Draft resolution for Encore CS5

I recently started to use Encore CS5 to create Blu - ray discs. I create my projects from Final Cut 7 sequences and creating Blu - ray files using the compressor.

I noticed that still asks you to choose a resolution of project when you create a new project. For my first record, everything was filmed in 1920 x 1080, so the choice was easy. However, I now create a second drive that uses hardware that is 1280 x 720 and 1920 x 1080. I once more created the Blu - ray files in the compressor.

Suppose I put the project up to 1920 x 1080 resolution - what should I do for 1280 x 720 files? Can I just insert into the project? If I do this, yet reencode the files to match the 1080 resolution? Or should I up-res in Final Cut, dropping them in a 1080 sequence and the re - export? Alternatively, if I drop them in, they will just remain unchanged and only?

Is it possible to have a disc with mixed resolutions? I am confused on how to proceed...

John-Paul

Various project deadlines can have different resolutions (including the SD).

Bluray default settings are, in my view, for menus/motion menu transcoding.

Check that your timeline assets come as "do not transcode" for bluray parameters.

  • Resolution of the assets of Encore CS5

Recently I posted a question asking if it was possible to have a calendar in Encore CS5 which had files MPEG-2 Blu - ray, who were not all the same resolution. Recently, I burned my first Blu - ray disc, where everything has been 1920 x 1080 and 23.976 fps. However, now, I'm working on a disk where the material is mixed - I have a file which is 1920 x 1080 to 23.976 fps, while the rest is 1280 x 720 to 29.97 FPS.

    Here is the original thread:

    http://forums.Adobe.com/message/4024950#4024950

One of the answers is that different timelines in still can have parameters of different resolution for SD and HD.

So, I created a new project for this mixture of 1920 x 1080 and 1280 x 720 material in yet. Project settings are NTSC, MPEG-2, 1920 x 1080, 23.976 fps, no. fields / Progressive. Now that I imported my material of 1280 x 720, still wants him for transcode. Is it a good idea to let the material still transcode or the quality is bad?

In the future, if I have plans with mixed resolutions and or frame rates, is best just to do everything the same? By example, with this project, should I reduce the 1920 x 1080 / 23.976 1280 x 720 29.97 sequence? Or, is it better to up-res material 1280 x 720 to 1920 x 1080?

Or, do the need for equal frame rates - should I take everything 29.97 and convert it to 23.976?

Or is it ok just to make even transcode?

I'll do a little experiment myself too.

  • Remote control DVD "skip" function does not work for Blu - ray (Encore CS5) projects

I graduated from SD to HD and I need help.

I just finished my first project HD in CS5, he engraved on a Blu - ray disc and immediately encountered a problem: jump jump forward and backwards remote functions do not work. (I met several other problems on the road to get here, but I solved with the help of the manual and by browsing this forum ). In this project, I am doing exactly what I did in my previous SD projects (where this function works):

    1. In Encore CS5, I added "Chapter Points at intervals... ».
    2. On the timeline in the properties panel, I kept the default selection "Operations: all allowed" (which includes 'Search for chapter' in the menu 'The authorized user Operations').
    3. In the "Project Preview" window, by clicking on the "Next chapter" or "Previous chapter", the function is executed correctly.

However, after burning the blu - ray disc and pressing the buttons "jump back" or "forward" on the remote (Panasonic DMP-BD65) Blu - ray player, the 'Operation not permitted' message. (This very remote button function works on all my SD projects).

More background information: I use also marks chapter to the PrPro project related to Adobe Dynamic Link, chapter marker tips end Actions (Jeff The Focal Easy Guide to Adobe Encore DVD 2.0, pp. 178-180) and the Bill on the use of the 'fade to black' transition to avoid the second ~ 1 the gap between chapters in the Playlist of chapter I use to play all chapters.  This observation can be independent: in the monitor Panel, 'Step Forward' button with the Alt key does not move the CTI to the next GOP brand. The work of functions (without pressing the Alt key) 'Step Forward' or 'Step backward' (move a frame CTI)...

At this point, I desperately need help from the Forum.

