Mac Adobe Application Manager will not install updates?

10.8.1 OSX / CS6

Whenever I try to install the updates for CS6 products, Adobe Application Manager displays the following error:

Screen-Shot-2012-09-18-at-10.37.27-AM.jpg

This happens when I try to install using the application manager, but also when I download updates the site Adobe and run their AdobePatchInstaller.app. I rebooted my system several times and archived Activity Monitor to see if MAO was already open, but nothing seems to work.

Thanks in advance for any help.

Managed to find an answer here: http://forums.adobe.com/message/3448241#3448241

Worked for me, but I'll leave my original upward question in case it helps other people find this solution.

Thank you Julian!

Re: updates for CS5 install February 4, 2011 06:54

Try if this helps-

Double-click on it to launch the "Terminal" application (/ Applications/Utilities/Terminal)

Copy paste the following command and press the 'return' key to execute the command. Enter the password when prompted and press 'return '. This will launch the updater in elevated mode and can allow you to run the updates as well.

The latetest (cloud) update sometimes does not work with old programs... Try to install your updates manually

  • Adobe Application Manager Will not install to another location

I just got Adobe Creative cloud and I tried to install it and when I did I chose my G drive for the path of the instalation since I onl got about a gig on my C drive. After I save the prefrences and to install a program it tells me that I need to free up more space on my C drive, though even I'm not installing on the C drive. Please help if you can its really urgent!

Well G drive Installation will proceed, but you should also have little space on C, essential to the buffer motivation.

Its always recommended, you should have some free space on drive C, the basic motivation.

Try to make space on the C drive and then try to install it on G and check.

  • I have 10 windows and application manager will not install help

Windows 10. LICENSE STANDALONE Photoshop CS6 and bridge.

I've owned Photoshop for many years and version.

I had to reformat my computer and reinstall photoshop.   Photo shop works without the updates.  Bridge does not load.   I tried to update and tried APPLICATON Download Manager, but it would not be installed.  Tried to move to the line without success.  Older versions of bridge will partially work.

The problem seems to come from the Application Manager does not and work.

    Hi ejemas42,

    Please follow the steps below:

    • Please check if you have installed browser security extensions, please disable them. (For example: AD BLOCK, Advisor to Mcafee website, toolbar of internet security etc.)
    • Disable the firewall of your machine, see OS x: about the application firewall - Apple supportWindows Firewall enable or disable - Windows help -
    • Turn off the firewall of the security program installed on the computer Internet.
    • In Mac: Go to: Apple icon > system preferences > Security & Privacy > General > "allow applications downloaded on" change this anywhere (to make these changes click the padlock in the corner at the bottom left of this window and enter your computer password)

Most of the time, its a problem with the download was not successful or downloaded correctly. So, in this case, re-download the software and do not forget to compare the file size of the file downloaded with the file on the server.  Download Creative Suite 6 applications

Allows you to check in this case as well and make sure that the download is complete, if the size of the file is correct, to the install.log file.

Navigate in the log files in one of the following folder:

    Mac OS: / Library/Logs/Adobe/Installers /.

    C:\Program Files (x 86) \Common Files\Adobe\Installers\

The name of the log file includes the name of the product and installation date, followed of ".". log.gz."the .gz extension indicates a compressed format.

You can use WIN RAR to extract the 7z or gz file:

    WINDOWS: http://www.rarlab.com/rar/winrar-x64-531.exe

MAC: WinRAR download and support: post-Télécharger

Once unzipped, the log file is a text file, open the .log using TextEdit (Mac OS) and notebook (OS Win)

Scroll to the bottom of the log. Look in the section - summary - for lines that begin with ERROR or FATAL and signals a failure during the installation process.

Copy and paste this section SUMMARIZED here so that we can check for errors. Alternatively, you can analyze the logs yourself. http://helpx.Adobe.com/Creative-Suite/KB/troubleshoot-install-logs-CS5-CS5.html

  • CC Adobe Application Manager does not install / launch

I was getting an error message on my application manager when you try to update. I fixed that on my iMac by uninstalling it and then put it back.

So I tried the same thing on my MacBook, but now it seems to have messed up things. Installation * appeared * to succeed in the sense that the completed progress bar (I tried 3 times) but I have not received any notification at the end and the app is a not run by itself.

Also, I can't find the icon of the application anywhere, and if I look into the applications folder, all I get is this dubious group of files / folders and nothing for the launch (see below)

Does anyone else have this problem?

It is strange that you have run the cleanup tool and that it did not always work

You can try to connect to the Root user account and then run the cleanup tool and then check.

  • Adobe Application Manager does not display that Acrobat Pro XI is installed when it was

Adobe Application Manager does not appear that Acrobat Pro XI is installed when it was installed by the Adobe Application Manager. I tried clicking on the button in the application manager Adobe who installs the program again and gives a key to launch the installation program. But the next time Adobe Application Manager starts, it said: Acrobat Pro XI is not installed, when it was installed (and working). I am a subscriber of creative cloud on the Mac (MacOS 10.8.3). platform Adobe Applicationa Manager is version 7.0.0.324.

How can I get Adobe Application Manager to show that the program Acrobat Pro XI is installed?

    Thoughts?

    -john

I tried the suggestion Greg_M #1 first - without success. Then tried the suggestion #2 of Arpit - also without success. However, I discovered that the uninstall program running in 'Applications-> Utilities-> Adobe Installers folder' had not removed the file Acrobat Pro XI (he was still in his file in the Applications). Finally, what worked manages the uninstall program that was in the folder ACROBAT PRO (NOT the utililites folder). When I ran the uninstaller program, I had also ticked the box in preferences to delete (not sure if that matters).

All is well now. When I run Adobe Application Manager it says correctly that Acrobat XI is "installed".

Greg and David thanks for your help/suggestions!
