Create a demo / simulation within a project of presentation

I'm just starting to use 8 Captivate. In previous versions, I was able to insert a demo / simulation while I was building a presentation by simply click on a little red button which is not in version 8. I tried to do it in the menu file, but making it in another project, not where I need it in my presentation. It is no longer possible?

Only way now is to use the big button slides, software Simulation. Sorry for the change of the user interface, should be easier, but is not always the case. It is missing from the Insert menu.

  • Access to the Simulation evaluation Mode software within a project?

I am using Captivate 5, and I see the possibility of creating a software simulation which is evaluated (classified) as a separate project. Is there a way to activate this same function within an existing project?

For example, I can record a movie in the middle of the project by selecting the registration button in the top menu. However, I don't see a way to activate the part assessment of the scenario from this location,

If there is no way to do this within a project, what is the best way to combine a simulation of separate assessment with an existing project.

Your help in solving this problem is appreciated.

    Jeff

You must remember that you can't have a scratched Captivate quiz or assessment of a single project.  So if your project already has an assessment, that add you including graduated simulation will become part of the same assessment.  You can't score separately.

  • Handling of multiple video exports within a project (first 14 elements)

I have a @ 10 short video clips that I consider a 'project' and wants to use several common parameters on too many interview (WB / noise reduction etc.) but I want to release that 10 separate video files to the client.

Is there a way to keep them all within a 'project', handle them one at a time, leaving one at a time, but use (if necessary) of the common parameters through clips? Or should I create 10 separate "projects"?

    Thanks in advance.

Put them on the timeline back to back, by separating each video with a short black video clip if you wish.  You can copy and paste effects from one clip to another or create presets. When you're ready to export (share), set the work area bar to make sure that the part you want to export.

  • When you add a software simulation of a project through the "slides" the red box button record is not resized.

Created a ppt project and want to add a software simulation as I have in the latest versions of Captivate.  But today the record red box will not resize enough great for my capture software. He suggested monitors duel was a problem, tried to disconnect and the problem remains.  All of the suggestions.

It is attached to the resolution of the current project, you can not choose

another resolution. Only for a new simulation of the project be registered you

will be able to change the resolution. With the key slides that you insert

    blades in an existing project.

  • I have a project in iMovie HD6 and want export to Final Cut Pro.  I see that it is not possible from the previous questions, but is it possible that I could maybe create a dvd of the iMovie project and then who import in Final Cut?

I have a project in iMovie HD6 and want export to Final Cut Pro.  I see that it is not possible from the previous questions, but is it possible that I could maybe create a dvd of the iMovie project and then who import in Final Cut?  I just want to make a new trailer for the project.

What you suggest is possible but it takes software and third-party quality loss.

Instead, export a QuickTIme movie. If you have a choice of codecs, choose Apple Intermediate Codec. You can save it where you want it-maybe in the movies.

Then import the movie into FCP as a clip.

    Good luck.

  • Creating a Version 2 of a project

    Hello

I followed the instructions and created a version two of my project.

The timeline is empty as the instructions.

I went to version 1, selected all the clips in the timeline, copied and pasted into version 2 of timeline.

Everything worked OK, except that the screen in version 2 report is 3:4, while the original version 1 is a 16:9.

Is it possible to have the two show version in a 16:9 screen ratio?

    Thanks for the info

  • Creating Audio only files to another project

    Captivate v5.5

I have (based in the United Kingdom) have been invited to create audio slides only for a project that is created by someone else in our organization based in Switzerland.

They send me a word with script slide by slide document.

I don't have other ways to record audio on my pc other than Captivate.

My first thought was to create an empty project in Captivate v5.5, name and export every slide audio in a folder and then send the file for the owner in Switzerland so that they can import the audio files in their project.

What's the best way, or is there a smarter way?

    Thanks in advance

Christmas, did you ever try Audacity? It of free and has more features than the included recording/editing audio in Captivate.

  • Cannot create a PAL DVD from NTSC project. Sound is not converted (accelerate), unlike the video.

I have Adobe CS5 Production Premium.

Well, here again, having found no answer elsewhere. A LOT of PAL to NTSC tutorials out there, but I'm not finding what to do about my situation.

I have a project shot on Super8 and scanned in HD 24 fps uncompressed QuickTime is what I have.

So far I can't create a PAL DVD of this project. Video converts, but audio remains the same (it is not given the increase in the speed of 4% to match the video).

I would have thought that Premiere Pro has the ability to convert audio, (accelerate) because it can convert 24 fps to 25 fps PAL.

Please, someone show me how to take my project of 24 fps and create a PAL DVD. I have to finish tonight or I'll miss the deadline of the festival. I was present all day yesterday and into the night.

My other projects Super8 photographed 18fps and I have PAL transfers, whereas they were not so diffficult. This one...

I tried to export a DVD MPEG2 with premPro at least ten different ways with no correct results.

Hmm.  This makes me suspicious.  There is really only one good way.  Use the preset "PAL progressive screen wide high quality."  Who will export on a compatible .m2v PAL with a .wav for audio that is synchronized.

