license of Captivate

I just want to learn that captivate license is for a year or a lifetime?

Depends on the type of license you purchase.  Standalone licenses are perpetual.  Subscription licenses last as long as your subscription is free, but generally less than one year.

    Hello

We are a company specialized in e-learning development and we need (and already have) several licenses for Captivate. Regarding the CC, I would like to manage all subscriptions at the same time, but this does not seem possible. It's really frustrating. The statement on the site says: "you must register with a different ID. Needless to say that it is really hostile user; It will require to get several IDs, download order information and monthly bills one by one. What a waste of time! I would be very happy if someone is able to find out about the possibility of have grouped them licenses and mass (ideally on a year basis) payments.

In addition, trying to order, I got several error messages and strange feedback such as "you must order on the Dutch site" while we are established in Belgium. Please do something to keep your customers happy... I have been unable to reach you by phone, without the possibility to get in touch with Adobe staff by any means... If this is how Adobe treats customers, it becomes less and less likely that we will recommend Captivate to customers; Instead, we'll go to other solutions.

I hope that the answers through this channel will change my opinion?

    Kind regards

Volume licensing does not unfortunately because they require a "box" purchase - not the subscription model and also have a minimum quantity of 10 + licenses. At least that's the information we have obtained from them the last time we communicated with them.

We are faced with the same problem. We have 6 individual license of Captivate, generating 6 bills each month. Our creative cloud subscription is charged on a monthly bill and provides an administration interface to manage users and licenses.

The best way would be obviously for Captivate to be in the Cloud offer creative (like all other apps), but who would deny that a separate revenue stream adobe probably will happen so that pigs can fly :)

I think you are stuck with the way things are now unfortunately.

The problem with the command is due to their geo-location restrictions on their store. Adobe is working with differential pricing. The price in the U.S. is $ 30 per month and in my country, that it amounts to $41 per month. You should be able to get their online chat function to work. They are normally very useful.

  • I have a license for Captivate 5 but Im afraid to use it!

I have developed several courses in CP 4. Because of hardware changes, I have to constantly go back to them to edit and upload to our LMS. My company has 10 licenses reserved CP 5 but if I start 5 use how do I change the courses created by CP 4.

How can I go about it?

I have to cancel the registration of the 4 and 5 to use to create new courses of load

So when I have to update a previous course I write off 5 and load 4 new

When done remove 4 and reinstall 5

    Infinite and nausea...

Surely if I bought a license for Captivate 5 I certainly intend use it, then why Adobe covers me in a position that is impossible not to be able to change my route 4 to 5 CP CP?

Can I have other options or should I have just forgotten about using CP 5?

    Hello

First, Captivate 4 and 5 of Captivate can coexist on the same computer. for example, you can have a copy of Captivate 4 and saved copy (or a copy of the trial) of Captivate 5 parellelly running on the same computer.

Then, Captivate offers this compatibility with content created in Captivate 4 upwards. In other words, project created in Captivate 4 can be opened and edited in Captivate 5. Vice Versa is not true, i.e. the content created in Captivate 5 can be changed in Captivate 4.

That being said I would like to draw your attention to this blog:

Captivate 5 has many new and improved workflow features. I encourage you to try out them.

  • If I use a license of Captivate 8 upgrade to 9, I could move it to another machine or upgrading has to go on the same machine as the previous version?

I have 8 Captivate on an old hard drive and I would get a license to upgrade to 9 but I was wondering if I could install 9 directly on the new hard drive or should I install on the old version first and then move?

    Hi Valentttine,

Usually with the Adobe software, you can have several versions on the same machine without problem - if the prior release is maintaining your choice.

And if you install an upgraded version on a different machine from the previous version, you must enter the serial number of the old product when you install the new software, is everything.

    Hope that helps!

  • Either a 6 Captivate for Windows license or a license to Captivate 8 for Mac allows you to install 6 Captivate for Mac?

I have licensed copies of Captivate 6 for Windows and Captivate 8 for Mac. My client cannot accept files Captivate 8 again, so I need to use 6. I have pretty much retired the older Windows machine, and would much prefer to use Mac instead.

I only need to use Captivate 6 until my client system can accept the Captivate 8 files, so at that point there, I would go back to using 8. But for any file switching between Mac and Windows is a pain. I prefer to keep all of the workflow to a single computer.

    Thank you!

    Dan

For anyone else curious about it, I downloaded the Mac version 6 and connected with my Adobe this identification code worked right away. (My serial number for the version of Windows has not worked. I had to connect with my ID to activate it).

  • Buy the license of Captivate

    Hello

I got a code to swap my Captivate permit.

When I go to https://creative.adobe.com/redeem and enter the code, I get an error 'this card purchased in one country is not Adobe ID you'.

It says nothing about which countries, so I can't play with my Adobe ID account to change the country (if that is possible).

What can I do? Why should it be so complicated?

    Thanks for the tips,

    Christophe

Could you please try to redeem the code again.  The team have solved the problem in the background.

Please let me know how you go.

    Thank you

  • software with captivate simulation 9

    Hello
I want to do a simulation of software and when recording I make several clicks of the mouse to produce several slides,

but I have only a slide after the end of the recording. I guess there is a bad parameter in my settings?

