How can I convert a plain text XML insert?

I have a file fm9, about half of it is in the elements that can be edited directly in the structured view, but the other half seems to be reported ax XML that is difficult to alter. Is it possible to import this insert xml into the document so consists of 'ordinary' elements alongside the elements already in there and is as easy to manage in the same way as items already in structured mode. Thank you.

A bit of history...

If you have a structured file fm, you can insert another file that contains the structure by reference (a text inset). I guess the inserted file uses the same set of items (catalogue of same element) as the file container, or the result would be invalid. Now click on the text box to select it, and then select Modify > text box properties. In the dialog box, click on convert. This converts the text inserted into the editable ELEMENTS, no text; It is the same as if you had imported the file inserted by copy. You can now edit the elements inserted in the dossier containing; in fact, they ARE a part of the file, is no longer connected to the original file inserted.

I've never used insert XML text. But I'm guessing that the elements of the XML file are compatible (i.e., the same game) with the items in the file container. Otherwise, the resulting file is not valid. So, I guess all you have to do is identical with a standard structured text overlay, that is, follow the same instructions as above.

If this isn't what you're trying to do, please provide details.
