Configuration of the BIOS XW8600 for SSD and HDD
Until recently, my xw8600 has been configured with the emulation of SATA under storage on the separate IDE controller Options. 250 GB hard drives connected to the SATA 1 and SATA ports 0 and readers of DVD RW Drive connected to 2 SATA and SATA 3 ports.
I wanted to install a GTX240 Neutron Corsair SSD, but discovered when I changed the SATA RAID + DCIS emulation (to activate all 5 ports of SATA controller and optimize the performance of the SSD), the system could not find the boot drive. I checked the startup command settings and found the slot drive HARD listed title module of memory into the attached USB printer HP Officejet 7500 a first and could not be changed.
I decided to go back to SATA IDE emulation separate, remove the optical drive on SATA 2 port and attach the SSD it. This facility is expected to start successfully; but after installing windows 7 x 64 on the SSD (Windows XP, x 64, still on the HARD drive), I found Windows 7 has been very very slow.
Can anyone offer any suggestions or comments on how I can improve this situation?
Thanks for any help, you can suggest.
What is an installation of Windows 7 Pro 64 - bit of a retail installation DVD purchase, or something HP? If I remember well Vista 64 was the latest HP OS with sold. In this case you won't have to deal with a set of HP restore disks. I would never do an "upgrade" of a prior installation of OS in W7. I only do not clean install W7 on a freshly long-type reformatted hard drive or an SSD. I buy my "system builder" OEM license W7Pro 64 - bit DVD/COA from newegg.com (you can find that many sources and approximately 140.00 each).
Plan to do a clean install on this SSD from scratch and when you format before that settle does long formatting version, while it is booted from the W7 DVD. That will take some time. Or, if you have a functioning before the OS install on a hard drive, you can restore the xw8600 you can connect the SSD in the second or third SATA port and reformat (long version) management of records like this.
The boot drive or SSD, Spinner, must always be connected to the primary SATA port, which in these workstations, is usually blue plastic, while the rest are a dark black.
Make sure that your BIOS is later... There was a version for this and the xw6600 with a few months ago. It is an important.
Put the SSD in your favorite mount, hang it in the main SATA port, prepare the W7 DVD in the DVD drive (which should be attached to the second port SATA or IDE cable if it's a DVD ATA drive). Throwing xw8600, go straight into the BIOS and go to which you can change the SATA emulation. Change that on "RAID + AHCI. Save on the way out of the BIOS, and the workstation will now reboot usually requiring formal approval of the change F1.
Demarrer start on the DVD, select clean install and things will be fine. I usually set my boot order to start hard drive/SSD first and second optical drive. Then, when I load an OS I just use the F9 key during the early start to switch to the DVD player for this single event.
It's the key information: If you have correctly set to "RAID + AHCI" SATA emulation for the W7 installation process, then the appropriate drivers will not be loaded from the DVD on the startup disk, and you won't receive anywhere near your expected speed. I helped a friend who had done exactly what you did, and when we corrected things literally double SSD performance scores. I recommend that the reformatting/clean reinstall from zero here, because you want to really perfect the basics and the way he was treated initially can leave you with a few important questions.
After you have things working with the SSD and the DVD player you can add in your other material sequentially. I would like to make a reboot between each addition, just be very careful. Some old HP DVD drives have a problem with W764 loading during the emulation of the SATA BIOS is set correctly and there is a solution for this, but you don't want from now this info.
All the advice I have written in this forum about the xw6400 installs apply to the xw6600 and xw8600, including information on the upgrades of the processor.
Let us know how things are, so that others can enjoy...

Configuration of the initial network for ESXi
Hi all
New VMware user here, set up my first environment. I have an ESXi host who has four physical network cards (NiC0, NiC1, NiC2, NiC3).
I installed ESXi, the VCVA device and multiple virtual machines with great success. They are related to the local storage currently, but I want to connect to our iSCSI SAN.
Physically NiC0 and NiC1 are connected to our regular network switch. NiC2 and NiC3 are connected to our iSCSI network, which is a separate network.
So what I did is NiC0 and NiC1 set as active for the management on the ESXi host network. I left NiC2 and NiC3 uncontrolled.
When I use the vSphere client to create the iSCSI connection, he can't see NiC2 or NiC3. I need to activate all four cards can use them in vSphere?
If I enable NiC2, NiC3 and, they say that they are disconnected, because they are connected to our iSCSI network and have no regular network connection.
Am I way off track here?
Welcome to the community,
I would recommend you take a look at the Documentation Centre of vSphere 5.1 to discover how to set up iSCSI software.
You basically need to do is to remove the 2 NICs (vmnic2 and vmnic3) of the current vSwitch, create a new vSwitch with 2 groups of VMKernel ports and two vmnic and configure groups of ports to use a vmnic as active and the other as unused (i.e. port group--> vmnic2 active = 1, vmnic3 = unused and port group 2--> vmnic2 unused = vmnic3 = active). Once this is done, you can create the iSCSI map in "Storage adapters" and add two VMKernel ports.
It is also important to review the documentation of storage vendors. Storage vendors usually provide the guide of best practices for how to configure iSCSI on ESXi to work best with their equipment.