Some of the techniques of advanced web programming cause Captivate Miss trigger events to capture a new slide.

(I.e. different forms of AJAX, JavaScript libraries like BackBase, Rich Internet applications built in Flex & published as Flash SWF, Web sites as the old techniques used as plugins and obsolete HTML commands as redirects can all cause Captivate respond differently to these interactions.)

The keyboard command using manual is the best way to ensure the capture of a slide, the default value is PrintScreen, but your system may have this change!

I'm in the construction of several projects of test patterns by using different settings and techniques to capture to determine which provides the best results.

For large projects, I stated that the purchase of a license to Captivate for a laptop to share with SMEs. I've been working with them to create a list of procedures and to teach them the best technique to capture the basic materials.

We transferred while they captured on a shared drive, and I was able to copy the files locally for editing.

When a new version of the tool was released while we were edit materials, the SME could again capture the procedures that had changed and I could copy captions to the file saved.

It may not match your current project, but I however it should be mentioned on the forum.

  • Buy Captivate 8

Hello. We are currently working on a big project of e-learning and put to the point all the lessons in point 8.1 of Captivate. We need to bring another person to work on the project, so go buy another license for Captivate 8 but the Adobe website seems to want to sell us the new 9 Captivate. Thus, we purchased who. And now, when the new person on the project save our Captivate files, it requires to be upgraded to version 9 of Captivate, and none of us can open them in Captivate 8!

It's so frustrating. Either make it easy to buy 8 Captivate or allow newer versions to save in a compatible format back.

    Help, please.

There is no possibility to record on previous versions, but Adobe allows you to run 8 Captivate with a license of Cp9.  You can search these forums to find download and registration information, or open a chat with Adobe support window to get this configuration for the new user.

All users must have the latest updates applied, save files to a local drive and then share on a workspace shared as a separate step.

  • Captivate 8 - error R6025 - Pure virtual function call

My teammates and I have 8 installed Captivate recently and while working on a large project for a client, some of our files has been corrupted. We couldn't open them and we would get a Runtime Error R6025 - Pure virtual function call. Some members of the team can still open these files CP8, but eventually, everyone is the error and we could not open the files, even if they were followed by several times.

Someone at - it the same problem? We have suddenly regrets buying all these Captivate 8 licenses. Captivate 6 never gave us this problem, and it's really had to happen with a great project for a client.

Just answered this in another thread (note we used 7 Captivate so it might be a different error).

We found that when we created files with embedded in swf files that existed above widgets in the timeline panel, when someone else has tried to open the files he broke / we got the runtime error. The original person could still open for awhile, but hides would be clearly and that they could not.

However, if we ensured that swf files are below widgets in the source files, it didn't break. Indeed, if we found one that broke and got the author to move the SWF in the timeline, he would start working for others.

STRANGE! I would like to know if it works for you!

  • Is Captivate 7 backward compatible with Captivate 6?

We are about to do a lot of work for a client that requires us to get about 10-12 licenses for Captivate. Already, we have had about 3 Captivate 6 licenses and thought that we would buy the remaining licenses of Captivate 6 7-9. We are now considering purchasing Captivate 7 and wanted to check if we could share project files between members of the team with 6 Captivate and Captivate 7 - or is it a case of a project created in Captivate 6 won't open/work in 7 Captivate and vice versa?

    Thank you

    Sean

    Hello and welcome,

Although you can open the CP6 CP7 projects some functionality will be lost. I checked everything, but if you use stocks advanced in CP7 then they just disappear when you open the project in CP6. There are perhaps more incompatibilities, but the good thing is that at least you can open projects, that wasn't the case for previous versions.

  • What to do to install Captivate 4 on a third computer laptop?

I bought Adobe Captivate 4 for my personal use.
    I then installed in the
    (1) my laptop (32-bit) work that works on XP
    (2) portable my wife (64-bit) which runs on Vista.

I had many questions running Adobe Captivate 4 on portable 64-bit of my wife.

But Captivate 4 works well on XP 32 bit laptop.

My problem is I'd lose the 32-bit computer, I have to return it to my employer, soon. So, I bought a Thinkpad running Windows 7 Premium 32 bit.

I'll be able to install my purchased Captivate 4 licenses in the new machine? Or should I first 'Unregister' Captivate from one of the machines earlier (and if so, how to do that)? I heard somewhere, that only 2 machines can both use the same license of Captivate 4.

    Help, please.

    Hello

You will need to disable one of the copies to be able to install it on a third computer. Disabling can be done using the menu. You don't need to uninstall, but only two copies can be activated at the same time.

  • Captivate 3 and 4 on the same machine

    Hello

I have two licenses for Captivate 3 (Full Version) and you want to buy an updated Version of Captivate 4. My question is, is it possible to use the Captivate 3 (Full Version) and Captivate 4 (Upgrade) together on the same machine?

    Thanks for your replies.

    Welcome to our community, Denis

Usually, if you buy a version upgrade, you will need to have only the upgrade on the machine. But as you have two full licenses I think you may have at the time.

From a technical point of view, the two versions will co-exist peacefully.

    See you soon... Rick
