• R12 Custom environment variable

  ... I'm quite familiar with the autoconfig 11i customizations, but R12 looks different...
  I'm trying to follow notes 415967.1 and I need a set of variables IX_PRINTING environment. (NOT a top custom.)
  + In 11i, I defined a custom context variable and updated the $AD_TOP/admin/template/custom/APPLSYS_ux.env file to export the IX_PRINTING environment variable using the context variable value. Unlike my 11i, R12 environment installed doesn't have a $AD_TOP/admin/template/custom/APPLSYS_ux.env file. I tried to create this file with just the 1 set the variable, but subsequently autoconfig, all other variable R12 environment do not set!
  
  By using the notes referred to AutoConfig and customization AutoConfig, I must be missing something...
  + By OAM, manage custom settings section, it seems to be a way to define a custom context variable that becomes an environment exported variable. Perhaps "OA_TYPE" could drive this?

  This must be OK you must create the custom manually directory and copy the file - see (Note: 430020.1) for a similar description.

  By using the notes referred to AutoConfig and customization AutoConfig, I must be missing something...

• Modification of the data types of the custom shared variables

  My application includes a library containing a number of shared single process variables. I use type defs to create the shared variable "of the custom control." I know that shared variables do not-automatic update since the type defs, so I'm updating shared variables (data type, do a right click, properties) whenever I update the type definitions.  However, if I make a change to a type design that does not change the data type, for example to change the labels controls, these changes will be reflected in the shared variable.  The data types of variable window shared list contains entries for each previous update, which indicates he uses the previous entries.  How can I make the window of properties of shared variables 'forget' my previous defs type wandering without deleting the variable total? Withdrawal and replacement would be troublesome because the done variable references throughout my project.

  The variable is not in the Distributed System Manager, or Manager of the Variable, and cancellation of the deployment has not been resolved.  However, I found Labview from closing completely and reboot clears the memory of the previously used custom data types that sees the library.  Thus, the effective workaround I found is:

  1 make a significant change to the data type of the type (per your suggestion) FED. Record.

  2 - redefine the variable screw-notice type FED.

  3. save the project. Close and restart labview.

  4 - the old def type is now disabled.

  5. return the significant change of the def type, implement trivial change and save.

  6 redefine the variable using the type correct now def. Viola!

• ITPolicy custom Simulator

  I'm working on a business application that must be deployed through a series of tests, staging and deployment networks.  The application calls a web service, it must have a different URL for each of the stages of deployment.  Reading the forums, it seems that defining a custom ITPolicy is the best way to do this.  Is there a way to define a strategy custom TI in simulators (I use the Simulator to 9650) so that I can test this approach?

• Conversion of custom component variables

  Hey everybody,

  I wrote a component custom Java which works successfully in Eclipse and when I deploy/install and run it, it gives me no errors.  But I have a question.

  My method that I'm calling from the component accepts a list < number > integer as an argument.  So in the Workbench, I do some test data in the process of script execute:

  ArrayList conflictRules = new ArrayList();

  conflictRules.add (129);

  patExecContext.setProcessDataValue ("/ process_data/cnflctRuleList", conflictRules);

  So my question is: when I check the cnflctRuleList variable it shows:

  < int > 129 < / int >

  < / list >

  So if I had this in my component java, it translated to Java in contrast with lists? (129) or what?  Or it passes the xml code in the list.

  You don't have to worry about the conversion of XML - the view of the list is just a representation of the XPATH of it for display purposes.  Under the sound stored as an ArrayList java covers.

• customer value variable interval purge with adminapi?

  We have a cfml page that implements the configuration of new servers using the adminapi package.  I am able to find methods to define almost every configuration option, I need, except for the interval purge for client variables.  It is by default in 1 hour and 7 minutes; I want to make it longer.  Note that I don't know purge timeout, which defaults to 90 days, I'm looking for a way to set purge interval using adminapi. Any suggestions?

• Problems with the published variable network shared

  Greetings,

  I have difficulties in obtaining data on the network.  I can see that the editor SV will correctly the data, but the customer (lu) variable is an empty string.  I don't get any errors and I also checked the IP addresses in the alias files are each corresponding machine on their deployment.  One last point, it is that the two pieces of code is in form vi, none are yet exes. I have to say the PC Editor I want to share the data to the specific IP subscribers?  Please tell me what I'm missing.  I used variables shared between machines before but not through a server.

  Brings back memories of WordPerfect, which allow you to define all kinds of quick shortcuts. Here is a take on that. Two scripts: one to define keys, the other to use shortcuts.

• Custom template for related products?

  So, this is the first time I try to customize an ecommerce solution beyond the normal stuff of the BC. Customer wants a specific view for related products, so my first thought was to use a custom template, but it doesn't seem to work.

  So I almost with the help of the model of module, a decline in the amount of 1 - and hoping I can use a custom template for the display of the small product instead since I use that related products.

