iPhoto sharing same Mac

How to share iPhoto (book photo esp. project) between two users on the same Mac iCloud without external drive?

  • Photos are saved on the Mac so no need to iCloud and not always internet access
  • External hard drive is very annoying

Thanks in advance for any help

You can not

You will need to find different management software of Photo that meets the needs of yoru - Photos doesn't work (and a recent version of iPhotos didn't either)

    Hello world!

Quick question here: is there a way I can share files between users on the same Mac without an internet connection?

I have two users say that A and B. If I go the long way via the 'Go' menu > 'Computer', I ended up being told to contact my computer or the network administrator for assistance. Both users are admin one and file sharing is allowed in system preferences... I have to admit that I use 10.9.5 because my MacBook Pro would not work with OS Xs national parks.

Any ideas would be cool because I'm sure that it used to work fine with "Snow Leopard" without being connected to the internet - or should I just send an email to myself and recover the files on the other user :-) to recover my USB is

  • How to share your photo on the same Mac without iCloud library

    Hello

I have an iMac, with El Capitan OS X 10.11.4
I have an iCloud account, but I use Photos on my iMac without iCloud, only local.

I create a second account on my iMac for my wife. She doesn't have an iCloud account.

I want to share my library of Photos with it.

I moved my photo library in the shared directory, and I give permission to write about it for my wife.

For me it of ok, when I opened the Photos, but for my wife, when she tried to open this library of Photos it is an error message about broken permissions and it is impossible to do something, there is no option, just left :-(

It is possible or not to do?
    If so, how?

    Kind regards.

To share a library, that it must be in a separate disk or partition on an external drive with the flag 'Ignore the property' enabled. A shared folder is not sufficient.

The procedure is described here for iPhoto. You can try the same thing for pictures.  See this link: iPhoto: sharing libraries among multiple users of

  • When issuing vNIC with the same MAC on the same vSwitch

    Hi all

In a public cloud computing environment, only host hypervisor (VMWare ESXi for example) can host VMs of different customers. These virtual machines can use the same MAC address for the vNIC. What happens if these virtual machines with the same MAC connected to the same vSwitch by chance? This will cause the MAC table on the vSwitch updated constantly which would lead in turn to the performance problem.

How vSwitch or what type of solution could solve this kind of issue and provide a network environment isolated to each cloud tanent?

    Thank you!

It would be on the cloud provider (who generally do not use vSphere anyway) to mitigate.

If you are a supplier, you can use something like vCloud to isolate your environment shared with the support of as vShield products and technologies such as VXLAN.

  • exit show me the same MAC address twice

    Hi all

and easy for sure. When I run the interfaces see the G0/1 command on switch, why the output shows me the same MAC address twice?

the address is 00d0.58c0.4519 (bia 00d0.58c0.4519)

I know, BIA is burned in address and is located on the ROM, but what is the idea behind this?

EDIT: also would like to ask, why a router maintains an arp entry for its own interface, it seems that this is not the case on for example a Windows laptop...

    Best regards

    Adam

    Adam,

Some interfaces allow you to configure user-defined MAC address:

     R1#show int f0/0 | i bia Hardware is AmdFE, address is cc00.0fac.0000 (bia cc00.0fac.0000) R1#conf t Enter configuration commands, one per line. End with CNTL/Z. R1(config)#int f0/0 R1(config-if)#mac-address 0200.0000.0001 R1(config-if)#do show int f0/0 | i bia Hardware is AmdFE, address is 0200.0000.0001 (bia cc00.0fac.0000)

Please tell me why four devices connected to the router shares the same mac address was shown on the arp table? I know this has to do with the firewall and owner of listening devices, but why all using the same mac address instead of him? I'm trying to understand this scenerio. Please advice.

  • Meet multiple IFs with the same MAC, why limited?

    Hello

I'm currently testing a configuration with a controlled 802.3ad bundle a Linux guest and an external switch via 2 vNIC / hnics.

Each vnic is in a group of different bridge, so I assume that the workstation should not have any problem with both receiving the same MAC address, but it does.

Is there a magic wand shot to disable this check? Or what is there is only one table mac address in the vswitch so it won't work?

  • same mac address lan on different esx hosts

Hi, I have a unit of vmware (firewall) who take control of the NICs mac address, if I move this to another Esx VM, all configuration fell, because the lan mac address is different from the first Esx.

Is there a way to put the same mac address on two or more Esx host in the network adapters.

I tryied to set the mac address on the settings of the VM manually from the second Esx, but the first part is blocked.

In this case, I suggest to make a manual copy.

Or remove the inventory on the destination hosts, set the vmx file (to restore the old MAC address), then add back to the inventory.

  • Same MAC address LAN different segment, different ESX, different groupings? questions?

    Hello

I have a question reguardning assign the same address MAC 2 mV.

A quick overview of our environment is:

    1 vCenter

    2 different groups

Virtual machines are not in the same LAN segment.

We have cloned a VM to group A to group B. The license for the application is linked to the MAC address of the virtual machine. However, with a few changes to the .vmx file we have changed the

    static ethernetX.addresstype

ethernetX.address for the MAC, we wanted to

    added the ethernet.checkMACAddress = "false".

While the two virtual machines have the same MAC, VMS are production and VM B are development.

It works very well and we can turn on the virtual machine in Group B and both A and B works very well, the application works fine in the two clusters. BUT here's my question.

vCenter keeps track of MAC addresses and VM b it gives an error stating that "the static method address MAC attributed to VM B, is in conflict with the VM A MAC» Then can there be a problem for us? We can be right now two virtual machines are in place and working well just. And the application also works very well at the time of the cluster. The only one complaining about this is vCenter.

Someone has the right answer for me?

You must run the script catupgrd.sql for each database individually.

  • Sharing a VM between users on the same Mac

I'm trying to share the VM between users on my Mac.  I followed KB1005196 instructions to change the permissions of the beam and move to the shared folder.

The machine works well on the main account, but the other user account get the following error:

Could not open the file "/ users/shared/Virtual Machines.localized / Windows XP Proessional 2.vmwarevm/Windows XP Professional 2.vmdk ': insufficient permission to access file.

    I am running OS 10.6.5

    VMWARE 3.1.2 (332101)

    Thank you

Hmmm, okay let's try to change the permissions once. This time, we will also change the permissions on the entire virtual computers folder.

Simply copy and paste each order one directly into the Terminal. Please make sure that you do this under the account mattebury on your computer.

    chmod 777 users/shared/Virtual\ Machines.localized
    chmod-r 777 users/shared/Virtual\ Machines.localized

If you type this in manually and not copy and paste, please make sure that the R - is a capital R, not a lower case a.

This will change the permissions on everything in and including the virtual computers folder.

    Try now.