Configuration of the ALS Scan for the 7206vxr
Please can someone help with the listed configurations.
Hello
The syntax of the command that you have shown above is the old style of IP SLA CLI which is used on versions of previous IOS 12.4 (6) T release. On the latest Cisco CLI has basically abandoned the keyword monitor and tried to make the syntax more simple and intuitive. So for older versions, yes what you have shown above is very good.
For ASR, you must format later in the CLI and thus:
!
ip sla 1
icmp-echo DEST-ADDR source-ip SOURCE-ADDR
frequency SECONDS
!
ip sla 1 life forever start-time now

Configuration of the DBUM connector for an Oracle database more
Hi, I only configure DBUM connector for Provisioning users for an oracle database. I need the provision to users of other databases on the test and production environment... I use OIM11.1.2.2 and DB version 11 GR 2.
I duplicate the work using an existing task that is used for the existing work. Create n number of jobs and to provide different it resource for each work and the calendar (see: ).
When I set up my opinion of cannt users DB roles associated with the resource, see only the roles for the 1st set up DB... What is the way to do this task? I have read the document and they talk about copying the files of connector... Is there step with more detailed steps to do this?
Thanks in advance.

Configuration of the network card for my installation
Hello
Host machine: Windows-7, wireless, wired network card network card
The computer invited: Oracle Linux 6.1
I want to install oracle on my guest computer database and access it from the host machine. I do not particularly like about sharing this database with all other machines in the network (other than the host and all guest computers created on this server).
What network card configuration would work better for me?
My host computer is a portable computer. I plan on using this laptop at home, as well as the work. At home I have access to the wired network and wireless (DHCP) while at work I have access only to wireless (DHCP) network.
I tried to adjust my VM as NAT & Host-Only network. My VM guest Gets the IP address but I cannot ping the virtual machine to the host using machine VM name. If I use the IP address of the virtual machine to ping, it works.
Thank you
Yogesh
Welcome to the community,
with the requirements you mention, I would recommend a host-only configuration. Due to lack of DNS resolution, you can configure the host with a fixed IP address in the Host-Only range and add the Oracle VM to the hosts of your Windows system file.
Use a fixed IP address between 192.168.x.2 and... 127, above this addresses are used by DHCP.

Configuration of the DVD Menu for Audio and subtitles page
Scenario: I have a Page Setup menu (for 1 timeline) has 2 audio tracks (stereo and 5.1 Surround) and 2 subtitles (English and Spanish). How can I make the buttons work like toggles (power) without going through the selection of a button move the viewer directly to the timeline?
If it goes to the timeline, you are linking to the timeline.
Here's the option 'specify the link' where you select a button in a menu itself, not a timeline.

