Flickering of screen Windows RTM 8.1

I have a Sony Vaio Pro I bought August 2013. It came with Windows 8, and it works very well (except occasional disconnect Wifi question). I have upgraded to Windows RTM 8.1 now when it is released through MSDN (I need to make sure that my software will work on it when it was released to the public). But Sony does not provide a driver for 8.1 still and when I load the Intel for Win8.1 for HD 4400 driver I get television static/flickering on the internal laptop display. If I connect an external monitor then everything works. See this link: https://communities.intel.com/thread/43225?tstart=0

I tried to open a support ticket with Sony, but they are clueless, they thought that I wanted to upgrade my CPU and replied that I can't upgrade the CPU in my notebook? !!! I asked them for a video driver Windows 8.1... Yes, it was a difficult question...

hakanl,

8.1 Windows has not yet been published.  Previews of beta and RTM versions are not supported.  Sony will release the pilots and support when 8.1 goes live.

In the meantime, you can check if the new version of the VAIO update is available on esupport and start to update your VAIO computer with the drivers that are available.  Sony is slowly pushing some updates to driver for 8.1 before publication and some drivers ONLY will be available after version 8.1.

  • Flickering of screen since installing Windows 8.1

I have a brand new HP Pavilion TS 11 laptop which came with Windows 8 is installed.  Yesterday I installed Windows 8.1 and since then various sites Web seems to suffer from flickering of screen - particularly visible on those with a white background.  Microsoft seem to not be able to offer an explanation except that it has something to do with 'refresh rate', although he didn't offer any explanation on how to solve this problem... do you have an idea what could be causing it and if there's a cure?

Thanks - I love my new laptop, but don't like what Windows 8.1 has done for her!

    Amanda

    Hi Amanda1962,

I understand that you now get a flickering screen on your laptop HP Pavilion TouchSmart 11.  I believe that this is due to an update of the BIOS that is needed. Here is a link to to find your model.

Once you have your template go to the BIOS drivers.

You also have an option to restore the Windows 8 back to the original. Here is a link to show you how to do this restore.

    I hope this helps.

    Hello

One possibility would be to disable the clickpad function that is causing this behavior.

    You can do the following.

Open windows control panel and on the top right, next to the display by: select "large icons".  In the new page layout, select the entry of Synaptics.

The option, you must disable is called "Edge slips" - just click the box to remove the check mark, then click on apply and Ok to save the setting.  For an example, see the picture below.

  • Full-screen Windows 7 bug

So, I play a game called ROBLOX and I like to play in full screen. Problem is sometimes people Skype me and so I alt + tab to read the message. So I reopen ROBLOX and full screen does not work. I can't click or use WASD to move and a sidescroll bar appears at the bottom of the screen and that's all I can click.

Some games do not come back to alt/tab well.  It may not be better, but does minimize the game

  • Why does the login screen Windows continue reappear on my monitor?

I use Windows 7 Pro.  Until a few months ago, I couldn't leave my desktop PC on overnight.  As soon as I sat down and moved the mouse or tap a key on the keyboard, my screen saver would disappear and I could go right to work.  It was great!  Several months ago, a problem started that I describe.

Now, when I walk away from my PC for a few hours and return, I see the Windows login screen.   It is not all the time, but it produces most of the time.   My first step in tackling the problem was to check the settings of the screen Setter.  The bomber of the screen ("ribbons") is supposed to go after 12 minutes of inactivity.

There is a box to the right of this setting that says 'On Resume, display the login screen'.  This box is averified.

Then I adjusted to High Performance power settings.  PC display is Never set for when to turn off the screen and also never to when putting the computer to sleep.   I then changed the advanced power settings to try to remedy the problem.  I made sure the following settings are the following:

High Performance requires no password on wake up.

Turn off the hard drive at the end of 800 minutes

    The sleep settings:

    Sleep after = never

    Allow hybrid sleep = Off

    Hibernate after = never

    Enable timers wake = Disable

Turn off the display = never

Power button: Sleep button Action = Nothing

For security reasons, I usually use my PC as a standard user.  But the login screen Windows guard reappear after I leave my PC for a while if I run as a limited user or administrator of the master.

Can you give me some additional ideas on what I can do to remove the login screen Windows reappear after I leave my PC?

    Hello

Thank you for your reply with the requested information, sorry for the delay in response.

I suggest you follow the steps below:
    1. on your desktop "Windows + R" screen press button together press
    The Board of Directors.
    2. in the command box type run 'control userpasswords2' click OK.
    3. uncheck the box for "users must enter a user name and password
    This computer '.
    4. change the screen saver 'Ribbons' to something else for example
    'Bubbles '.
    5 restart the computer.
Now, check if the problem reappears.
Hope this helps, please answer with the results for assistance.
  • Black screen with cursor, no login screen; Windows 7 Home Premium 32-bit

    Hi all

I have a Dell Inspiron 1501 running Win7 Home Premium 32 - bit with IE9. It worked perfectly fine for over a year. The last update listed in the system restore was on 23/04/2011. He installed the Windows updates.

My husband used the computer very well the next morning. When I tried to start the computer, it wouldn't so I thought that maybe the battery should be charged. I plugged it in and nothing helped. The load button wouldn't even nothing worked at all. I bought a new battery and it came yesterday. I changed the batteries and let one over new-completely. I then tried to start the computer and he did something I could not do in months... He ran the disk check.

The disk check lasted almost 2 hours. He wouldn't let me cancel it either. He said (from the pieces that I could see) that system files have been moved, a ton of them said that they have been replaced, others have been removed, and some have been updated. I knew not what do when it restarted because it did it is normal startup, showed at the Windows startup screen and then when I thought he was going to the login screen, it became black and only the cursor has been visible and moving.

I restarted again and this time the display of incorrect closing came. I tried all the options - normal mode, safe mode safe mode w/networking and safe mode w/prompt - all results were the same. Then I tried using the recovery tool to fix the problem. Startup Repair showed no problem, System Restore showed either deleted or corrupted files and I ran Windows Memory Diagnostic and it showed no problems. I even ran the Diagnostic tool in the start menu.

I think that chkdsk deleted my files of Windows, but I don't know how to get back them. I have the OS disk and tried to use the repair feature, but nothing yet. Also, I had to ask my husband did it to my laptop and he answered nothing. So I had to be more specific, and his answer to my questions were: ' I didn't download anything "and" I just closed the laptop, I never disconnected or shut it down. I guess that's the reason for the battery works not properly the next day.

If someone could help me with this, I would be very grateful.

A method to try to get to the desktop (try in two regular windows