    Thank you

Still must properly set the interval even chapters after the transcoding.

You must say to "Return to the Original" If you do not want retranscode.

Let us know on the chapter playlist in blurary: I think you will find that they do not work. Blu - ray, you must use the method used for SD cards.

  • Chapter Playlists do not completely play when built with Encore CS5 projects DVD double layer

    Friends,

I don't know if this is a problem that is known or not.

SETUP: I created a project in Encore CS5, basically, it's a movie of 2 hours and there are 2 songs in the film. The film consists of 15 chapters. I created a chapter of playlists to listen to the songs. I have three selections of chapter that are configured in the following way.

SONG1 CHAPTER PLAYLIST-> chapter of a song is added to this selection. The actual number of chapter is 2.

SONG2 CHAPTER PLAYLIST-> chapter of the second song is included in this playlist. The actual number of chapter is 10.

CHAPTER PLAYLIST-> SONGS it contains two chapters (Chapter 2 and chapter 10).

All of the above chapter playlists are linke to their respective button in the Menu of songs.

: Project Encore CS5 for a DVD (dual layer)

Menus: I have three menus, main Menu, Menu of songs and Menu chapter.

Timeline: A chronology (MPEG2-DVD encoded thro first Pro CS5).

    Audio: Audio (PCM)

    Subtitle: A SubTitleTrack

QUESTION: In the Preview mode all the chapter playlist play well and return to the Menu of the time songs that they are played completely. But when the project is built, read the DVD, this is the question I.

1 SONG1 CHAPTER PLAYLIST (contains chapter 2 only) works very well, played in full.

2 SONG2 CHAPTER PLAYLIST (contains chapter 10 only) go back to the Menu songs after a few seconds, does not fully play.

    3. all THE CHAPTER PLAYLIST SONGS (contains chapters 2 and 10) play Chapter 2 completely and starts Chapter 10, but returns to the Menu songs after a few seconds (same SONG2 CHAPTER PLAYLIST behavior).

Please let me know where is the problem and can also let me know if you need additional information.

    Thank you and best regards,

    Vinciane

Well, that's a problem with jumps of Encore.Encore layer creates a sordid cell to the place where the layer break is applied which once encountered during playback causes the action to end execution.

To resolve this issue, do one of the following-

Manual layer jump 1) apply exactly to the point of chapter. (I think that currently the automatic layer break is trying to apply the layer break in Chapter 10). To apply the manual layer jump, in the building Board select thenbuild and manual layer jump. A dialog box to select the layer break will appear. In this dialog box, you can specify the time code of Chapter 10 to which layer break must be applied.

    (2) if above does not solve your problem, try applying manual breaking down images before Chapter 10.i.e. If chapter 10 starts 00:49:55:20, are trying to apply the layer pause at the end of Chapter 9 of 00:49:55:10.This way which you will lose only a few frames of Chapter 9, but will be able to playback of the entire DVD.

Let me know if it helps.

    Thank you

  • ProRes to H.264 Blu - Ray, then get an overview of the problems with Encore CS5

    Hi all

I've been holding Media Encoder CS 5 90 minutes or so ProRes 422 (29.97 interlaced) QuickTimes and create Blu - Ray H.264 files for use in Encore CS5.  I use the maximum of 1080i quality setting and adjusting so that the target bit rate is 25mbps and max is 30.  By 2-pass VBR.

The issue I'm having is when I import these files into Encore CS5 and then preview them on a timeline they are artifacts in all directions.  They look like my cable signal when it breaks upward, except through the whole program.  I have re-transcoded in Media Encoder and am having the same problem.  I also tried transcoding in Encore (which is really the same thing), and it still persists.  I did not a BD - R again to check it and I know that the preview in Encore CS 5 is very buggy.  But I wonder - someone ' one run in this?  Is this just a preview issue, or is there something really wrong with him transcode?

Also, if anyone has a tip for where I can open the file *.m4v out Media Encoder so that I can check them somewhere else in again would be great.  VLC Player does not, nor does QuickTime.  Thank you all!

