OK, you can use the following script to custom size for a text field:

Custom Format script for the text field

If {(event.value)

(Event.Value = util.printf("%.2f", event.value / 100) .replace (".", "+");

}

This can be expressed in plain language with: If the field is not empty, divide the value by 100, round off the result to the tenth closest and replace the comma with a sign more.

A script format is used to change what is displayed in the field the value of the underlying field leaving unaltered, so the value of the field can be used in normal numeric calculations.

  • You can edit a document template in your library (pdf) and retrieve previous form fields, so you don't have to start from scratch?

I've just uploaded a pdf template in my library and spent a lot of time to fill the form fields. However, after completing the achievement, I made a misspelling on the original pdf model uplaoded. Is there a quick way to upload the document again and copy the older form of the document field so that I don't have to start from scratch?  If someone is able to inform you that would be much appreciated.

Only if you checked create layer for the form field option when you create the document in the library. (Available only in the accounts of end superiors so that you won't)

If you have Adobe Acrobat you can add fields from the agreement to the PDF outside eSign services.

Or if you are using word documents, it is possible to add fields of the agreement using text tags.

With those you can change regardless of the document and download the new copy and that the fields are already there, no need to copy or redo them.

  • Password-protect and hide a form field

    Hello

I was looking through old discussions in the forum looking for an answer to my question.  A code of George Johnson was really helpful, but there is a function more that I have to add to it and am struggling to figure out on my own.

I created a PDF with form fields.  Different departments within the Organization will review this PDF and pass it back.  The Admin dept needs a text field called 'internal comments' that they can protect the password.  They would like to add text, then password - protect only one field so it is hidden for other departments that examine this PDF file.  Admin must copy either visible to them when they enter their password.

The script that I found works really well (see below).  I created a button to hide the script, and when you click it, it locks and unlocks the "Internal comments" text field with the password.  However, I can't figure out how to HIDE the 'internal comments' field after someone in the Admin entered their information.   I tried setting up a field to show/hide action, but I can't make it work.  And I'm not enough common sense to know how to change the Javascript code.

How can I specify that the 'internal comments' field remains HIDDEN when a user enters his password to 'disable this field' and VISIBLE when they enter a password to "activate this field? '

Any help would be greatly appreciated!

  • Edit data in a datetime form field

It was a long day - I think not that I've ever had to post here twice a day before :)

I have some data in a datetime to a MSSQL database field. The date is inserted with #Now () #.

The date is inserted and works correctly. But when I use an online form to change the date - the HTML code in my form is:

    < input TYPE = "text" size = "40" NAME = "DateAddedN" value = "#DateAddedN #" >

It will edit the date, but resets the time 00:00:00

    Kind of odd.

Even if I do not change, it seems delete the timestamp time when I submit the form.

    Thank you

New research, it seems that CFUPDATE I used does not work over time, only the dates. To UPDATE when a SQL query seems to work instead. Thank you!

  • Acrobat XI Windows 7 - impossible (copy and) paste form fields in different PDF.

In order to maintain a consistent look and function in the forms I create for various departments, I copy a few independent form (text, checkboxes) of a PDF Acrobat fields. Then I paste these fields in another PDF document that I am to fill.

I do this because Acrobat does not define a default value for some attributes when creating form fields, i.e. an option deselected scroll, one font by default other than Helvetica (in Acrobat 8, 9 and X). Plus, it's save time to copy and paste fields that are the same in another PDF file, such as name, address, telephone. etc.

We have just upgraded to Acrobat XI and Windows 7 and now I can't paste copied fields on a different PDF.

To help 'replace the pages' is not applicable, as I am sticking to a totally different form and copy the form fields with the settings I use.

Is this a bug or something new that wasn't in Acrobat 8, 9 and X is?

In addition, question about this forum - http://forums.adobe.com/message/5638333#5638333 - article which is somewhat different from my current question.

The PDF Creator cannot paste fields copied on other pages of the same PDF file. This was never resolved so that copy / paste worked like he did during the last 3 versions of Acrobat?

    Thank you!

Yes, it should work with all fields (perhaps with the exception of the signature signature

    fields)...

  • Password and filling out forms

I'm 99% sure the answer to my question will be 'you can't do that', but just in case I might have missed something, I'll ask him anyway.

I configured my contracts of sale with password so the document basis (terms and conditions) can be changed and the VRP can only fill the fields of the form necessary for example the name of the customer, address, price, etc. In the past, officials have then printed the scanned documents them back and then sent them to the client (they had earlier versions of the player, so could not save completed forms). Now, they are all upgraded to 11 player so will be able to save the completed documents and direct email to the customer.

I have now been asked, How do we stop a client to change information on the doc once he was sent to them, mainly the price. The sales representative should check that nothing has been changed once the form is returned, but is there something that can be done to stop one person to edit a document in a first time? It is not an option to give sales people unprotected documents and rely on their addition to the Security (which they would not be able to be in the drive anyway I think).

    Thank you

Ask the sales reps to sign the document. Once they do that and save the form fields would automatically get flattened to prevent people on the road of the edition.

  • Same form field on several pages, simpler to resize all

I have a form field (same name, same position) on many many pages, and I need to resize the width of all form fields, what is the best way to accomplish?

Access the form Edit mode and select all the fields in the list. You can sort by name to make it easier to find all instances at once.

Then right click on one of them, then select Properties. Go to the tab Position and set the Width to what you want it to be.

It might behave a little strangely when you change the value, but it should work.

