Internet explorer - Windows 8 - facebook chat plugin?

Recently bought an Inspiron 15Z (touch) with windows 8 - heavily used by my daughter of course to e.g. facebook

Now, I have the following strange behaviour

If I use the Explorer (from startup screen), it is not possible to start a chat screen... (the option does not appear)

If I use internet explorer (from the view of the office), I can launch a chat screen (the webcam is dedected) - could be installed the plugin - the 'video' screen is presented, but not possible to have a voice

any idea?

Download and install Firefox and Flash and Java.

Java will work in the home screen on Windows 8?

Microsoft Windows 8 supports not plug-ins from the Start screen and then Java will not run in the Start screen.

You will need to switch to the display of the desktop computer to run Java.

Download Free software Java

Windows 8 is officially supported with the release of Java 7 update 10.

Java will benefit only in the display of the desktop computer . Java will not run in the Start screen.

Download a nightly build of Mozilla Firefox

http://www.Adobe.com/software/Flash/about/

Then buy 8 boot and install.

Debut8 for Windows® 8 - bring back the Windows Start menu

Use the start menu and Firefox.

Problem solved.

I installed the firefox browser, but it will not display farmville. Do I need to install the flash plugin in the browser firefox or internet explore. I have already adobe flash player installed through Web browser to explore.

There are 2 versions of Flash:

    • the ActiveX for IE version only (see: [ActiveX])

      • Download and SAVE to your desktop, so you can find the Setup program later
      • If you do not have the current version, click on the "Player Download Center" link on the 'download and information' or 'Download manual installers' below
      • Once the download is complete, exit Firefox

Method 3: Run Internet Explorer in "no Add-ons" mode

Add-on Internet Explorer, such as ActiveX controls and browser toolbars, are used by some Web sites to provide a better browsing experience. An error may occur if an add-on is damaged or if an add-on conflicts with Internet Explorer. To determine if the error is caused by an add-on, run Internet Explorer in "no Add-ons" mode To do this, follow these steps:

    1. Click Start and then type Internet Explorer in the box to start the search.
    2. Click Internet Explorer (No Add-ons). Internet Explorer opens without Add-ons, toolbars, or plug-ins.
    3. Test Internet Explorer to verify that it works correctly. If problems still occur, try Method 4.

If no error occurs, the problem is caused by one of the Add-ons that typically load with Internet Explorer. In this case, use one of the following options.

    Option 1: Reset Internet Explorer

Reset Internet Explorer to its default configuration. This step will disable also any add-ons, plug-ins or toolbars that are installed. Although this solution is fast, it also means that, if you want to use one of these modules in the future, they must be reinstalled. To reset Internet Explorer settings, use method 4.

Option 2: Use the add-on management tool to determine which add-on is causing the problem

Use the tool of management of Add-ons in Internet Explorer to individually disable each add-on to determine which add-on is causing errors. To do this, follow these steps:

    Internet Explore 7

    1. Open Internet Explorer 7.
    2. Click Tools, point to manage add-ons and then click Enable or disable add-ons.
    3. In the box display, select Add-ons that have been used by Internet Explorer to display all the modules that are installed on the computer.
    4. For each item in this list, select the add-on, and then click on disable under settings.
    5. When you have disabled all the items in this list, click OK.
    6. Quit and then restart Internet Explorer 7.
    7. If the problems do not occur, repeat steps 1 to 3.
    8. Click Activate for a simple add-on.
    9. Repeat steps 6 through 8 until you determine which add-on causes errors occur.

    Internet explore 8

    1. Open Internet Explorer 8.
    2. Click Tools, and then click Manage Add-ons.
    3. In the drop-down view menu, select all add-ons to display all the modules that are installed on the computer.
    4. For each item in this list, select the add-on, and then click disable in the information window.
    5. When you have disabled all the items in this list, click OK.
    6. Quit and then restart Internet Explorer.
    7. If the problems do not recur, repeat steps 1 to 3.
    8. Click Activate for a simple add-on.
    9. Repeat steps 6 through 8 until you determine which add-on causes errors occur.

  • How to constantly optimize the Internet Explorer window in Windows 7?

This problem exists wince at the beginning of humanity, or so it seems. How does one ensure that browser windows will be always maximized, without the constant need to test an error in resizing, and they will remain so unless I manually size a window to a size less than the maximum value?

In short, finally, fortunately, do we have a "Keep the browser always maximized windows" option available to us?

Is it possible to finally be free of having to move on the edge of a window of browser on one side of the screen or the other, the same with the bottom of the window and then having to close, reopen, resize, and repeat, until finally "gets it", the user wishes to what Windows Windows to open in larger format?

To go a step further, it often seems that if open windows in different sizes depending on what is causing the window to open, for example: 1) by clicking the Internet Explorer icon on the Quick Launch toolbar. (2) by clicking on a link of e-mail; (3) a right click on a link while reading a given an internet/URL of the page and selecting the "open in a new window" option. (4) etc, etc, etc.

Thank you very much in advance!

You need not do any voodo.  Just right-click on the icon that you use to open your browser and go to properties.  There is an option "maximized/minimized/normal" in there, just choose what you want.

  • Internet Explorer Windows 7 Starter has?

Windows 7 Starter has Internet Explorer 8, but can be upgraded to IE9.

You can transfer downloaded files from XP to Windows 7, but it is easier to download them directly on the netbook.

  • Internet Explorer window title

In Windows 7, the application now shows the title of popup window with url to the document.title we set programmatically.  For example, instead of 'name, name - title name' it says 'https://...com/last name - name of the title.

Is this some kind of customization, we need to change to make it work as before?

  • Windows Internet Explorer opens automatically at startup of the Facebook page

I use Windows Vista Home Premium software on a Gateway computer. It flashes at the bottom of my screen until I click on it. I don't want no internet will automatically launch and I want either of Facebook. How can I keep internet start automatically without my even clicking on it? Thanks for the help.

    Dear Rachel,

    Please, try the following steps.

    (1) check that the homepage of your Internet Explorer is not "facebook.com" - could be found under Tools-> Internet Options-> general, in the section "Home Page." If you do not have "facebook.com" written there, replace it with another site that you want to load when you start your browser or with "subject: empty ' If you just want a blank window is displayed when you run your browser.

    (2) on your Start menu, choose programs-> startup programs list. If "Internet Explorer" is in the list, just simply delete.

((3) if (2)) does not help, try running 'msconfig' (choose Run from the Start Menu and just type "msconfig" in the window that appears), go to "Startup" and uncheck a box near point "Windows Internet Explorer".

    I hope this helps!