    Best,

    JD

Compressor didn't start to make videos compatible h.264 Blu - ray up to version 3.5. Videos in h.264 Blu - ray made in the compressor before 3.5 are not compatible Blu - ray, fail strict checking of yet and must be re-encoded.

If you are using Compressor 3.5 or newer, your Blu - ray h.264 files will import still very well and will not be re-transcoded.

  • Portable solution 1366 x 768 for body CS5

    Hello world

I'm going to buy a new laptop and I would like to know if the screen 1366 x 768 is low for PPro CS5. In the requirements, there is a minimum of 1280 x 900 display. It means that the program does not start or it has not recommended to work with this solution of low screen?

I have a bonus question: the gt425m with 1 024 MB can be used for the mercury engine? (with the hack)

First the bonus question: nobody has reported the results even with a GT425M, so no one can tell it will work with the hack. The only way to be sure is to try it. Then you will know it.

However coming to your main question concerning the resolution of the screen, you're right about the minimum in 1280 x 900 requirements. This means that the program will install and run, but you cannot access some boxes in the user interface, because they are not displayed, making it absolutely worthless. You cannot access below the timeline zoom levels, you won't have access to audio tracks, etc. Another requirement is at least two SATA disks 7200 RPM, or better, which opposes almost all laptops.

You can find laptops that are decent for CS5 Sager, Eurocom or Clevo PR which meet the minimum requirements and can even carry as DB, from $4 K and goes up to more than 10 k $

If you look at the results of PPBM5 tests, you can see a very nice laptop Sager around 36 - th place and other laptop computers at the bottom of the list and about 10 to 30 times slower than a fast desktop machine.

To put it bluntly, save your money, do not invest in an underspecced and extremely slow for laptop that does not work.

  • Make blu - ray discs with the content of the standard dvd in Encore CS5

Given that blu - ray 25 gb discs have become affordable, I would like to take advantage of the increased capacity of the content of the standard DVD on them.

In a Word, I would put about 8 hours of flow 8000 720 X 480 video on a disc blu - ray 25 GB with no transcoding.  If I said that my project is a DVD I can tell it to "do not transcode" my property, but as soon as I change the option on Blu - ray, I have a wide range of Hi Def only options or automatic transcoding.  This is much more than 25 GB of the file size.  I can do this in TMP GENÇ TMPGEnc works, I can specify each track or not to transcode, and what bitrate etc. and then burn a blu - ray disc-compatible with the standard def content-but my menu options are more limited than in the still and the work process is slower.   I'd rather that in again if possible.  Is there a way to do that in Encore CS5?

    Stan Jones wrote:

The problem for me is the reason why you do not get "do not transcode" for a DVD file apparently valid, just because you make a Bluray disc.  I wonder if you change the image size in the properties of transcoding bluray.  I just show him the "do not transcode" for a non-transcoded avi file and also a previously transcoded m2v.

all my videos that I coded for this and the last project had a black frame around them. for some reason any capture has not quite completely filled the entire box. not a BIG deal, but in the video effect > motion > scale I changed them all to 103 to 105, and I think that this IS why with my workflow wanted to transcode. so I just jumped the man in the middle and in first, like mpeg to preserve all the stops of chapter and chapter names.

  • Encoding and still resolution for BR vs project settings

I'm a Canon HV20 HDV film editing.  When I configure my Pr Pro project I used the recommended

by default HDV project settings.  I hope that these are correct.  I will burn a Blu - Ray disc for the project.

I guess that like other products I've used, the best answer here is the native resolution of your source that is I hope that what I mean.

Now, when I make via media encode, it asks me the "frame size" / resolution for Blu - Ray disc output.

Also when you open a new project in Encore, he requested similar information.  I'm in NTSC land.

I am familiar with the standard HD and the resolutions and the final outcome of this project is a Blu - Ray disc played on the HDTV.

However, what is the best media settings encode resolutoin and still "image size" for a Blu - Ray with an HDV source disc?

I've seen several articles and videos from Adobe on these parameters, and they explain what they are, but not what are the recommended selections.

