I installed Adobe Reader, but he repeated to me that I need a newer version. What should I do now?

I can't open a PDF file from the site Web of Boy Scouts because Adobe keeps telling me to install the latest version. Help. Please, I beg you.

Hi sandialoha,

When you try to open the PDF in reader or Web browser?

Download the PDF on your system (right click on the PDF link-> record under...) & then open it with the player.

Kind regards

Nicos

    Hello!

I'm trying to access a portion of a Web site and it asks me to install Adobe Reader (or Adobe Acrobat) to access the content of the Web site.

    Here's what it looks like:

    Abobe.PNG

It is written in French, but it is translated by for best results, open this PDF with Adobe Acrobat 9 or Adobe Reader 9, with a more recent version.
And the link says to Download Adobe Reader now

The thing is, I have already installed Adobe Reader on my computer. I installed the version is the 11th.

What can I do now to access the content of this Web site?

Thanks for reading my question, I hope that we will succeed!

You may need to try a different browser. Many browsers use their own pdf viewers now as you can see, can cause problems.

You can also try a right click and save the PDF on your computer and then using file > open from drive to see.

  • Cannot install Adobe Reader!

Hello. I had to bring my Mac, but for now it only works on 10.5.8. I am trying to install Adobe Reader, but the new version does not work. I've done some looking to find a version that did, and they (Adobe) say that the X version work. Now when I try to download an older version of them, it does not work, giving me the error "following failed install step: run the script preinstall for payload.» This is for version XI, which should still work. When I try to use the Adobe Web site to download the older versions, the site goes down only to OS X 10.6.4. I found a site of Adobe for older versions which had version 10.1, but when I downloaded and installed, the installer wanted to select a player version to update. Of course, I didn't drive, so there is nothing to update.

So I'm stuck. I can't find a version 9.4, Intel, or a reliable download for the 9.5. I would like to be able to download and work with PDF files, but for now, all I have found.

    Any help is appreciated.

  • Cannot install Adobe Reader 10 or 11

I tried to open a PDF file from the website of the Government.
After that I open the file, it says that I need a newer version of the adobe reader software to view the content.

I went to the Adobe Web site and tried to update my player.

During the installation an error saying that I already have a more functional version installed.

I then tried again to open this PDF, always telling me to update my player, I went to add/remove programs and uninstalled my Adobe Reader XI

Now the problem starts, after uninstalling, I have not a reader or acrobat installed on my system.

But when I tried to download and install Adobe Reader 11 (install_reader11_en_gtbd_awe_aih.exe) 79% he displays an error and returns this message:

"Windows Installer does not allow upgrade of managed advertised products. At least one characteristic of the product must be installed before applying the update. »

A similar situation for Adobe Reader 10 (install_reader10_en_mssd_aaa_aih) stops at 79%, returns another message:

"Setup has detected that you already have a more functional product installed. "The installation program will now end."

The two processes showing 'Download' before 75% and 'Installation' to 76%, then error occurs at 79%

I checked for other Adobe products, I have installed on my machine, they are:

    AIR

    Audition 3.0

    Flash Player ActiveX 14

    Photoshop CS5.1

    Shockwave Player 12.0

I've never used AIR so I uninstalled it as well, but the problem remains.

Now I can't open any PDF on my system, and I don't have an Adobe Reader on your computer. He either tells me I have a more functional version or I need at least a characteristic of the product installed before applying the update.

What can I do now? I don't want to re - install all Adobe products. In the hope of a solution.

You can try to use this tool first remove all traces of your computer:

    http://labs.Adobe.com/downloads/acrobatcleaner.html

Then you can download the complete player offline installer from

    http://get.Adobe.com/reader/Enterprise/

After downloading, restart your computer and run the Setup program before anything else.

  • Installed Adobe Reader XL successfully, but it does NOT open PDF files

I installed Adobe Reader on a new computer (installed and uninstalled several times today) However, whenever I install it, I get the same results. When I open Adobe Reader, it opens with a gray screen, then closes. Regardless if I click a PDF file of the file or open it an icon, it's always the same result. I can open these files with Adobe Reader version 9 (on another computer). I am running Windows 7.

How can I get a copy of Adobe 9 to try it?

Try this: use Windows Explorer and navigate to C:\Program Files (x 86) \Adobe\Reader 11.0\Reader, and then double-click Eula.exe and accept the license agreement.

If you want to return to Reader 9.x, uninstall the XI player and download the installer from http://get.adobe.com/reader/enterprise/

What happens when you try? Your guard is defined to allow installation? Are you sure that you are downloading from the official website of Adobe?
