  • Oracle e-Business = > OLIVIER

    Hello

I'm an "old hand" when it comes to Oracle e-Business and OBIEE, but a beginner when it comes to OLIVIER.

I am trying to understand the ETL for Oracle e-Business, i.e. how data from financial statements in particular fill the physical tables in the repository - can someone point me to a useful document / blog etc.?

    n. b. I have a copy of "OBIA Naming Conventions and domain values Guide"-which is useful insofar as it goes.

    Thanks for any help,

    Robert.

There is not a single doc that explains "how data from financial statements in particular perform the physical tables". What other users have suggested is a starting point.

Since you already have knowledge of BSE, I recommend the following:

    1. first of all focus on the areas (AP, AR, GL, etc.) that you want to evaluate. Then find the FACT and the SUN that is used for these SAs (generally there w key FACT along w possible aggregates) and several Dimensions in each SA. You can use model data (DMR) or the DCA to see this

    2. If you want to get an idea of the FACTS, you can use the guide line or DAC to see what ETLs are involved. There is usually a set of SDE (excerpts), ELEVATORS (expenses) and PAP (post load aggregates). Since you have knowledge of the EBS, you can just get the Mapplets to the SDÉS SQL code and it will show you the EBS tables involved

    3. Similarly, for DImensions, you can draw the appropriate SDÉS, SILOS. Note that DIMS are confirmed so the same low can be used in areas

After that, spend some time looking at the Informatica ETL code and understanding the logic (it takes time... and this isn't something you wil llearn since any single doc). There are some other things to note: DIFFERENTIALS/load COMPLETE, SCD dimensions, aggregation Tables... try to focus on the stream of basic and not too wrapped in these concepts.

Hope that helps... pls CORRECT/GOOD brand if it does.

    Hello

When you are developing a Java application, that you must only have a class with a Main method, other classes do not need that method, the purpose of this methos is that it defines the beginning of your program, look at this link, it is an example and this explains also the Main method:

  • Oracle in RHEL 5. Which to learn first? Linux or Oracle?

My office uses the Oracle database in RHEL 5. Which one should I control everything first to be a qualified DBA? Linux or Oracle? If the answer is Linux, where can I find Linux tutorial for Dummies since I have never handled Linux in my life before. Thank you

    Both.

Best way to start is to install a virtual machine on your computer and download a distribution (Ubuntu, Fedora Core, etc.) Live, install it. While you play around Linux in your virtual machine, install oracle on your windows system and start playing. The only real difference you will encounter when playing with the oracle databases is the path to the file reference. It may seem hard to start, but have arrived at the point where you know enough to install oracle on linux (install apps via YUM or rpm, configuration change, install other demons or services; IE: postfix, samba, smtp, etc.) and learn about creating users, create spaces for storage, creating tables/procedures/packages, change system settings, creating the database links, etc. you'll be on your way.

However becoming a DBA is not as simple as all about Linux and Oracle. Since you have not indicated what you know on this area, I'll assume a few things. First when you start working as a DBA, you can just run Oracle under Linux, you can run oracle on HP - UX, AIX, Linux, Solaris and Windows. In addition, you will be expected also know about writing queries and queries optimization. There is no magic parameters that make the databases to run fast, you have to know how they work, how queires are executed by the sql parser (this is where are real performance gains).

One thing that I was constantly should know (with details) is oracle licenses. This is a nightmare, and it takes time to learn how the licenses work so that you can give advise for new projects that want to use certain technologies to oracle. It is very intimidating at first, but as learn you more about it and become more comfortable on the use and to know all these things it will become second nature to you. If you know WHAT DBA (work colleagues or friends) to talk to them, encourage them to show you, you will learn a lot more in less time than learning by yourself.

  • How to connect to oracle ebs from external software

    Hello!

I want to develop an integration for oracle EBS. To this end, I'm looking for ways how to connect at EBS and a repository of functions that can be called from an external program. I'm not sure if this is the right place to ask but I haven't found anything yet so I'll try here.

Y at - it of standard connectors for provided by Oracle EBS?