Hi all
I had a few doubts with the configuration of the adapter Essbase for FDM ver.11.1.2.1 on X 64 Windows environment:
(1) with version 11.1.2.1, Essbase adapter upsES11GXH for FDM needs more user and Arborpath system variables. Is this correct? This is clearly mentioned in the es_g4_h_target_adapter_readme of the document of the essbase adapter available on Oracle's Web site. It asks you to delete the Arborpath if you upgrade from version 11.1.2.0 to 11.1.2.1. If you are doing a new installation the document does not claim anywhere to set the Arborpath environment variable. Version 11.1.2 necessary both the Essbasepath and the Arborpath variable must be set to < EPM_HOME > \products\Essbase\EssbaseClient-32. 11.1.2.1 version the Essbasepath must be \common\EssbaseRTC\11.1.2.0 < EPM_ORACLE_HOME >
(2) I read some - where in the forum for FDM work on a x 64 windows the essmsh.exe environment should start and appear in the Manager of tasks such as essmsh.exe * 32. I tried booting from the < EPM_ORACLE_HOME > \common\EssbaseRTC folder and it gave me an error "failed to initialize MaxL. If I start from the \products\\Essbase\EssbaseClient-32 < EPM_ORACLE_HOME > MaxL shell it seems to work correctly. I am able to start the MaxL shell and I am also able to see essmsh.exe * 32 in my task manager process. What is the logic behind this?
(3) in the case of question 2, if you open the startMaxL.cmd file in a text editor, you see a line that says "SET ARBORPATH = % ESSBASEPATH %". Then Arborpath or not not to start maxL shell and what is the relevance of this with FDM?
(3) is the \products\\Essbase\EssbaseClient-32 irrelevant in 11.1.2.1 version as the ESSBASEPATH should be set to < EPM_ORACLE_HOME > < EPM_ORACLE_HOME > (folder or path) \common\EssbaseRTC\11.1.2.0. The esbapin.dll is located in the bin folder of this path.(1) with version 11.1.2.1, Essbase adapter upsES11GXH for FDM needs more user and Arborpath system variables. Is this correct?
YES, that's correct. You don't need of the system ARBROPATH or early variable user with 11.1.2.1
This is clearly mentioned in the es_g4_h_target_adapter_readme of the document of the essbase adapter available on Oracle's Web site. It asks you to delete the Arborpath if you upgrade from version 11.1.2.0 to 11.1.2.1. If you are doing a new installation the document does not claim anywhere to set the Arborpath environment variable. Version 11.1.2 necessary both the Essbasepath and the Arborpath variable must be set to
\products\Essbase\EssbaseClient-32. 11.1.2.1 version the Essbasepath must be \common\EssbaseRTC\11.1.2.0 REASON, 11.1.2.1 you only need the ESSBASEPATH variable that will point to the directory EssbaseRTC\11.1.2.0 as stated in the Readme adapter guide.
(2) I read some - where in the forum for FDM work on a x 64 windows the essmsh.exe environment should start and appear in the Manager of tasks such as essmsh.exe * 32. I tried booting from the
\common\EssbaseRTC folder and it gave me an error "failed to initialize MaxL. If I go to the \products\\Essbase\EssbaseClient-32 MaxL shell, it seems to work correctly. I am able to start the MaxL shell and I am also able to see essmsh.exe * 32 in my task manager process. What is the logic behind this? It's something that you can use to test if the environment variables are configured correctly. IF you follow the adapter Essbase readme explicitly regarding changes in variable environment, the integration works as expected.
(3) in the case of question 2, if you open the startMaxL.cmd file in a text editor, you see a line that says "SET ARBORPATH = % ESSBASEPATH %". Then Arborpath or not not to start maxL shell and what is the relevance of this with FDM?
See the answer to #2
(3) the
\products\\Essbase\EssbaseClient-32 (folder or path) is not relevant in the 11.1.2.1 version as the ESSBASEPATH should be set to \common\EssbaseRTC\11.1.2.0. The esbapin.dll is located in the bin folder of this path. Yes, this path must be defined in the PATH variable. It is documented in the readme adapter guide.

Hello
I have a service online Internet with 5 public IP addresses.
The router and the AP are connected to a switch.
I would like to set up a WRT54G Router with a public IP address and use DHCP (with private ip address) for the computers that will connect to the AP.
That the AP is connected to the switch, it is possible that the other wired computers that are connected to the same switch can get an IP from the DHCP?
Thanks in advance
In this case, the routing is automatic.
WRT54G configuration:
WAN:
Internet connection: static IP address
IP address: 180.X. X 170
Subnet mask: 255.255.255.248
Gateway: 180.x.x.x (Ex: 180.x.x.1)
DNS: servers your ISP DNS
LAN:
The IP address of the router: 10.10.10.1
DHCP range: 10.10.10.100 of-online 10.10.10.200

Yes, as you directed in the code snippet included listener Web Oracle APEX Documentation Options, Services (ORDS) data Oracle REMAINS usable as a PDF as FOP support print server is included in the ADR 2.0 and later (last ADR 3.0).

NOTE: The links are for APEX 4.2, but they still apply for APEX 5.0, if you plan to use ADR 2.0 and later versions. These links show how to configure ADR as a print server and how to design and print reports.

Once more, I give it a try to see if we can make use of the new partitioned (split) off-heap storage and are having problems with the configuration of the cache (including configuration files).
The problems that I had, it seems that < high > units should be specified for the entire cluster (or perhaps for a node? not sure yet!) while < original-size > & < size > is specified by partition. Is this correct? That's the way it was intended (for me it would have seemed more logical to also specify < high-units > per partition since I guess overflow checking and expulsion is made by partition)? The way I read the documentation, it seems that all three should be per partition if < partitioned > true < / partitioned > is specified.
If I value < > 1 mb high-units (as i belive I should if it was per partition) I get the impression that I posted in a previous question (a message to info on some missing index data, then the crash of nodes in cluster with some of out of memory error).

Sorry, my description is very confusing. High units is by cache. What I was trying to say, is that cache mapping can train additional units high to affect the memory required by the node. Since multiple caches can map to the same pattern, especially if you use wildcards in the mapping, you must consider the total number of hidden units of high times. It is true or not caches use different services.
You are also right about high units, applying to the partitioned support cards. You could have easily expulsion are happening as you describe. We must take another look at the configuration because it is too easy to make a mistake.
As expected, the allocation of card support splitting is lazy to avoid the problem you described. The worst case situation, I was trying to explain can occur if you have caused all buffers to be allocated based on the data before all other nodes could take some of the partitions.
Kind regards
David