  • PDF form coming in the e-mail, but no form fields are filled

I want to open a full PDF file and not an XML file which is sent when someone fills out a form online.  So, I made a document in Word, saved as a PDF, and then imported into LiveCycle Designer 8.0.  From there on, I created the fields in the form, add a button for the email out because the stock e-mail button does not work properly from what I've read (change the command send, add the e-mail address and change submitted as a PDF file) and save the document.  I then have an open document in Adobe Acrobat 8 Pro.  Go to advanced and choose enable usage rights in Adobe Reader.  Then save this file under a new name.  Then I can the PDF by e-mail to someone or put it on my site.

    Here's the problem:

When someone fills out the form, it will automatically send automatically to the correct mailbox (good).  The PDF file opens and the PDF form looks like that I designed this (good).  But all form fields that have been filled... nothing appears. all I see is my PDF (bad) form.  I tried at least a dozen ways over the past two days to create the PDF... but when the received PDF file is opened later, none of the form fields are visible with what someone types in.

Can someone tell me what I am doing wrong?  I'm not good at Adobe, but I'm learning.  I can understand most of the things, but this problem is driving me crazy.

    Thank you!

Thr default iOS or iAnything PDF Viewer does not support on a PDF form fields.

Without knowledge of the programs and specific systems, it is difficult to answer.

Overview programme Apple on Macintosh systems is known to have problems with the form, and it corrupts form fields insofar as they do not display the data unless the user is in the field. It is also know to make simple PDFs unreadable.

There could also be problems with various mail programs because PDF forms contain binary data and not simple text.

  • When I complete and sign a form and then print it out, the form data does not print.

When I complete and sign a form and then print it out, the form data does not print. The form fields are empty with the exception of any signature.

Thank you. Depending on your answer, I have compiled a procedure:

Fill & sign a form in Adobe CD and print the form fields:

    (1) open the document.

    (2) click on tools - prepare the form. All fields are displayed in a vertical list in the bottom right of the screen.

    3) click on the first field in the list, scroll to the bottom of the list and shift-click to select all.

    4) click on the first field in the document, make a right click, select Properties.

    (5) on the general tab, uncheck the box locked in the lower left corner. Under field properties common form, select Visible and uncheck the read-only box, close.

    (6) print out and save the file.

Note: even if you select all the fields in the document in step 3, this procedure may work for the fields on page 1. In this case, repeat steps 3 through 5 for each subsequent page.

  • Problems resizing of form fields

I have not had this problem before and use the form field in Acrobat Pro for years. All of a sudden, I can't resize form fields to any size I want. Or I can put the fields wherever I want. I used must be able to move and resize in tiny increments, and now, the fields behave as if they are locked on a grid on the page - so do not allow me to put the fields anywhere, I want. With resizing, it is quite similar to I can't resize smoothly - resizing jumps into the blocks.

No matter who else now facing this problem? I have not changed one of the preferences. Any help would be appreciated.

Look under the view menu and see line up on the grid is not checked.

  • How to edit pdf file (in indesign) without having to re-export then and redo all the fields of the form and formatting?

How to edit pdf file (in indesign) without having to re-export then and redo all the fields of the form and formatting?

Edit PDF files in InDesign is not a good idea. If the file was originally exported ID, then change the original and then create a new PDF file.

Open an old, and then use the command replace Pages to insert the new pages on the 'old'. The fields that you have already created will remain in place when you do this.

  • Editing Web App - demand payment? And limited to certain fields.

I have a web app created by my client. These are listed on the site and visitors to my client can 'book' an element. After an item is reserved for the customer completes the sale offline process to complete the sale.

Currently, this is done manually using a web forms with payment. When payment is received my client is going in and marked as reserved element of web application. I would like to automate this process...

To automate it, I think that I can add a field to the form of edition and once they make the payment, the item will be reserved. I have not actually tried to insert a form of payment in a publishing page layout. Which will work?

Assuming this works, I have another concern. Each Web app has fields 70 or so custom element. Many of these custom fields are for internal use and should not be available for the customer to see or change. If I have a change and the list only form fields I want the customer to be able to change it will erase the other fields. (I know I could hide the other fields in the edit form that the customer sees, but I prefer to keep completely hidden fields if possible).

This explains, someone has some ideas or ideas to manage such a situation?

    Thank you!

    Hello Lynda,

The webapp associated forms use a different .aspx treatment of active payment webforms, I fear that you will not be able to create a form of editing form to process payments online.

In Exchange, you can collect payments using a form enabled for the classic payment and using JS just after the form of payment, you can trigger the modification of webapp form is submitted.

There are some obvious drawbacks to this Setup, such as: you can't wait to see if the payment goes through trigger the webapp change form when the payment process is complete for example. Another disadvantage is that the process is not wise, that a visitor to the site can just trigger the webapp change form "manually" bulletproof security.

    I hope this helps.

Edit the label to your liking.

Go back and uncheck the option label to hide on the web page.

  • Form fields copy and pasting one PFD to another

Copy and paste form fields of a PFD to another while in form editing mode has stopped working. I did a hundred times and then the second document suddenly stopped to accept my objects to the Clipboard. That's happened?

I answered my own question by trial and error.

I worked with excel to create columns that will automatically detect the wizard. I then transferred these columns into a MASTER spreadsheet.

I had unconsciously tried to copy/paste text fields with the same name as the associated checkbox. It gives me a warning pop - up or anything like that so I could ' t understand why it didn't work. Hope this helps someone who has the same frustration I was.