Oracle Applications Architecture is a framework for distributed computing and at several levels that supports Oracle Applications products. In this model, different servers are divided in several levels/levels as follows:

-The Office of the range--> browser with Jinitiator or Sun JRE
---> Web servers, forms, States, Admin and simultaneous Application layer
-The layer of database--> Oracle Enterprise Edition database

The Application layer is the layer that is responsible for:

-The different servers that deal with the business logic of accommodation
-Manage the communication between the Office of the range and the database layer

So, to connect to the database, you can access the application layer, or connect directly to the base. I don't think that it is possible to communicate with the application to another application services. Therefore, you must connect directly to the database which can be carried out as explained in my previous answer. There is no such API that can be used to open and close a database connection. Oracle E-Business Suite is just a database with number of patterns and objects that are perfectly integrated.

  • best method to transmit the PPM (servo control) in series-wireless transmitter? (how to combine binary + whole in a single series byte)

I'm pulling my hair out here... I hope someone can help to guide me in the right direction.  I'm just learning binary and hex, so please forgive me (and correct me!) if I say something wrong.  I have to give credit when it is deserved, because I use info from a post on theautochannel.com to drive this development.

I try to control a small indoor RC helicopter using LabVIEW and a USB joystick.  I communicate with a transmitter wireless via rs232 (TTL converted), the Protocol is 125000, 8n1. Each image is 14 bytes 2 bytes of header.  I would like to transmit data PPM (pulse position modulation) which is actually just a 10bits (1024 possible measures) range that dictates the position of the servo, for each channel.

    Byte 3 & 4 are channel 1, byte 5 and 6 are channels 2, 7 & 8 CH 3,... and so on until the bytes 13 & 14 which is CH 6.

Each pair of bytes begins with "00" (binary).

Byte 3 & 4 should look like "00 00 00 xx xx xx xx xx", where the first "00" is the header, then "00 00" is the identifier of the servo, and 'xx xx xx xx xx' represents the position of the servo. The identifier is actually integrated in the position of the servo, the bits serve a double purpose.

That's why it all will look like this:

CH 01:00 00 00 xx xx xx xx xx (position has a valid range from 0 - 1023)

CH 02:00 00 01 xx xx xx xx xx (range 1024-2047)

CH 03:00 00 10 xx xx xx xx xx (range 2048-3071)

etc... If you convert the binary range, you can see how the second half of the bits ID servo are provided by the range of servo.

I intend by entry VISA to send every byte to constitute the entire frame, and then I will pause ~ 10ms between frames. However, my question is how the hell should I code this? !!  I think I need to write, take 1 CH for example, bytes 3 and 4 together into a string and then split them back hand to be sent as two distinct bytes.  However, I do not know how to mix my header and the first two bits of my ID servo, which is binary '00 xx', with my servo position (which I know I can write in decimal form, as entry VISA will convert it in binary). Any thoughts on the best way to do so, given all this?

An empty string character likens to a binary "0"?

Has totally confused everyone?  I really hope not, but I'm pretty tired so let me know if I need to simplify my question.  I hope someone can enlighten me as to the best way to combine the binary constant w modification of decimals (or hex).  And if anyone has thoughts about a good way to organize my vi together, I understand that too!  Right now I'll just use the structures of sequence... I post my code but at the moment, there is not much to look at

    Thank you very much!!

No, you do not confuse everyone, but I think you might have confused yourself.

You basically need to do is to create the array of bytes that will be sent, and then use the array of bytes to a string, so you can send it to the serial port. The creation of the byte array can be done in several ways. You deal with 6 16-bit numbers, of which the lower 10 bits are the values of the position of the servo. I don't know what you want on the front panel to look like, but if you have 6 separate (one for each servo) controls with each set having a range of 0 to 1023 (for 10-bit), then you just have to OR each value based on the number of servo. Put all this in a table, add the bytes of the header and the array of bytes to a string allows to get a string that you can send via the serial port. You can also do this in a loop. Joined a VI to show the two concepts. You have not indicated what version of LabVIEW, is 8.2 you use.
