HL-DT-ST DVD + RW GH50N in a minitour Inspiron 546
Drive will not read a CD. I tried regedit fix without an appointment. No UpperFilters or LowerFilters entry in the right panel. I go into the Device Manager and it says the DVD / CD drive does not work properly. Any further suggestions? Thanks, Ben
benevansI ignore it. It does not work. I then tried the external hard drive, I've had. The drive worked on my wife's computer.
Then you wrote that you tried and it has not worked.
You want to check that this external hard drive works on the woman of your computer now and not a few days or months or years and that your wife's computer is the same operating system as yours. External USB drives may require installing additional drivers not included with Windows.

DVD drive does not open. What can I do?
Yesterday, the DVD drive in my Dell laptop, Inspiron, Windows Vista has worked very well. This morning, the drive does not open when I pressed the eject button, although the indicator flashed several times. Dell support site mentions try "eject feature in Windows", but I can't find information about this.
It is important to get the DVD drive works because I'm ready to upgrade to Windows 7.
How can I fix the drive?

How to convert DVD to YouTube video format__
I filmed a Friends memorial service using a Panasonic VDR - M50 DVD camcorder. My computer is a Dell Inspiron 546 AMD Athlon II x 2 250 processor 3.00 GHz with 8 GB of RAM, with the operating system Windows 7 Professional 64 - bit, and I try to use Windows Live Movie Maker to create a Youtube movie compatible format so that I can download. I do not fancy changes and I have a song that is at 3 minutes and 25 seconds in length copied on a DVD.
When I put the DVD in my computer, it loads and plays the entire song. However, when I open Windows Live Movie Maker and be, drag and drop, or choose the add video icon; Windows Live Movie Maker shows the song as 'only' 1 minute; and when I play the song is actually only 1 minute. I went back and re-recorded the song, 2 times more off the movie-camera, but he continues to copy only less than 1/3 of the song?
Should I stop using Windows Live Movie Maker and download something else that allows you to convert?

I plan on finally replace my boot with a Samsung 840 Pro 256 GB SSD drive. I had a great experience with the Samsung 840 250 GB big on my laptop.
I intend to do a clean install of Win 7 Pro 64 bit.
The most disturbing aspect is always the drivers: I find the Dell Drivers page very confusing because even when I let the Dell software detects my system, it gives me many more options that I think I need, including multiple versions of the same driver.
Is there a centralized place where I can only get the drivers I really need?
The basic specifications are given below.

I moved some files back and forth between my computer and my new USB drive, without no problem noticed so far. Yet, I can't help but think there will be problems at some point. I was hesitant to format the USB key, mainly because it came with security features installed, features I would lose if I formatted to NTFS.
Potential future problems or usage restrictions? Please give me some advice?
For your info, here are some details of my system:
Computer: Dell Studio XPS 9100
Operating system: Windows 7 Home Premium (64 bit), SP1
CPU: Intel Core i7 930 CPU 2.80 GHz (4 cores, 8 wires)
System memory: 9,00 GB of physical memory

Video card: ATI Radeon HD 5700 Series, 1 GB memory card
Display: Dell ST2420L, HDMI, 1920 x 1080 (32-bit)(60 Hz)
Yes, it should usually be fine.
There are a few restrictions on FAT32 as a 4 GB maximum file size, which sometimes meet people, but it's a very large file. For details of the restrictions of each of the file systems, please see:

Case of upgrades for a Dell Inspiron 545
Recently, I broke the front panel/Panel on my Dell Inspiron 545. I went in to sit down and accidentally launched.
Is there a business out there that I can move all my current games in?
Or should I stay with this broken case?
Info about my computer:
Motherboard: Dell Inc. 0N826N (Socket 775)
Just in case where it is necessary:
Graphics card: 512 MB ATI Radeon HD 4800 Series (Dell)
Optical drive: HL-DT-ST DVD +-RW GH50N ATA Device
RAM: 6.00 GB Dual - Channel DDR2 @ 398 MHz
My computer model: www.dell.com/.../pd
I would like a new case in any case, this case seems nice, but it's a bit boring. I'm looking for cases that look nice, as a case of fantasy game, with LED fans and others.
Summary: I want a new case to replace my old, is it possible? My components will in a new? If it is, leave suggestions in your answer.
Thanks for your time. Your answers are greatly appreciated. :)
You may need to do some rewiring, but it is mATX and includes a detachable IO shield.

