  If your don't see preferences then may not be connected on the creative application of cloud, please check and confirm if you see a window for you to connect on the app if yes go ahead and this after click applications once it loads after that, click the gear icon and select Preferences.

  Only, you must uninstall the software for the Windows 8 and install HP Officejet Pro Full Feature software and driver for the 8.1 if you encounter a problem. If you can print and scanner there is no need to make any changes.

Beta installation with the installed version will not overwrite the installation of your release, it does not level the installation of your release.
