Optimization of PDF files

I run through the optimization of my PDF files.  I see a good compression and I am very happy.

My question:

I have a ton of files with different files in them.  MSG in format PDF, Doc, etc.

Can I run a batch optimization on all folders, but only target PDF files?  I have many many files in there to simply separate PDF files

Of course, you can optimize with Acrobat XI... It's you can't do in batch and tell him not to treat the files not PDF. That you can do with third-party tools, but I'm not sure that you can use to optimize the files. You will need a search.

And no, you cannot optimize a file using JS.

  • "Add open files" option to optimize scanned PDF files

Acrobat Pro XI lets me select an open PDF file on which to run the text recognition, with the possibility to add open files.

I would do the same thing when you use optimize scanned Documents or OCR and optimization features.  But with them, I don't see an Option add open files and do not understand why, since it was available when I used the operation to reduce the size of file in Acrobat 9 Standard.  It's a huge time saver.

I had hoped that OCR and Optimize function would allow me to do two operations at the same time, on some open files.  Is there a way to add files opened during optimization in Acrobat Pro XI?  If this is not the case, this functionality can be restored?

Full disclosure: I essentially asked this question several months ago and two useful experts suggested Actions to build, but finally I'm the spokesperson, they did not.  I gave up and reinstalled Acrobat 9 Standard because this feature was so important to me.  Since Acrobat 9 is no longer supported and I switched to Windows 10 I clenched my teeth, reinstalled Pro XI and got another go at him.  Thank you.

    Hi James,

Acrobat Pro XI does not "add open files" and the Action works on the currently opened file, which makes another stream of necessary work.  You can customize one of the Actions, to better meet your needs, but should be available in a folder open files.  Alternatively, you could move to Acrobat Pro DC.

If you think that I am not the question, please clarify.

  • optimization of pdf file size fixed

How can I fix the size of a pdf? (such as 520KO) as well as acrobat get the best ratio quality/size of himself...

Sometimes, you have a limit of size to upload a file and it is not very effective to try and try again to get the best quality of file to the requested size.

    THX

Preflight tools give you flexibility in a PDF of downsizing, but there is no setting that will do what you want. "Best quality" is not a definable quantity. Best quality, among other things depends on your destination.

I can do it one by one in Acrobat by choosing File > save as other > PDF optimized. And by following the instructions here: help Acrobat | Optimization of PDF files

  • How to optimize PDF files for mobile phones?

I am wanting to offer a white paper downloadable report on mobile devices, but do not know how to optimize PDF files so that they:

    1. download quickly

    2 are easy to navigate

3 display correctly without having to enlarge and scroll left and right

I know it's doable because my HTC Desire came with a few classic, easily installed PDF eBooks on it. Stories like "Dracula" and a "Tale of Two Cities' etc.

    Any help would be appreciated

Dave has mentioned very good points to optimize the PDF for mobile devices. Its very easy to do using Acrobat. You can read more here: (I don't know the version that you are, then I'll try to include links for Acrobat 9 and X)

In addition to this, here are my recommendations:

    Conversion process:

To create smaller PDF, I'd say this plan from the beginning. As Dave mentioned - the smaller size PDF, you can select this joboption in the conversion dialog box (if you have the original word etc.which document that you create a PDF from). This will automatically make maximum part of the work for you. So, try to keep the smaller size since the beginning of the PDF creation will not give you a lot of trouble later.

    Images:

You can also create some small thumnails of images and insert them into the original document before conversion. not resize in the document because it still contains the size of the original. Try to compress or resize them outside the document and then finally insert.

For example: If the image is 640 x 480 and you want only 50 x 50 in the PDF document. Try to resize using some applications like Adobe Photoshop or MS Office Manager pictures (comes in suite MS Office) or a lot of apps available for free online. then, finally, insert them into the document. If you resize them in the document itself, they will always be containing the size of the original.

Alongside this, try downsampling images at 72 dpi (using optimization PDF Acrobat) and use images poster rather than the videos. These images can having links pointed out the videos on the website.

    PDF size:

Try to keep the size PDF between 1-2 MBs.