Hello. I am running Windows XP Pro 32-bit. I just had a problem that I had never met before. I have inserted a CD in my CD-RW/DVD Philips player (for laptop Dell Inspiron 6000, circa 2006) and icky blue screen came up with the error: "ArCCD.sys driver tries to access memory after his release." After searching for a bit, I decided to remove this sys file.
Now I'm trying to recover this file but I can't find anywhere on Ms. What should I do?
Thank you in advance!

USB internal card reader not detected by Windows 7 Pro 64
The return of the story is this: my Dell Inspiron 546 recently dropped when the HARD drive failed terminally. "Rather than replace the HD, I opted for the upgrade of ' with a refurbished desktop computer. I'm done with a Dell Optiplex 760 MT, which I am very happy with. He has a new 128 GB SSD mounted and I have a new 1 to Seagate Barracuda disk HARD ready to go in it, when I get a longer SATA data cable for it.
In any case, I got a few pieces off the Inspiron to go in the Optiplex: memory card reader 2-4 GB of RAM, DVD - RW and media 3.5 "internal. The RAM of works well (taking the system to a total of 6 GB). The DVD - RW works fine (once I activated the SATA port in the BIOS). However, the card reader does nothing.
I plugged into a vacant USB connector on the motherboard, which has been marked something like "INT USB". However, Windows doesn't see it, and it does not show in the Device Manager. It's as if she is not there at all (no lights, nothing).
This card reader worked fine on the Inspiron (which was an AMD Athlon 64 machine, but running Windows 7 it 32 b).
Any ideas? I had a glance through the BIOS and can't see anything obvious. I assumed that being a USB device, it would just spring to life, but I do not.
The Optiplex has the following important elements:
Intel Core 2 Duo 3 GHz (E8400)
Intel Q43 chipset
Transcend SSD 128 GB
6 GB of RAM (2 x 1 + 2 x 2)
(HD 3000 memory) integrated Intel graphics card
DVD - ROM (standard adjustment)
DVD - RW (from the Inspiron).
The fixed.
First, to use the USB header, you should disable the "floppy" in the BIOS. I tried this but it didn't work. However, States manual service, you should disable the front disk to install the player, so I unplugged the drive, put under tension, then stopped again, plugged in and restarted. I also disconnected and re connected the cable at the end of the drive.
According to these fixed it, I don't know, but now it's the hunky dory, seen in the maps of Manager and reading of the device as it should.

Hello.
I have to come to grips with my current PC is almost dead. It is only 3 years old, and there is no need at this point that I feel I'm paying a fortune he get up and running.
I plan to get a new system in place. I do not play or any other intensive programming of memory. I use it mainly for works in the multimedia/internet and occaisionally via Citrix.
My only real requirements are that I want a DVI input on my sound card to my monitor (I'll buy an adapter if absolutely necessary) and an optical output. I have a speaker system that requires only or coaxial.
Other than that, have I keep most of my data to an external drive, I don't need a huge HARD drive. I had 2GB of memory front and that was a lot. What is a solid system and reliable which could achieve all these? I'm trying to keep the costs mainly. I won't need any software to install outside the BONE that will reduce costs as well. I intend to use a USB wireless adapter in a replacement Wireless also.
My goal is to come in less than 500 if possible. I guess Inspiron is the way forward? I owned a Dell more than 10 years ago and you know a few things have changed since then. I remember it was very reliable :)
Thank you!!
Well, you have a few options with the Inspiron series that's for sure. You didn't say if you had a preference of CPU, so I chose the Inspiron 570 series that uses the AMD Athlon II CPU type.
I cobbled together something together for you real quick that includes a card audio Sound Blaster X - Fi Extreme (a optical output) - all said & it's $439,98. I looked towards the top of the comparison page Inspiron 570 & chose the option "Standard" (the one to the right of 'Economy'), then added the map its X - Fi for $59.99.

If you go with the AMD Athlon II X 3 processor (instead of the X 2 here now), you will have more processing power. But it'll get you to $520.
If you decide to have 4 GB of RAM instead of 3 GB so you are looking for $ 475.
I know that the hard drive is probably WAY more that you need but 750GB is the smallest option.I hope this helps! If you need assistance please do not hesitate to ask!
