  This just happened to me today, the person said in English that they were from Microsoft Windows to D.C. and I got the 2 refunds coming, one for 49.99 and one for 300.00. When you press on for more information, that they finally gave up. They wanted me to turn on my computer, so they could process this information. I never contacted Microsoft for anything, ever. Sounds like a scam to me.

  It works for me. When the client tries to resolve the fqdn for the domain specified in "svc split dns.." he will contact the DNS server assigned through the Tunnel. For all other questions, he contacts the DNS outside the Tunnel.

  Hi sent an email to VMWare support, asking them if I could host VMs for my customers paying on ESXi 4. I got a response, which was 'no' which is fair enough.

  I then asked another question, asking if I was allowed to host a web server, java application server, mail server, Server database etc. for customers. Again, I've got an answer 'no', which surprised me, as seems to say that I cannot have the EULA:

  I think that there is some kind of misunderstanding between you and VMware support...

  You can do what you want for VM on ESXi 4, just as you can on ESX 4... What you do with these VMS are totally to you. If I wanted to start to host web sites for people (customers pay or just friends) then I could. Provided, of course, I aligned the complementary technologies, I would need for communication on the web for virtual machines. It would be the same if you had not used ESXi in the mix and had decided to use physical servers for each client (the old method)... Now with ESX/ESXi you can have a single host server and create additional virtual machines so that each client/customer (customer is probably a better term to use when communicating with people from VMware) has a server that do not have someone to another server.

  If you are going to host applications for others, I would say that having a SAN for the virtual machine is to be found as well as at least two servers set up for HA/DRS to make sure that you have no downtime if a host fails / has problems. Make sure that you have supported for the host (hardware and software) as well as the SAN. I'd also that you have a solution to backup and restore in place, not only the SAN network. If the people you pay to host apps/sites/etc, you should also have a sort of SLA in place (if you have not already) and to provide in the event that the customer's server has a failure, what will be the time to get online.

  They would think that you wanted to charge people to use the ESX/ESXi real host server. This isn't something I would do.

  I use agents fglam run on the server as the basis for ALS, if the host is in place or not.

  The report should show what fglams were declining, what time and for how long? That's why I chose disconnected rule Agent Manager customers.
