not the case.  More when I select a streaming radio station, the player, the server and software work fine.  I feel, but the server isn't really pointing to my library, the library opens upward in the software.  I unplugged and reset the player several times.  I also deleted and reloaded the server & software media a number of times.  I always get the same results.

    I don't like on radio stations.  I just want to be able to play my music and playlists. Anyone facing this problem before, and if so, is there a reason and a solution for this?

    (Mod Note: edited post for the respect of the directive.) (Thank you!)

    Eureka!  It's the firewall after all.  I thought I had everything checked when I added the AV Media Server and made sure the Cisco Media Player has been activated too.  Once I disabled the firewall and restarted, the press began to play as it should.  If something was definitely not right in the firewall.  It turns out that I was a fool and never saw the 'advanced settings' until I read about it in WIndows help (something I should have done at the beginning).  It was like a slap in the face.  Even if the programs were activated, there is no rule created for TCP and 8015 remote port.  It was clear as soon as I knew where to look.  I created a new outbound rule to allow TCP access port 8015, and the program worked as if it was never a problem.

    I want to thank you two people who have helped me through this and patience you while I flinched around this application and operating system.  It was a total exercise in frustration, but also that of the discovery.  I really appreciate your help.  I thank you and my audio system thanks you too!

  • How can I exclude specific folders of the indexing of Windows Media Player stream?

    Windows Media Player 12 has removed the possibility of excluding some files being indexed.  This feature was available in Windows Media Player 11.  I need to be able to exclude some records indexed because I have collections of photos that are too big for the WMP player to manage.

    Excluding these folders in the library WMP is not an option because MediaCenter uses the settings of the library to determine where to find pictures (even if it does not use the library to view photos or videos - just the WMP settings) so if they are not included in the library WMP, I can't see them in MediaCenter, but if they are in the WMP library he freezes everything for 30 minutes whenever I turn on an Extender that forces a re-analysis of the WMP library.

    I tried to edit wmpfolders.wmdb to exclude certain files, but the changes that I last only for a few hours to a day or two.

    any ideas?

    Thank you
    Dan

    Hi Khaled, thank you very much for your answer.  My question was related to the media library in Windows Media Player, but your response was to Windows 7 libraries.  Unfortunately, your answer does not apply to my question.

    What I need to be able to do, is to exclude a folder from indexing of Windows Media Player streams although it is included in the list of folders to the index.  It's because the Media Center uses the settings of the library Windows Media Player to determine where to find pictures.  However, it does not use the Windows Media Library to view the photos.  It is, therefore, no need to have Windows Media Player, indexing of thousands of photos when Media Center does not even use the library to display.

    The problem is that when I let Windows Media Player scan my pics, it causes all to slow down for 30 minutes or more each time I light a MediaCenter extender because it is re-scanner all my photos.  However, if I let Windows Media Player not scan my photos, so they are not visible in the MediaCenter.  There is a catch 22.

  • Prevent the audio being indexed by the BlackBerry Media Player

    Hi all

    I have an application that stores and plays MP3s it downloads from a remote server. I use OS 4.5 and higher.

    The problem I have is these MP3s are indexed and played by the phones built in Media Player. Are there ways to prevent this from happening without stopping playback of my application?

    Thanks in advance

    Ray

    Hi, CMY, thanks for the info and your way works, but I eventually solve this another way.

    If you hide the MP3s files are are more indexed by media player.

    for example

    try {}

    Directory = (FileConnection) Connector.Open (rental, Connector.READ_WRITE);

    directory.setHidden (true);

    Thank you

  • How to exclude folders while they are not the index by Windows Media Player 12, but are available in Media Center?

    Just upgraded to Windows 7 from Vista and am having a problem with Windows Media Player 12 and its indexing.  In WMP11, you could put all your pictures in your "My pictures" folder (so they appear in the Media Center) but then exclude it from indexing in WMP11, then it would not bog you try to index all things.

    This option has been removed in WMP12.  If you want images to appear in the Media Center, they must be included in your WMP12 library. (Even if Media Center does not use the WMP library to ALL display pictures - she designs per file)

    Because I have thousands of photos and videos, this is a major problem at any time an Extender is turned on, because for some reason when you start an Extender it forces a new scan of all your media.  It is in turn completely failed the system leaving the main centre of the media both all completely unnecessary extensions while CPU hits 100%.

  • EA4500 Windows 7 can not index the files so not seen by Windows Media Player

    I install a drive on the USB port of the EA4500 and 4 files.  A music course.  I want to access this folder through my laptop wireless with Windows Media Player, but I don't get a handle on disk + 3000 songs.  A PC cable can access files, but not a wireless laptop.  I don't know where is the problem.  If I use the reader via //host/Music the star ratings are not available, but I get all the music, if I map a drive can I get star rating but only a handful of songs.  I tried to change the permission, but I can't change the permissions of the file on the Linksys.

    You should be able to change the permissions on the page of the router. Using the classic Firmware or the Linksys Smart Wifi? If you use the firmware Linksys Wifi Smart, it is under the USB storage device > access to records. If you use the classic Firmware, it's under storage > Administration. The laptop should be able to see all the files just like the office.

    I had to go into Admin/service and change the Startup Type to disabled for:

    • Windows Media Center Receiver Service
    • The window media services planning service
    • Windows Media Player Network Sharing Service

    I tried setting services to manual, but Windows Media Player has yet caught all the CPU and memory, he could then I disabled all the.

    I do not know how to disable homegroup and Windows Media Player services work together so I wonder if everything is always operate has designed with the homegroup and sharing my music.

    Hello

    I think this explains the problem.  The 2 entries here should be deleted, because the first will try to index all of your user profile and the second will attempt to index all of the Windows Partition.

    C:\Users\Rick

    C:\

    To remove them, click to the left of the entrance, highlight it, and then click Remove.  When these two entries have been removed, reboot the laptop and you should find that the problem has been resolved.

    I have an older HP laptop that has a slot for the DVD.  All of a sudden it stopped working. Is it true that MS no longer includes a multimedia player in their products? Why is stopped, if true?

    No, this is not true.  What Microsoft has abandoned in Win10 was their Media Center, not the media player.
