Link to the local opening PDF causes .doc 0xc0000005

Hello

My users are currently faced with the problem that if they click in a Word document on a link pointing to a local PDF (PDF on the desktop for example), Acrobat Reader DC 2015.009.20069 instantly crashes with error 0xc0000005, every time!

Anyone else facing this? Is this a known bug?

Hi yvesr93749591,

Can you please choose option "Check for Updates" in the Help menu to install the latest patch for Acrobat DC and check again.

Try to disable the Protected Mode under ' Edit > Preferences > (protection) "and see if that helps.

Let me know.

Kind regards

Ana Maria

  • Firefox does not open a link after the first; Open ok in new tab front.

    In the last week or two, for reasons not clear to me, Firefox does not open the new links after the first; It is used to open a new connection in new tabs (according to my preference) without problems in the past. Now it does not blink again.

    Over time, I've added new applications and others removed, and, of course, I can't exclude from their role in the problem that I have now. I would appreciate some help to solve this problem.

    You have this problem when running in Firefox SafeMode?

  • How can I insert link to the site in pdf document

    I'm studying a course where the assessment is in pdf format and I need to fill in the answers. A question ask for a link to the website I found the information, but I can't find the link button. I have searched google, youtubed, rang the assessors and even tried friends on facebook. Edit pdf does not provide a drop-down list and just ask "you want to know more. I tried to uninstall and reinstall. everything I have tried does make a difference. Why he had no drop down, the option of links as I saw it on the you tube videos?

    What you saw in the videos of youtube is on the use of Adobe Acrobat. But use you Acrobat Reader.

  • A link to the local web content

    I develop some courses for my employer, and we will have a html content that I want to welcome the SGA as near the Captivate course itself as possible. (Sorry if my description is vague; I don't get too involved in the publishing of LMS.)

    What I do now: Captivate my lesson is on C:\Captivate_courses\Lesson 1\ so then I take the folder that contains my glad to say \web\kitty_cat\kitty.htm web and place it in the folder of lesson 1, making the place the button should appear in a separate window when you click on it. It works fine on my local machine, but I don't know how to publish so that can be packed on a CD or flash key and sent to my small business for review.

    I hope that I have explained my problem clearly enough.

    Hello

    If you send just a small business, then I would say that you are sure of your kitty.htm in a directory (on your CD-ROM drive or Flash drive) simply copy the html code and swf.  Make sure you think the url in your captivate project is a relitive link... ie.  If you find the file and then remove the drive and folder of the URL in the properties panel to your link button.  So if he says just c:\web\kitty.htm make kitty.htm.  The captivate published file will look in the root folder because it is now a relative link to the file.

    Hope that helps.

  • Link to the local function?

    In earlier versions of Flash, it was possible to link to a local function. In the htmlText of a text box, you can link to the event: functionName instead of a Web site. Is it possible under the text layout? If so, can anyone send an example?

    For the click event, you can do this:
    Click = "myEventHandler (Event); »

    In addition, you can set the href on the link as:
    href = "event: eventName" and then add a listener for eventName in the textFlow.

  • Specifying the parameters open PDF in Word import script

    I have created a number of URL to a Word document that open to a specific page only. in format PDF files for example http://www.adhc.nsw.gov.au/__data/assets/file/0008/228194/HomeModificationGuidelines.pdf#p age = 4

    The function of parameters as expected when opened directly in the Word document, but after importing and publishing v9 HR, parameterized URLS are completely ignored in the browser (Internet Explorer).

    If I add the URL via HR directly, they are OK, however, I have to keep the source in Word format.  Anyone know if there is a limitation in the context of the word is important to HR or am I missing the point somewhere along the way? I searched high and low for an answer and praying that there could be a solution or workaround!

    Thanks in advance...

    Wilan

    I have been informed by the Adobe support is currently not possible to import a document Word with PDF open parameters in a URL, for example http://example.org/doc.pdf#page=3 .  I'm not sure if this applies also to the referencing a destination named in a PDF also.  Adobe engineers will continue the investigation.

  • After the latest updates from Microsoft, my Internet Backgammon supplied with Windows 7 no longer works. It is a dead link and the game opens same. That's happened?

    I like to play trump stings on Internet and Internet Backgammon that's installed with Windows 7, Home Premium edition.  However, after the automatic updates installed yesterday, I noticed that the link to play the Internet Backgammon is no longer works.  It's just a dead link.  I can click on it, but nothing happens.  Not even an ounce of trying to open.  It's just 'died '.  I can still play trump stings on the Internet and I have no trouble to access the internet, so I wonder if this is just a small problem or do you have Microsoft remove Internet Backgammon as one of its windows games?  Note, this is Internet Backgammon that is installed on the computer, in the folder games - it is NOT the version of backgammon on MSN that you actually go to the internet and to play.  I am referring to the one in the Games folder, which is installed with Windows 7.  I play this game almost every day, so I hope that it will be restored.  I wish there was a way to contact Microsoft about this, but there isn't and they charge, then...

