  You can do this:

  1. go to file > import.

  2. Select the same PSD file you have already imported as a Composition.

  3. still in the import dialog box, select import as "Footage", not as "Composition".

  4. in the next dialog box, AE asking you if you want to import the PSD as 'merged layers"(not what you want) or if you want to choose a specific layer in the PSD (see image below). Choose this option and simply select the new layer. That's all.

  

• Lines undulating AVI when imported into After Effects

  The file I'm trying to use a video file that was created first by capturing video from a DV tape and rendered in Adobe Encoder as a compressed AVI. AVI looks very good until it is imported into After Effects.

  

  This is a good example of what the appearance of lines as the most notable are the lines near the net, the upper part of the net and the coast line up to now. This is actually a shot of the first, when this image is displayed (small size) here it's the same thing I see in After Effects.  I guess that there is a problem in the settings when I create the AVI file and the configuration of the After Effects project. The problem is that I know almost nothing about After Effects and only a little more info on first. If someone could give me advice (that is entered as the best possible) as to what could be causing this and how can I correct, it would be fantasctic

  File--> interpretation of sequences--> hand. Hose off fields, if you want it display is sharper. Everything is perfectly normal. Compressed still images will expose artifacts and the color space conversion and various display modes between the programs make them more or less stand.

  You upgrade. You're still too early for shape layers.

• R3D files is no longer working or import into After Effects, after update.

  Just updated to the latest After Effects go about 30 min. All my. R3D files went offline. I can import them isn't over either. They worked with all versions up to this update.

  I reinstalled all the latest red codecs just to be sure. Can someone please check on that?

  This only bug fixes Update corrections occurred after effects CC 2015 (13.7.1) on Mac OS x files: RED (.r3d) can still be imported and are not reported as missing in existing projects.

  This update is only for Mac OS X and is not available for Windows, because the bug with the RED files does not occur under Windows. The most recent update for After Effects on Windows is after effects CC 2015 (13.7.1).

  I designed a website in illustrator and imported the aftereffects layers to animate, but the colors are much darker. Images, Composition and size of the maintaining layer give the same results.

  The blue and the image are extremely dark in comparison. I've never had this problem before, any help will be appreciated.

  As says Mylenium, albeit rather abruptly, CMYK is not a good workspace for the web or video. Work in CMYK mode for printing, if you must, but not for what it is intended for the screen.

  I created a still image in Premiere Pro, I've tried to "Replace with After Effects Composition year" in order to animate a little. However, for some reason, the image does not load in After Effects. I tried it with several other images, all that worked. AFAIK nothing has changed since these instances to it (be put aside, obviously, the fact that I use a different image).

  Any idea what I can do to fix this?

  Temporal changes and frozen images of Premiere Pro are not AE. No more titles or transitions. It is a limitation, you must live with for now.

  You process audio in Audition. ECHO and reverberation of a large empty room is very difficult to remove. After Effects are for video. The audio tools in AE are extremely limited.

  The most common cause is that your trust is in no RGB and CMYK color mode.

  You add an expression to the property that you want to order by selecting the property and then by holding down the Alt/Option key. Here are the basics: Adobe - search: the expressions. Learn more by typing key words such as expressions in the field search for help in the upper right corner of the AE.

  If you want keyframes in a single layer to match the keyframes in another, then you can link the properties with a simple expression that is created by dragging the pickwhip to layer property from the slave to copy the master layer that you want to track. This example would bind the rotation of a layer to another rotation. The second expression would offset values and is an example of how you define in your animation cycle to the top of the opposite leg. You just know how many images there are in the cycle. Just go to the last image and read the number of frame. It's easier if you have the calendar set up to read in frames. Change the display time by holding down the Ctrl/Cmnd key by clicking on the time indicator.

  If you want to have the slave shift layer in time, then you add an argument valueAtTime expression as in this example using the rotation property of the main layer:

  r = thisComp.layer("Master").transform.rotation;

  offset = r.valueAtTime (time +. 5)

  This assumes that your cycle of keyframes is 1/2 second.

  If you are more comfortable working with frames in seconds and then you change the expression like this assuming that the number of images in your game to keyframe is 15:

  TF = 15; Number of the frame in the last keyframe in the cycle

  r = thisComp.layer("Master").transform.rotation;

  TTF = tf/(1/thisComp.frameDuration);

  offset = r.valueAtTime (time + ttf)

  Here is an example of pin simple puppet:. Dropbox - Expression leads to foot Cycle CC 12 aep (If your browser adds a .txt extension, simply remove it and you should be able to load the project 2012 CC and later). I arranged the workspace so that it was easy to see what I had done. Given that I've created a loop instead of a ping-pong of the keyframe in the middle of the cycle was used as at the beginning.
