layout without tables :-}

A matter of basic layout that I somehow never meet before... the screenshot shows almost what the owner wants; but I would like more vertical space between each graph and the next paragraph and (see point 5) a bit more horizontal space between the text and graphics

fm_spacing.png

Properties up to now:

  • the framework anchored - meet paragraph, right align, 6.0 pt of the gap
  • graphics - run around contour

I have experimented with a head paragraph run-in for the text and a paragraph aligned to the right of the graph, but then I couldn't work out how to align the chart to the top of the paragraph.

Tricks and tips welcome!

Increase the vertical size of the anchored frame I have software with command icons do this except that I left adjust the anchored frame. You can also set an object style to compensate quickly the chart to the upper right of the anchored frame.

A link to your page can help, but it seems that you use absolute
positioning as a means of layout. It's bad.

You can search for your "DBA 2 days" version oracle documentation for your version.  You should also read the manual of the concepts.  Create your own schema is pretty basic, all you have to do is to create a user.  Don't use dba or system for your own objects.

  • Choose the layout vs < table > < div >

    Me again, Hello.

I would like to get your views on the debate between s < table > and < div > s in CSS.

Again and again I read developers < div > s vs those of < table >, and what I took away are:

«If you have lots of tabular data, use a table of <>, otherwise, use < div > s.»

'Tables inside tables are a big problem'

So I'll give you a specific example

This is a model of a simple series of < div > s.

The large one right will be for a photo.

The other s < div > 12 will be for text data.

    http://www.heartinstitutehd.com/php/testingcsslayout.htm

I did exactly the same layout using a table with rowspan = "3" for the image.

In your opinion, what are the benefits and disadvantages of the use of vs < div > < table > in this particular example?

'Tables inside tables are a big problem'

This is not really true. Tables inside tables is useless and annoying because it creates a LOT of markup that gets through troubleshooting, and adds it to the weight of the page. It is not uncommon to find tables nested deep 7 or 8 on pages that use tables for layout. You will rarely find such contortions on pages CSS structures. What makes the tables in the trouble tables and even dangerous when these tables contain a lot of colspans and rowspans.  This leads to relative unstable structures that will explode in the figurative if someone bumps up to the size of the text on the page.

My criticism of your page, it's that you have assigned the heights to these elements. I recognize that you may be as well as to the effect, it is never a good idea - let content determine the height - you may overflow problems when you do not.

And finally, I used the tables on a page may be three times in the last year. All three times were to present tabular data. While tables can be an important tool in your kit, when you need to use them, I would avoid them for other use.

  • Is it possible to turn off or 'pause' a layout without deleting?

    Hello

I've recreated my site with muse and 3 layouts (desktop, Tablet and mobile).  Everything is fine, but I am having a problem where some laptops are considered a "tablet" and the opening that the provision rather than the management of office.  As a result, the tablet website and it is shifted on the left side of the screen.  It seems unprofessional and while I created links in the footer to each of the different schemes I prefer obviously the correct layout appears.  I searched the forum for this issue and I appreciate there are a few reasons why this might be and that a possible solution could be in the next software update.  In the meantime, I think that it better if I remove the Tablet presentation until this issue is resolved.  My question is, is it possible "pause" or disable the page layout of the Tablet rather than deleting?  So that files are saved in recovery when this problem is solved?

    Thank you

Go to the menu "file/Site Properties" choose "Layout" and uncheck the option "Redirection of Desktop.

Or select each page of the tablet in the plan view, right-click on it and uncheck the option "export page".

  • Is it possible to export the data to excel without table?

Is it possible to directly export data to excel from a view object?
Currently I use af:tree to display data (this is a requirement). I have therefore no table in my page.
I want to export lines of data corresponding to this tree to Excel.
If I select export as tree id, then only the nodes are exported, in a single column. I would also like to other columns that are in its original Version.

Someone help me please. I found ways to export of table, no VO.

    Hello..
I think that you can not directly from VO. In any case you can do it with rendered = false table, which will not show the table in page, but your condition is ok. (Drag and drop VOS as ADF Table to your page then he put false rendering)

    rendered = "false" >

    filename = "export_xls" title = "Export ADF faces" / >

  • How to request improvements in APEX product (such as protection code)

Reviewed and there are positions that go back at least 2009 asking how to protect the apex code exported to protect licensed applications.
As we know, there is the possibility to export an application read-only, but this does not prevent the administrator from the APEX of the licensee to change to run and build once the code has been installed by the licensor. While the procedures and functions can be wrapped, there is still no way to protect the APEX application code that will be the job of the licensor.
Of course, there is the license agreement between the licensor and the licensee, but how hard could it be to add an export option, such as "export unalterable protégé", which would prevent the change in order to run and build at a later date by the licensee?
Another wonderful product is still suffering with this major fault, yet apparently easily corrected.

  • By lining up the photo and text in CS5

    Hi all.

I just bought CS5, and not surprisingly, it does not come with a manual which I just ordered. I need to try to solve a problem quickly if and I was wondering if someone could give me the foor coding a layout without table. I want to take a photo with the text aligned to the right as in the attached picture. Can anyone help please?

    Thanks for any help.

    robbo2.jpg

If you insert the image before the text and float the image to the left, which gives him a right margin on 15-20px you will get what you want.

And by the way, you don't need a manual of DW.  Spend your time learning HTML and CSS instead.

  • Cannot nest layout table in the layout table

I work through a training course on the design of websites using CS3, and one of the examples dealing with the mode layout is a layout table nested within a cell of another table of provision. I can get the result by editing the code, but I find no way in design view mode of disposal to accomplish the same thing after hours of trying. Help says you're supposed to be able to select a layout of the main layout and then table cell insert another table of provision in this cell, limit the size of the mesh, but the program won't let me anything inserted into an existing cell. I have attached the reference code. Can anyone tell if I should be able to create the nested table in Design view without just changing the code to force?

Oops - sorry guys. I see that you already have a lot of suggestions.

And the link I gave you was the wrong one. I see that Tim has given you the right
    one...
