Interactive PDF form

Hello

I was asked to create a PDF using Acrobat form that has display of dynamic field based on the responses, questions, followed as I am new to creating forms in Acrobat, I was wondering if someone could point me in the right direction. I have managed to create the form with the fields, but do not seem to be able have to show/hide according to the previous answer. Perhaps Acrobat is the right product for this but in PDF format, file is the result of purpose necessary I thought it would be a good starting point.

Thus, for example;

Question 1 is a response from the drop-down list offering 2 options A or B

If selected it is followed by question 2

If B is chosen it is followed by question 3 and so on

I would also if possible can prove hide sections based on the selections of dropdowns, if possible.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks in advance

Mark Baker

You can show or hide form fields based on a selection, but you can not're-throughput' static file content, if that's what you mean.

To be able to do that you would need to create your form using Adobe LiveCycle Designer, which is very different from Adobe Acrobat and is sold separately.

  • Buttons for interactive PDF forms

I've created a report of 140 pages in Indesign and have used interactive buttons on almost all pages for users can click on back to menu, homepage etc.

However when I export it as an interactive pdf, it opens in Acrobat with the purple shape bar on top - that says "Please fill in the following form" (I don't want because the document is not a form). I understand that this occurs if a certain amount of buttons is used in an interactive document, is there a way this can be removed?

I remember adding a little bit of security to the PDF file as not being not would not be able to make changes, but I could be wrong.

But I want to sign an XML and send the PDF as a HTTP request. Is this possible?

Yes on the definition of the submit button there is a checkbox for submission sign. Once this is done, choose the settings button just beside and choose sign Dtaa only.

  • Change a secure interactive PDF form without regenerating the form?

I have a client who needs for me to make a minor change to a form of the PDF in interactive of passwords, that we have created for her. I have the password, of course, but Adobe Acrobat let me know the password without first saving the form as a copy. This, however, strips all the interactivity of the form. I don't want to have to redo all the fields to make this minor change, and I guess that I missed the obvious method to enter the password.

So, how to disable the password without wipe interactive fields so that I can make the change then save the form again with intact security and interactive form fields?

Save as copy, edit the PDF file, then extend features in Adobe Reader (under Advanced) all your form fields should reappear.

Do not open the file in the browser window. Save it locally and then launch Adobe Reader and open the file there.

  • Interactive PDF form text moves upward when you have filled

After I type something in a text field and click on / tab, it moves a bit upward, beyond the limit of the bounding box. I tried to play with text field settings, and resizing the bounding box, but without success. How can I fix it?

This topic is a bit off-topic for the forum of InDesign, but my recommendation would be to ask everyone to use Adobe Reader to fill in the form. This seems to be a problem with preview and has nothing to do with InDesign or Adobe Acrobat/Reader.

  • PDF form: allow the customer to enter the name and address in a printable letter

I am creating a letter in which people can:

-Download in PDF from my Web site

-Open in an application PDF and enter their name and address

-Print the letter with the name and address (that they registered above) inside.

I'm assuming that InDesign CS6 is the best tool for this because it has orders to create interactive PDF Forms.

I created a text box for the user to enter their name and address. I then went to window > interactive > buttons and form, clicked on the box and he attributed the following values:

    -Type: Textfield

    -Event: Onfocus (PDF)

PDF options: Printable, necessary, Multi line, scrollable

I then export my PDF making sure to put ' the interactive elements' "of appearance."

When I click on the text box, on the Mac or Acrobat preview, nothing happens.

    What I am doing wrong?

    Thanks for any help.

  • Interactive PDF on IPad app created with Digital Publishing Suite

Can someone tell me why I can create an interactive PDF in InDesign, send it to forms Adobe but not being able to have an interactive PDF form on an IPad App built with InDesign? Is to have an Interactive (by that I mean, adding a name and address and answering the questions in the form of text and checkboxes and submitting) form on an IPad at all possible using InDesign? Aaarrrrgggghhh!

    Transferred to DPS forum.

If you include this PDF in a HTMLResources folder, it is not interactive. There are several solution, and if you we say exactly what you are trying to do, we might be able to point you in the right direction.

  • Dynamic fill a PDF form?

I created a form in InDesign that I use in my daily work - it has several fields that contain information about the problems, I'm currently trying.  This information comes from a system internal owner that I have access to via JDBC, SQL, languages, etc.  I would like to take my InDesign document, create a PDF form with her, and then have new PDFs generated automatically with the data provided by our own database.  I can handle 90% of it, but end Adobe it's confusing and (frankly) a bit frustrating.

I can do a static PDF from InDesign very well, but how do I create a PDF file that is supposed to be completed at a later date using external data?  I can put it any format - XML, CSV, anything you want.  I don't want to launch InDesign every time I want to print a new form.  Launch of Acrobat would be nice, if not optimal - at least in Acrobat have not be careful not to spoil the source document.

I'd love it if Adobe provided a way (out of the cycle of life - I don't have the money for it) to automate this fully in the CreativeCloud limits, but I'm more than competent with to out if programming environments that will be necessary.

Can someone give me some guidance with this?

You have two options that I can see.

1 - completely to InDesign using their feature of variable data and support for XML input.

    2. create an interactive PDF form using InDesign, and then either manually or automated have Acrobat import (XML or CSV) data in the fields

  • Shared interactive PDF does not have to save

I created an interactive PDF form for use in my office and everything seems to work properly. Just one of the girls realized that if she she accidentally closes without hitting the button submit at the bottom, that it does not give him a quick backup and she loses all the input data. This is a problem because it was created to make the contributions from customer, and once the phone with the customer, it is very difficult (not to mention embarrassing!) must remind and repeat the process.

Y at - there a way to do register at the command prompt, or at least that the program application "are you really sure you want to quit (the changes will be lost)"»

I created the form in Acrobat for Mac, but it is used mainly by Windows users.

It normally would you want by default, unless you use the drive before 11 and the shape is not compatible drive. Then, use 11 player or player - activate the form. To activate the reader with Acrobat 9, open the form and select: Advanced > extend features in Adobe Reader
