  I have the new Studio from Dell with Windows 7 that's installed with McAfee.

  I can't open documents sent to me by e-mail or submitted by a "drop box" on the website of my teaching.  The message says that the "file format cannot be supported by installed converters."

  I see that others have raised this issue previously in the forum, but it does not seem that he has responded to directly.  Help, please!  It is huge hassle to save documents and then reopen to read, especially because these are not the documents I need to keep.

• Where a file be saved if you open a MS Word doc as an attachment and the only select Save vice save under?

  I just changed a MS Word file that I sent to myself. Dialog box asks if you want to open or save. I chose open. I'm making updates and proceed to select save ICON (disk). I wanted to send the doc after update, but MSN does not allow to download an open file. I click save ICON new and closed the file, but when I looked for the file, it was not available. Y at - it a temporary area so that the file is saved.

  If not, then a suggestion would be to give the user a prompt to remind them that the file was not registered although check-in ICON selected constantly throughout the writing of the document.

  If you have an attachment to the document that you want to edit, save the attachment to your HARD disk first and then change it. After starting change it, choose Save as and you keep moving, click on save or Ctrl + S to update the changes, once again this made, set the document.

  After an evening of wonder, I managed to get the icons back as follows:

  File > export > OMF

  Select "Audio split" to allow the 'Format' box to become active.

  Select "Broadcast quality" then change back "AIFF".

  Reselect "encapsulated".

  And there you have it.  'A' and 'V', where they should be.

  I deleted my settings file before that without effect.

  I still don't know if the OMF export will be fruitful for sound editor...

  For vmware linux install a Crossover in your environment.

  I would say that it is applicable to all the patches that update APPL_TOP, so it applies to the outermost Regions and the Maintenance Pack patches but not an 11i to R12 as a new APPL_TOP upgrade is created in this case (unless you are referring to the new APPL_TOP).
