• SQL and Exchange on the same material - need help with storage!

  Hi all!

  I am definitely a newbie in the world of virtualization.  A colleague and I have spent hours scouring the Internet and reading white papers for answers and have been unable to find exactly what it takes.  So far, there has not been a lack of trying.  We are a very small company with 75 employees.  We have an Exchange Server and implement our first SQL Server and we want to virtualize both on hardware nine using the ESX 4.0 Essentials.  I don't know, probably not the best two apps to virtualize on a single piece of hardware, but we have about 12 people, using SQL server... at least for the foreseeable

  the future.  I'll try to make this simple in my questioning:

  (1.) what is the difference between a logical unit number, a PIN, a VMFS, a VM data store and how they relate to each other?  I know what means LUNS and VMFS and I know what a brooch is a hard drive, so no links to wikis on the definition of a LUN ;-).  Been there, done that.   These terms seem to be used very freely in all directions and it's confusing about how they relate to storage.

  (2.) we have 6 146 GB SAS drives for storage on my HP ML350G6, the config that I want to work with is the following:

  2 hard drives - RAID 1 - held Exchange OS, T-logs Exchange and SQL OS (possibly install VCenter Server on that as well in another virtual machine)
  4 hard drives - RAID 10 - will hold the Exchange and SQL DB database.

  Y at - it faults with this configuration?

  (3.) if #2 above is OK, how you (and you should in our small store scenario) cover several RAID (spindle?) arrays with a virtual machine.  In other words, how to you create a virtual Exchange computer and upgrade the operating system on a RAID, newspapers on the same value but different partition RAID and the Pb on a completely different RAID set?

  (4.) if #2 not OK, I should just create 2 simple VM Exchange, a for SQL and worry not separate newspapers/operating systems of databases on RAID berries?

  VMware "" still does not see the storage, particularly the way in which you install. ESX will simply see a drive, format it with VMFS, so you can create files of your virtual hard disk on top of that (.vmdks) and your virtual configuration (.vmx)

  vCenter may work in esx, but it is preferable to have an another box, also don't forget that vcenter has its own SQL database and needs 3 + GB of ram. In your configuration, you can do better leaving vcenter out of the picture completely.

  If you are using Windows 7, you can use a repair disk to fix this. If you do not, find someone who works in Windows 7 and they should be able to make one for you. If you run she'll fix it - assuming that's all that's wrong.
  
  Otherwise, you may need to do a full restore. For instructions, see page 104-105 HERE .
  
  Now if you have deleted the recovery partition, and that you don't a not burn backup discs - you will have to order from HP, or find someone with the OS disc that matches the product key on the bottom of your computer. The latter is a much more difficult way to re - install.

  After 10 years of LabVIEW experience I'm totally lost.

  It's my first project with DAQmx and I do not know how to handle.

  My configuration: Windows7. LabVIEW 2012 DevSuite; X Series USB-6366

  My goal: trigger value encoder and 2 inputs analog

  I would get a result for the value of the encoder and each of the two analog inputs for each change of the value of the encoder (not more! I do not want to sort a huge amount of data afterwards)

  I was able to configure it with the measurement and Automation Explorer, but have no idea how to do that in a LabVIEW configuration.

  Read all of the examples I could find the analog inputs and the encoder with SampleClock. This isn't what I'm looking for.

  I would be very happy if someone could guide me to my solution.

  You'll get there, but yes, the first exhibition to DAQmx is probably a little overwhelming.  A few other tips based on your screenshot (I'm on LV2010 & can't open the code).

  1. "allow buffer overwrites" is that a functional but description is not text.  It lies under the Read DAQmx property node and must be configured before starting the task.  Here is an excerpt:

  

  2. it is usually (but not always) an available timing system to be used for all HAVE channels in a task just by the material.  As a result, all channels to HAVE should be included in a single task.   You can do this easily in chaining your call 'DAQmx create Virtual Channel' twice the job output and input/output error.  Because the second call will receive a task refnum as input, it will configure the 2nd channel of AI to be part of the same task.

  (It is possible to specify just several channels in a single call, but separate calls gives you the ability to configure different setting on the scale or range of entry).

  3. the 'random', which IA task gave you the error is due to the lack of sequencing in your attempts to start tasks.  The question which is the fortunate success that happens to run first can (and does) vary from run to run.  By combining the two channels to HAVE in a single task, this problem will disappear, but you want to be sure that the tasks of the AI and the counter are started * before * any clock signals come to PFI8.

  4. "change detection" will be available for digital input assignments, not tasks of meter.  And it is also generally supported only for a digital port a-bit value.  Other ports then that support data acq clocked by the software on demand.  I guess one of these questions is the source of your error.

  On the boards of the M series that I used, change detection has been supported only on port 0 - I think that the same thing will be true for the X-series cards.  The following took place without error for me using a simulated X series device.  By selecting another port gave an error.