  I forgot something? Is it possible to use a custom template for the {tag_relatedproducts}?

  Thank you Joel however I have more control over the layout as a few styles of it. I ended up jumping in with the beta version of liquid to get what I need, what gave me some other customizations.

  TAGS cannot take a custom template variable, I chose to store it in a tag "capture." So based on some conflicts of naming of my catalog images, I was able to target specific catalogs, then browse related products and build them up as I wanted.

  Here is an example of what I chose to go with.

  Use of variable bind from a client means:
  (1) customer create a unique SQL cursor with bind variable, for example INSERT INTO FOOTABLE VALUES (: 1,: 2: 3)
  (2) customer from a loop of data read

  SQL * also does not support the approach of customer liaison above variable. It is a command line interface very PRIMITIVE and unsuitable for running scripts from loading/data entry.

  In your case - the right approach would be to have the data into a CSV file, and then load this file using SQL * Loader... where this software will use customer approach above (in fact he still does better because it uses in bulk link and link not row as described above).

• Help with tab script and auto custom calculation

  I have implemented a two-page order form in Acrobat, based on an InDesign exported to PDF and filled it with the fields for 30 items that can be ordered.  Each item can be ordered has a color, size, quantity, unit price and Total point (the last two are read only) field.  To the point Total, I used "value is the product of Quantity.x, Price.x of the unit") calculation and to calculate the subtotal, "value is the sum of the Total of the order of the day.

  My first problem is that the scope of subtotal does not reflect the exact amount I have label off a quantity field and enter additional data on the order form.  I would like for the date to be included in the subtotal as soon as it is seized.  I read a script custom hits (tab the cursor on the following fields after the form data of types of recipients in an area of the car) which could deal with this problem, but one) I can't find the script and b) which should be formatted custom for a field that must be the number in the format.

  My second problem is coming up with a custom to variable shipping rates, calculation script based on the subtotal:

  up to $25 - $6; 25.01 $ - $75 = $11,50; $75.01.00 - $125.00 = $15.00

  125,01 $ - $200.00 = $20.00; 200.01 $- $300 = $25.00; $300.01 - $400 = $30.00

  I would like to have two radio buttons, one for select Pickup (no charge) and the other to select priority mail delivery - the option button that selects priority mail shipping will show the amount of shipping in a separate, called text box shipping charges.

  I also need a calculation that adds 5% of the subtotal more ShippingFee, if people pay by credit card.  I was hoping that a calculation simple field would take care of it.  (Subtotal + ShippingFee) *. 05)

  For any help or suggestion would be appreciated.  If I need to download the form, I can do this, even if I need to know how to do this.

• Hyperlink to Variables does not work

  I have a page created may. the title of this page is a variable that displays a specific value to various clients. Now, when I generate Webhelp for a particular customer, the variables are relevant to that customer. View whole page a correct value of the Variable. I also have a hypertext link to the overview. Now, when I generate Webhelp, the hyperlink goes to the default instead of the page view of all customer-specific value. I do it the right way to hyperlink to a page that contains a variable?

  Maybe I can explain it on what I want:

  View all page: I have 4 variable games for 4 different clients - A, B, C, D.

  I have a table of contents for each of these clients.

  Overview page in the table of contents, as well as a hyperlink to a page of text.

  Now, when I generate webhelp for a customer, my production has relevant information that the customer has. So the view overview page has a graphic and relevant text to this customer.

  When I navigate through the table of contents and select the view all page, it shows relevant graphics and text for client A.

  However, when I click on one of the hyperlinks that go to the preview page, it displays the generic page with generic graph. This means, at this stage it does not recognize the variable defined for A.

  So, can I hyperlink works as he shows me the variable content set A-similar to what it show when I access the same page of the table of contents?

  I have not used it myself, but based on the Dev box article, you should be able to make and store a number of different images that can then be deployed in your cRIO targets.

• Advantage of CVTs

  I want to use CVS rather than a variable to transfer the data of some parallel to the other loops. The data can be frozen since I only need the most current value. I read this thread whitepapter: CVS

  I see that they behave like global variables, but what is the advantage or the difference between them. They have higher performance or use less memory?

  The main idea behind CVT is that it is dynamic - while normally, you must set your Globals in the front (unless it is just a Variant), you can dynamically add/update data to the FPC. This is very useful when you have a very modular/flexible application (e.g. loading in a different material, the custom etc. variables.).

  For example, you might have a data acquisition module, which is configured by the user to configure any number of tasks/channels of DAQ - data of these going in the FPC. You could then write a common user interface that uses the API to the CVT in the list current signals and select those that you want to / view log. If you modify the task of data acquisition (or add another... g e. read from an instrument), you must change your recording/display components.

  I wrote my own version of the CVT library - it's essentially the same principle, but it has some additional features (for example to store additional attributes on a signal, generating a user event on update of data etc.) performance considerations (storing variant in a DVR).