  • With the help of an introductory slide to link to different slides within a project

    Hi all

I have a little problem on my hands and was hoping that someone may have the solution... and give me a help :-)
Using Adobe® Captivate® 5, we create a training package where the first slide presents all the major teachings of a particular module. This initial slide shows 4 lessons. Users are supposed to click on the title of the any of these 4 classes to start. I have been using click boxes, but finding only one of them can operate, while others are blocked. Unfortunately they all be available at the same time, users must have the options click on the desired lesson.

Any thoughts on how I can fix this?

    Thanks in advance!

Are there questions of quiz or scored the elements of your project before the second part you need to pass to?

If Yes, you have your Quiz > settings > required the game layout to make it obligatory for "answer" for each question?

Maybe it's what keeps moving from one section to the other.

Also, the problem may be that, with the jump to a point middle in a movie, Captivate must return all the slides between your point of departure, and from that point.  In the case of large projects, this can take some time.  So, how many slides are there in your project and interactive elements how much y at - it altogether in your film?  (You can check this figure by looking at project > Advanced Interaction dialog.)

  • Multiple simulations in one project?

Can you import Captivate projects into other Captivate project?  I use Captivate 8.01.  (BTW - for several years I used Captivate and I'm really impressed with the changes of the product!)

I was tasked to create a demonstration with several sections accessed from a main menu screen I create in Captivate.  In each section, the hope was to launch the demo and simulation training for the different features of the software and create questions of knowledge-check not classified for each of its characteristics.  The final product will be distributed on a single DVD as a stand-alone project.

My first thought was to record a demo and training simulation for each of its primary characteristics, and then use the branching/grouping of slides to make the project into a Captivate file.  I have worked with learning management systems and learning content before management systems and realize that it would simplify the task, but unfortunately my company nor the client have an LCMS or LMS System.

If I publish each of the simulations in the form of SWF file and create a project aggregator, is there a limit on the number of modules that can be added?  Having separate demo and training simulations will really increase the total number of projects.

Or, is it possible to use MS PowerPoint to simulate a course combining the Captivate files in the PPT?

Any help will be greatly appreciated.

You will need to open the 5.5 project and convert it to 8 (don't expect to get everything upgraded smoothly however, too much difference). You cannot import slides, but you can copy and paste slides between projects using the tabs interface.

However, there is no way to open a CP8 don't project in an earlier version. I repeat: too many things have changed, especially at 8.

  • Best way to create a variation of a FCP project

I have a two hour video that I created in Final Cut 6. It's a pretty complex video, with lots of movement today, I want to make a shorter version of the same video, without altering or modifying the original video.

I'm trying to understand the best way to do it.

It would be better to make a copy of the original video and edit this copy in a shorter version of the original, or would it be better to create a new sequence in the initial project and build the new shorter version within this sequence?

I don't want to confuse or overloading the PCF.

Duplicate the sequence... and make your stripes and cut downs from there. No need to rebuild.

  • More stuck small simulation on larger project. Can't see the legends of failure

I pasted a number of smaller blades explaining how to run a process step by step on a project wide (by using a blank slide for the latter), but I do not see the legends of failure for click boxes. However, I see the "tips" popping up. Any suggestions as to why I see a kind of legend, and not the other?

I forgot, but now I see, you're on CP7, right? Any of the forms on the slide is interactive (button)?

Could you try to copy a blank slide from another project, that has a theme that do not spoil the slide blank? I suspect it has to do with this model of slides, indeed.

I still don't understand why you do simulations in another resolution. With this workflow, I understand, but you're talking about copy/paste?

  • Create a software simulation environment

Captivate captures screens, you click interactions. How you create a simulation that mirrors closely as possible to the real software environment? Menus, text fields, check boxes are all selectable and it assesses you if you click on the right thing or enter the text to the right.

    Is this possible?

    Thank you

You need to capture the menus separately (probably using something like SnagIT) and then place them on your slides Captivate enabled by the passage of the mouse.  There are two ways to pull this off.

One way is to have the menu to capture images set up as an image rollover objects.  But they are not clickable objects.  If it doesn't work really well

The opposite is much more complex, but at least it works.  You must use the event handler from the slide widgets that detect events rollover on boxes hidden nail placed within the scope of the areas where the menus are activated.  The event handler will then the user to another slide that shows the drop in open position.  On this slide you rollover image objects placed on top of the drop-down list so that roll on the drop-down menu options triggers images to appear which resemble States of bearing of each menu item.  Then you have these images accompanying several widgets event handler that are set to listen to the mouse events click on these images of the flight path.  When you click on it, each separate menu item will then the user to still other slides that reflect what they would see in the app if they chose these options.

    Hello world!

I know how to create a global variable (in a vi through the range of functions...).

EDIT: although I agree with Gerd (he probably wondering why you need so we can recommend a better way ), I rarely use them in easy to write once - read many applications such as security levels overall program at initialization (VER) to read later, but NOT modified.  I know it would be better to make a good class, functional Global Variable (FGV) or a motor Action (AE) but globals ARE practical and safe IF used wisely.