  • How to save a PDF file in Adobe so it appears correctly in the Firefox default drive?

I have seen discussions on how to change your own settings of Firefox for poster correctly PDF files (documents to look at a PDF in Firefox 19 +) However, I'm looking for a solution on how to save a PDF file so that they display correctly in the new default Firefox reader. Our files PDF is bad looking and I can not go in the browser of each clients and difficulty settings (http://www.cherrybekaertbenefits.com/wp-content/uploads/2014/07/ACA_Infographic_072114.pdf). Meet them all parameters within the Acrobat Distiller is going to fix this without the Viewer to enter their own arrangements?

    Hmm, not a subtle difference.

We did not have many experts PDF or Adobe Illustrator users post advice here; those who might be sprinkled around on other forums, blogs or support sites.

I noticed when you view the properties of the PDF in Adobe Reader that the PDF has been created with optimization for active fast Web view. This is a feature that allows the progressive rendering of PDF files over a slow connection (http://helpx.adobe.com/illustrator/kb/optimize-native-pdf-file-sizes.html#...). You can try to re - generate the PDF file with this feature turned off to see if that makes a difference?

  • Backup of images to pdf file of Java App

    Hello

is there a feasibility to save images that have been responsible for res folder on the screen for the file PDF.

Scenario goes as it will be set to images in the Horizontalmanager and by clicking on the image particular necessary to save it as a PDF file, then on SD card.

    Thanks in advance.

After my post, I wanted to see if I could create a basic app that does this. It took me a little while, but I finally had the time to work on it.

Visit the following site (it is one of my libraries):

    http://BBX.codeplex.com/

    Choose "source code", then "Browse".

There is a directory called BBX_PDF. There is a small library to make PDF files. It's very raw. Both in use and in the code. There is no real speed or memory optimizations. To use it, you would spend in Hashtable, tables and specific objects. Then call the function write and he would write the PDF.

The specific thing that you wanted, I did a "Builder" class that is available in the folder 'Other' BBX_PDF.

It binds to one of my other libraries (BBX), but you can simply remove preprocessor components to get the generic version of the code.

Edit: There is a bug in the Image2PDFBuilder class. When an image is added, it's really small. I always try to understand this, but if you understand it, thanks for posting this you fixed so I can update the code.

    Hope that helps.

    2. to choose a folder

    3. to meet I want to replace the file (I understand not at all, why I am asking about the replacement: I work with a PDF - paint something, write something - and I would like to save all the changes of course in the same file)

    4. wait for the reader for PDF optimizes my file

I would like to record in one step and in 5 seconds (like MS Office for example).

  • My saved PDF files is too large. How to resize them

I have scanned and saved several documents in PDF files. However, they are too big, that some a page made for example up to 7 MB! The site of the State that I am trying to download these said too that they are too big. How to record their most small?

    Hello

You could save them as PDF size reduced by using Acrobat or you could also optimize them for more control.

You get these two options in Acrobat under the option "Save as."

  • Y at - it a simple method to disable and flatten graphical objects in the .pdf file?

I often send .pdf files to my clients. I do not protect the files because it seems that I do not trust my clients

I do generally two types of activity:

    (1) change a Word file where to paste my graphic signature, then export it in. PDF. Unfortunately, my graphicla signature object is always there, and anyone with Acrobat can enter.

    (2) modify the existing Acrobat files where I hide parts of the page with white spots. I print the files in. PDF, but the patches/items are still there and anyone can remove.

I can protect the file, but there not a method to flatten objects and make them NOT SELECTABLE at all? I don't care if surrounding text does not become achievable OCR.

I tried with optimization and deleting objects, but no way to success.

I'm sure there's a solution, but I was not able to find it.

You do not trust of your customers. You fear that they can somehow extract the content and use it in a way that is detrimental to you. If something is in PDF format, it can be extracted, even if you apply security. Addition of security will make impossible to extract or modify the content with Acrobat or any other Adobe software.

On the contrary if obscuring the content with the white objects, use the writing tool to remove content completely. You can configure the properties of redaction to set fill in white color.
