Flash will not play in Authorware

Help!
We have created an Authorware course with extensive Fash filesand are havig sporadic problems with users being able to view the pages that contain Flash. Does anyone have ideas, what it might be? WE have some users who have problems at all. We checked for browser, Java, Flash player or operating system issues and are short of ideas to try. Any help at all would be greatly appreciated.
We use AW version 7 and Flash MX 2004.
Glenda

Thanks to one and all!

It turned out to be the user's internet settings. One of our IT guys found it. Reset us all the security settings for the default level. Then went into the settings on the general tab and open "view objects". From there on, we removed the Authorware Player, forcing users to re - download a new player. It seems that security settings will not allow the player to download correctly. After resetting them, the user could download the player and display the course successfully. Don't you think that a Microsoft security update could change these settings? Most users don't even know that they are there and that it is possible to change.

I appreciate the time you have taken to try to solve my problem.

    Note that some sites have very well (e.g. youtube)

    Can someone suggest something, please?

    Let's try the following:

    1. Close the browser windows
    2. In Explorer, navigate to the following folder: C:\Users\username\AppData\Roaming\ (the best way to do this is to type %appdata%\microsoft\windows\sendto in the path of the Explorer bar).
    3. Remove the Macromedia folder
    4. Then, go to the Adobe folder and delete the folder 'Flash Player' inside.
    5. Finally, go to "c:\windows\system32\macromed\flash" and look for a file mms.cfg.  If it is present, please rename it.

    Once done, try those sites to reoffend.

  • Since the upgrade to Windows 8 Youtube and other videos flash will not play smoothly

    Since I've upgraded to Windows 8 Youtube and other flash videos will not play smoothly.  When I press play, the video freezes on an image and the sound is fine but the image is locked for several seconds.  So if it starts to play, he is so rough its not watchable.  If I pause the video and let it buffer for a bit and press play again it works usually smooth for 3-4 seconds in the rough again goes.

    This is the case with IE, Firefox and Chrome.  My computer is a HP DV7 3060 64-bit with 4 GB of Ram.

    The first thing is to correct the path to the file: "AC_RunActiveContent.js" is the current path is your hard disk, so you must download the file js AC_Run on the server, medium the easiest is to put it in the same folder as the html code path should then be:

    Hi, thanks. Your Flash files are correct, but as the Shockwave Flash object is not installed, then Flash Player will not work.

    The administrator account was not used (giving permission to install FP); An anti-virus/Spyware program blocked the installation of it or maybe a registry problem. You might also have a Kill bit is enabled.

    What anti-virus/Spyware program is installed?

    Have you had a Virus/Malware issue? If so what program it deleted?

  • The flash will not play when the window is not in focus (FF3, Windows XP)

    I made a javascript/flash system to play sound effects based on AJAX game I did.  For some reason, on some systems (it seems to be just Firefox 3 on Windows XP), users can hear the sound effects play while the window is brought to the point.  The sound effects do not play if they reduce the window or watching a different window.  Can any idea on how I fix?

    I'm a game on the Trombinoscope, hooves of fire, was not able to find a tablet that supports Adobe Flash player? Is there a Tablet out there that supports adobe flash player. They say only portable or PC adobe flash support. I pad does not either.

  • Flash will not play on reload

    Hey guys, I have searched the Internet for hours looking for a solution.  Looks like a few people have displayed the same problems I encounter but not solutions.

    I have a flash project that contains a preloader.  The project can be seen in this header: www.ovcfans.com/newklp

    The flash animation plays very well when first loading.  However, when IE is RELOADED or REFRESHMENT, the animation gets stuck on the first image I think.  The strange thing is that works perfectly in FireFox after charging.

    I have tried several different solutions installation and nothing suits.  I think it could be the action script on the preloader.  It's a preloader image, and then the animation starts.

    Here's the script of action on frame 1

    Stop();
    addEventListener (Event.ENTER_FRAME, checkLoad);
    function checkLoad(e:Event):void {}
    var pcent:Number is this.loaderInfo.bytesLoaded /this.loaderInfo.bytesTotal*100;.
    lbar.scaleX = pcent/100;
    LPC. Text = int (pcent) + "%";
    If (pcent == 100) {}
    removeEventListener (Event.ENTER_FRAME, checkLoad);
    this.gotoAndPlay (2);
    }
    }

    Any help would be much appreciated.  Thank you!

    1. open your fla in flash.

    2. click on file/publish settings/formats and check html

    3 publish

    4. download your published swf, html and AC_RunActiveContent.as files in a test on your server folder.

    5. test with ie.

  • Flash will not play on the internet

    Hello

    I made a few banners that play very well locally on my machine and on my machine of clients locally (within a local html page). But when my client or I put them online, they will play more (the same html-page).

    I have no idea why. These banners were online a few months ago, and then they worked well. I have republished only them. The only thing that is different is that I made these banners in the demo version of Flash CS4, and I have them reissued in my personal copy of Flash CS4 (were that when I made them).

    Anyone hase a clue as to why he won't play?

    You can view online here

    Problem solved. Thanks to this thread , I started to search in files external and finally found the problem.
    The flash file loads an external xml file called opendag. XML and check my customer file send me I quickly saw the problem. The name of my clients file extension was tiny (opendag.xml) then he should be uppercase (opendag. XML). after changing the case of the extension of name everything worked as expected. :)

  • Flash animations will not play after the flash update

    Hello

    It's really weird, but flash animations on most sites (sites like Ustream) will not play after that I updated the flash player. The funny thing is that on youtube play very well. I've tried disabling the addon of shockwave, relocation, etc., but nothing works. This problem is with firefox only because as the Chrome and Explorer the flash player works fine.

    Thank you.

    Thank you. In fact, it was not necessary because I have disabled protected mode flash and who did it. However, seems like it is not the best option but average tiem, I guess I have no choice.

    Thank you.

    I love this player the "rocket" 4 GB, better than the 260e I used to have. But I had only used 1 hour when he stopped playing and flashed a box pink with black letters. "Synchronize to continue your music subscription" which is strange, because all music has been downloaded out of my cd personal message does not disappear, and the player will not play. Any help.

    How do rip you the CD? If you have used Windows Media Player, the default settings create protected WMA files.

    Also, you should post topics related to the rocket on the plateau of the rocket.  -Moved to the Fuze forum

  • Flash animations will not play in Captivate 5.5

    Ahoy there

    We have recently updated to Captivate 5.5

    For some reason any incorporated flash animations will not play in CP 5.5 they play perfectly fine in preview mode of a slide in CP (F3), but will not play when I publish the project or get a glimpse of the output using F4.

    Flash animations are of different versions of Flash (3 CS, CS 4 and CS 5), and some use AS 2.0, some AS 3.0. The problem is valid for all .swf files

    Does anyone have an idea? This is starting to drive me crazy...

    Please let me know if I have to describe the issue in more detail.

    Kind rgds

    Casper

    Hello and welcome to the forum,

    AS2 animations will not play in CP5.5 or 5.0, because it supports only AS3. To explain possible questions, allow us to wait for the Flash gurus, there is a problem with complex animations. Try a search with Google because the search of the forums is not functional at the moment, there are several discussions on this problem.