  OK first turned off im not a computer genius or an irritable person. but I have two PCs, one runs windows vista that in recent years its got terribly slow with each update and in particular some of them it becomes a bit slower, I noticed. I would like to install the updates of the browser windows 7 and all this reallycan help speed that my old pc can run games online and pc itself can run faster but I need to install these make the updates. my browser and pc so slow it is literally an analysis sometimes or just stops. It does not help the games that are played in particular in the form of online browser. I'm really at a loss what to do. I completely erased the HDD and reset to factory settings that makes my pc running at a pace that is very nice but not fast enough for some games online that work 7. is there something that you have out there which can remove all glitched updates and only installs the updates that really are needed and will not clutter up my pc or do my pc slow as a snail again.  or a list of important updates only that you need just to move to 7 with duty to update ALL updates. When I deleted the hard drive at the factory, it runs great. then it is better in a few years. I don't want to end up with the same problem. again and again... or end up not being able to play my games online, because the software cannot be updated. When I tried to update my software back again once to a crawl even AFTER I had just wiped out the hard drive {not to mention I had to whipe it again to get the updates to do works back} so obviously, as I suspected it was the windows updates that are a malfunction of my pc. I have even higher speed dsl and it works like a charm on any other pc very well and runs on this pc as well when his shattered fine if not not not my net access is make my browser. I'm really at a loss here.  I hope someone out there can help publicize me updates anyone can help me and those that I should avoid because it's very frusterating. • Replaced the hard drive, need help with drivers and utilities!

  Yesterday, I replaced my old hard drive with a new WD, and I reinstalled Windows Vista.  Everything goes fine until I jumped in the utilities and drivers (Resource CD) supplied with the laptop.  I guess I thought that the CD all the work, would do to reinstall all the necessary drivers and utilities...  Now I'm stuck with a laptop computer that cannot connect to the internet, and the screen is too big.  I don't know there is more wrong with my laptop than meets the eye.  On the CD of drivers & utilities there the list of drivers and some of them have check marks, others do not.  I tried following some online course on which those who/what order to upload, but I don't even have some recommended drivers on the Dell.com site (specific to my Inpiron 1545 model)!  I know that I could download them immediately the site, but I don't even have wifi to do.

  In addition, I read the performance of a Dell Factory Image Restore and I tried it.  When I get the black screen with no option, I have to click on "Repair computer" but the option is not available either... I thought that maybe it would be an easy way to restore my laptop (readers and all) to the original settings.  Maybe the option is not there because my computer is practically empty, with nothing to restore? All I have on my laptop at the moment is Windows Vista 64 bits and drivers a couple that I don't know much.

  Bit of help and advice would be great.

  I'm new to OAF and works on a requirement to add some custom validation when the user clicks a button in a seeded standard page.

  The approach I took was to extend the seeded controller object managed this press event button and put my custom logic in the extended controller and substitute the standard controller through customization.

  The standard rate which was pressing the Complete button A Page, the user was taken to the next and epepinee page (Page B) some operations based on records that have been chosen Page A.

  Part of the custom validation requirement that was if some postings were not met, the user must be a pop-up asking if they really wanted to move forward and if they have selected Yes then continue with the seeded standard flow (transition to page B) and if they have NOT selected then just remain on the current page.

  I have used OADialogPage and to do this, in part, the question , I am running into is that when the user selects one or more records using a check box in a region of several record (table) and click the full page and if the validation fails then a modal page and the user made a selection i.e.either Yes or no modal page and when they return to the calling page (ex. Page A), all data (records) they chose previously is lost (the Page is refreshed). Based on what I see on this forum, I suspect it's because after having click Yes on the modal page and then return to the original page the processRequest fires again and the VO data is queried again and has all the parts on the page are lost. Since I am changing the flow in seedlings pages based on the intervention of the user I'm confused as to how this problem can be solved. that is, prevent the page refreshes or preserve the selections that were made before you navigate to modal page. Any help is really appreciated!

  I managed to work around this problem by adding a simple control in my controller processRequest method extended to avoid the call to super.processRequest incase lhen control returns to the page once the user has made a selection on the Page of the dialog box

  The error "cannot be read" indicates that the folder where your photos are to be copied in has no WRITE permission. Change your permissions on this folder.

  I used Premiere Pro 6.0 widely enough over the years and have recently moved to first Pro CS5.

  With Premiere Pro 6.0 I could move/drag clips on the timeline and their linked audio file would be to spend with them.  If I passed the video to a different video track, say, an existing clip, the audio would also move to a free audio trail entry and not automatically on any what audio existing.  This would allow me to rearrange the clips on the timeline simply by moving and using other video tracks as temporary storage location... easily and loses not or write on any other audio existing.

  However in first Pro CS5 if I do the same thing, the video will move to the other video track I move, but the audio will remain in the audio track say and will write on any audio existing when the mouse button is released.  The only way to get around this, I do not see in the manual is to: (1) drag the video to the other track video, and (2) press the CHANGE of <>key, while that (3) dragging the audio linked to a different audio track to avoid audio existing to be written too.

  My question: is there a configuration: I put in CS5 to allow moving / dragging clips to work as in Premiere Pro 6.0?  I already messed up several times in CS5 inadvertently overwrite audio existing.

  Your expert advice and recommendations would be greatly appreciated.

  The workaround is indead now SHIFT and dragging.

  There is no way to put it as he was at 6.0.

  You'll get used to it over time, we all had.