  • Why MUSE uses an external version of jQuery instead of the local. This causes slow loading of our Web site.

    Hello

    When we export our MUSE to HTML to run local site for demonstration purposes. There is still internet to load site.

    After inspecting the source code, it loads an external jquery library of musecdn2.businesscatalyst.com

    The funny part is that there is a local copy of the jquery lib in scripts / folder. But not used.

    Anyone who has noticed the same problem?

    Thankx

    Harold.

    Your observation that a site done Muse reference both a copy based on the jQuery CDN and downloaded with your site are accurate.

    Your statement there is a causal link between this and the performance of your site is less clear. What evidence leads you to this conclusion?

    jQuery is stored on a CDN (Content Distribution Network) as for normal situations of hosting a CDN provides content at a fraction of the time that it takes to the same content from your hosting provider. However, if for some reason, the CDN is not accessible, as in your closed network situation, a Muse site automatically returns to use the version of jQuery that has been uploaded to your server. How long it takes for the determination of the accessible CDN isn't likely depends on the topology of your network.

    If you look at the Panel Network of the Developer Tools in Chrome (or the browser of your choice), what is the latency time reported the browser to determine on the CDN jQuery is unavailable?

  • How to get the path of PDF file?

    Hello

    Adobe Livecycle ES2 V9

    Here is the code that I currently use (postSave):

    var fileName = event.target.documentFileName;

    at this point, fileName is (myForm.pdf), there is no path to the file

    fileName = fileName.substring (0, fileName.indexOf("."));

    xfa.host.exportData (".") ("/" + name + ".xml", 0);

    In fact, when the user saves the document PDF an XML file is automatically saved in the same directory with the same name as the PDF file.

    The problem is event.target.documentFileName only gets the pdf and the extension (ex: site_checklist.pdf)

    If the client opens two or more PDF files, it tries to export the XML file in the directory of the first open PDF file (or the last, it have not narrowed down).

    How can I get the path of the current PDF (not PDF more recently opened)?

    I can find no documentation for .documentFileName, I tried documentFilePath too.

    The property you are looking for is the 'path' property: http://livedocs.adobe.com/acrobat_sdk/9.1/Acrobat9_1_HTMLHelp/JS_API_AcroJS.88.411.html

    Here is the documentation for documentFileName: http://livedocs.adobe.com/acrobat_sdk/9.1/Acrobat9_1_HTMLHelp/JS_API_AcroJS.88.389.html

  • target for a .pdf with the target _blank link file does not open in a new window.

    I have a simple html document with links to all the value _blank .pdf documents but only opens in a new window.  Others open as _self.  Change the target does not seem to make a difference.

    No idea why this is happening?

    It is preferable to share a link to the offending page, so that we can see the code, simple errors as a lack of "or = can cause what you describe.

    However since you work with PDF files there may not be anything technically wrong with your code.

    Files PDF is a multimedia file that is managed in a number of different ways depending on the settings of the user's browser and plugin installations. What gives the target = "_blank" on a PDF link can open a new blank page and the PDF opens in Acrobat instead. There is no way to force a PDF file to load in the browser, this is a user setting we as developers have zero access to.

  • Insert a link on the xml report. The link must open a document (PDFS).

    Is it possible to insert a link in the report? The value would come from a sql query. The link when clicked on would open the pdf or doc.

    This is done through a href or by inserting a hyper dynamic link.

    Version 5.6.2 Release documentation reference how to insert a hyperlink. Not sure if this will work for me.
    I tried, but in literature, he States:

    >
    If your input XML data includes an item that contains a hyperlink, or a part of
    one, you can create dynamic hyperlinks when running. In the Type of file or Web page
    domain name of the dialog box insert hyperlink, enter the following syntax:
    {URL_LINK}
    where URL_LINK is the name of incoming data item.
    >

    However the dialog I get when I inserted the hyperlink does not have a place to enter the item name. In other words, there is no "TYPE of file or Web page" area that I see.

    Hi ashalon,

    I made this way in MS Word.
    1. create the placeholder for the value
    2. put highlight and make a hyperlink
    3. Enter the url in the address bar

    So if you have a complete hyperlink in the URL_LINK xml element you just enter {URL_LINK} in the address line. If you have only a part of the link, IE only a product name, you can enter 'http://www.oracle.com?product= {PRODUCT_NAME} ".

    I hope this helps.

    Concerning
    Chrissy