Once you work on a project in PP can as an observation, you change the settings/resolution of the project?

    Thank you
    BJBBJB1

PS... Didn't know which forum to post this in as it spans all 3 products!

Your source is 1440 x 1080 MPEG2. Your final destination is H.264 - BR with 1920 x 1080 (i.e. with square pixels), because the h.264 compression is more efficient than the MPEG2, so you can either get better at the same rates or the same quality with maturities with H.264. Audio is of course a 5.1 AC3 file.

I would skip the intermediate step suggesting Ann and export directly to your final destination with the MRQ. If you do this PR, guests of MPE accelerated for scale and effects/transitions, that you can use and you will have the smallest possible loss of quality.

Please keep in mind that still is still a 32-bit application, so that can make the extra difference between PR and FR for transcoding. By encoding in PR jump you a transcoding step IN.

In my case with elements PAL, I would use these export settings:

  • Is there an optimal resolution for iCloud sharing Photos

Is there an optimal resolution for iCloud Photos sharing on computers, iPad and Apple TV?

I want to scan photo album my grandparents to share with my friends and family. I scanned a few pages of test at 3200 x 2000 pixels. They have look great on my Mac and look great on an iPad also. I want to future proof them for 4 k and recent televisions.

Is the size of 3200 x 2000 pixels too small, too large or OK?

If you want to transfer photos using iCloud shared Albums, photo sharing, they will be transferred from smaller - the edge long will be at maximum 2048 pixels, unless they are panoramic.

I would scan the photos to a pixel size you want to keep for reference, so you can print them in a format you like - 4000 x 3000 pixels or more, and when you share with iCloud, sharing photos they will be slightly reduced in any way.

  • Additonal display with a higher resolution for HP 350 G1?

My new HP 350 G1 (Windows 7 64 pro) is equipped with two graphics devices.  Connect a secondary HD via HDMI screen it is only a simple mirror.

The chip Intel inbuild has a resolution of 1366 x 768.  What is the AMD Radeon HD 8670 M? Is it possible to get higher with this adapter and an external display resolution?

    Edit;

I tried the latest driver for my additional display, downloaded, connected to the monitor via HDMI and installed the driver.  After that, I had to switch between the internal and could set the high resolution for the external display. It works without interaction of the AMD graphic instrument.

  • Dns resolution for a sub.domain with some ISP DNS external in the management of the DNS (win20008 r2) service?

    Hello

    We have a domain.   www.mydomain.be.

It is a public domain managed by our office.

It is also the same for internal network active directory domain mydomain.be

Of course, we have internal DNS in our active directory.

the Registrar has created a subdomain.  www.Sub.mydomain.be

My question is: how to solve (for my network internal only) sub.mydomain.be by the DNS of the ISP.

--> How to work around the internal our DNS resolution for the sub.mydomain.be ONLY for the 'DNS ISP or registrar "?

our internal DNS (r2 win20008 in active directory) must continue to resolve all applications except the sub.mydomain.be.

  • Resolution for prints on Pro - 100

I take an online course to get certified Adobe for Photoshop. The instructor said that, for optimum print quality, it must use the maximum resolution that is available on your printer, on a Pro - 100 would be 2400 according to this guy.

I have never heard this before and felt that it is ridiculous to set the resolution for more than 360. Am wrong me or is the instructor? I realize that this may depend on the desired print size and the number of pixels you have available, but even if you had that much info in the file, you would never want to set the very high resolution?

  • Resolution for Intel(r) Graphics Media Accelerator 3600 required when installing a registry cleaner

I've installed a registry cleaner but was taken aback. vacuuming has highlighted a suggestion that it requires a resolution of 1024 x 700, and the highest resolution for Intel GMA 3600 is 1024 x 600. I want to create a resolution custom above in support of various applications that require a higher resolution. How can I do this?

    MM

Short answer is you can't.  resolution is defined by the hardware and the driver.

The Intel Graphics Media Accelerator 3600 or GMA 3600 is integrated (for example in the Atom N2600) graphics without dedicated memory.
